  1. To express my hilarity at people getting so wound up over an obvious fishing trip. And to point out how wrong you were with the Rijkaard example which you seemed to be using as some kind of "evidence" for your fishing trip. It's really not that hard to understand. Is it?
  2. Not really. I think my post made it pretty clear what I think of the original topic kiddo.
  3. Surely 30 minutes a half? One of the best team names we saw was "Obiwankinonil"
  4. Worst wind up ever. Can't believe so many folk got heated up over this especially when the poster wrote drivel like this: Nope Nope Rijkaard never saved them from the "brink of relegation" and certainly did not get them up to 6th place. It was Van Gaal that got them into a shocking mess at the start of the 02/03 season and Raddy Antic took them into 6th place when he arrived in January 2003. Rijkaard came in at the beginning of the 03/04 season and finished 2nd in his first season. If anyone saved them in 02/03 it was Antic.
  5. Only if you are unfit and have a rubbish team that pump the ball down the pitch for you to chase all the time. I love it when I play 5s, 6s or 7s and come up against a team that launch "Hollywood" balls up to their forwards. It's easy to defend against and if your team is good at getting the ball down, playing it to feet or into space not too far away you will tear them to shreds.
  6. Munro doesn't play better at right back though, unlike Puyol.
  7. That's because Puyol is a rubbish centre back. He has sold a fair few goals for Barcelona this season due to cock ups at the back.

    Bring Back Bavidge?
  9. I didn't say anything about finances between us and Dundee now. My point is that when Dundee, Livi and Gretna (you could argue) came down they were in dire financial positions and had to undertake massive cost cutting measures. Gretna eventually imploded (not really a surprise to most of us) but the other two found themselves struggling as a result of these debts. ICT, as far as I am aware, are not in such a position so we have a better platform to build on that the Dundees and Livis that have come down before us. EDIT: Don't let me knock your positivity incidentally. I tend to be more "glass half empty" anyway.
  10. The opening day of the season is perhaps the only highlight for me really. McBains brilliant run and finish prompted the biggest grin I think my face has ever supported. Can we go back to August 2008 please?
  11. Aberdeen is a shocking example! Sorry but you are kidding yourself with that one. You can look that far back all you want but Scottish football has changed since then and in the current climate going straight back up to the SPL is a very hard thing to do. One thing that does give us a boost is that we are in a better financial position than teams like Dundee and Livi when they were relegated.

  13. Brewsters record v Falkirk this season: P 2 W 1 D 1 Butchers record v Falkirk this season: P 3 L 3. Bring back Brewster!
  14. I. Am. A. Moron.
  15. Byrne plays mainly as a LB. he did however fill in as a CB for Aberdeen a few times. This is when he seemed to play okay for them. As a LB he was dreadful.

    Appearance bonuses. Assist bonuses.
  17. I'm specifically talking about the off the field staff. Not the footballers.
  18. For next season our team, as far as I am aware, might look something like this: ? Tokely Duff Munro Hastings / Djebi Zadi Proctor Duncan McBain Vigurs* Rooney Barrowman / Wood I am sure I am missing really obvious people there but I can't think who. I can't see us keeping many if any of those we signed in January. I would love for Kerr and Foran to stay as well as Morais but just can't see it. We need a new goalie if these Esson rumours are true. Our back line would appear to be pretty strong. That's something at least. We need a right midfielder and a lot more creativity in that midfield. Will Vigurs and Sutherland get new deals? Might be worth a shot in the first. Up front maybe Rooney / Barrowman will come good for us. Who knows. Dunfermline thought they had a good team when they went down. They retained a lot of their SPL players. Didn't do them any good. * Please sign him up.

Bit more than that plus bonuses...

Ian, Can I have your ICT shirt please? Thanks. x
  21. That looks horrific. Scotsport / Football First finished about 3 years ago. Some clubs have their own highlights service. What are you basing your second comment on? Not having a go but I'd be very interested to know how you came to that conclusion.
  22. No they haven't. Look how long it's taken Saint Johnstone to get out of there. Dundee, Dunfermline and Livi have never come back after relegation. I know you said you are trying to be optimistic but I think you are kidding yourself with that one.
  23. It's an interesting point Kingsmills makes. For the supporters, relegation hurts for a few days (at worst). For those off the filed at ICT, it can mean the loss of a job.

I wish I knew how to make a poll.
