  1. I can't let that go. Barry Wilson deserves the right midfield slot at the start of the season for me. Maybe Hart can play in the middle and move out to the right later on as Barry tires or something but Barry is still our main wide man. Moreover I am amazed at how critical some posters are being of players one or two friendlies.
  2. Not necessarily. Bambi played on the left for half an hour against Deveronvale and actually played quite well in that role. I was quite surprised.
  3. MacAllister has been another poor performer if you want to base judgement on them in a friendly. Rankin was okay against Peterhead. Got from box to box well and played some nice passes but didn't really excel. Erm - Italy with the rest of the squad - did you not see Keogh and Hart as well who also look like Calderwoods biatches! I've been impressed with Keogh in pre season. I think he might warrant a starting slot in the team against Mirren as we would need him to boss the midfield. I must say though overall that is suprising how negative some people are over this result. It was only a friendly and while I started this thread to point out the arrogance of this Sheffield Yinited fan make no bones about it they are a **** good team, have crowds 4 times the size of us, a huge wage and transfer budget by comparison. What was the crowd?
  4. According to this guy Now I have no doubts about the fact that United are a good team but this guy is unreal! :015:

  8. So if Blackie plays in a pointless friendly then we should expect him to sign a new contract? Hardly. Good to hear that Blackieforce about hopefully getting the extension signed. Maybe the big signing of Rankin has made the players think that we are serious about winning the league challenging for top 6 :001:
  9. Thuram also rumoured to be heading to Barça EDIT: Confirmed!
  10. Capello has apprently said that Zambrotta turned down madrid as he is going to Barcelona.
  11. Max. of 200k for me but realistically 100k :003:
  12. MacDonald is on a longer contract than Dargo.

It is on Teletext that Campbell should play against County.
  14. Swap Rankin with Black would make more sense there. Rankin spends half his game in the opposition half while Blacks tackles back much more. From what I have seen so far anyway.
  15. It is part of the transfer agreement. You know like the one Brewster had with us after he went to Yinited not to try and bid for our players right away.
  16. I am reliably informed (© Immortal Howden Ender) that I have posted a 'mini review' of the game with some pictures on P & B -> *Click Here*
  17. Fiorentina were relegated because they were declared bankrupt. Not suprised to see Emerson and Cannavaro go to Madrid though a bit suprised Zambrotta isn't joining them.
  18. :015: - there's a thought. Wonder if the chap who flew from Sneck to Aberdeen for the first SPL game will lend me his chopper? :001:
  19. Not sure about that last comment Alex. Will depend a lot on what 1st team players might turn up for Tokelys game I guess? Any idea how many current 1st teamers might feature in the game? Regarding Hart, I thought he did allright and got forward well to support the lone striker. Had some good crosses and in general was good without excelling. And he also did not look in the slightest over weight.
  20. Nowt special. Duncan scored a good goal and Sloan took his well. Aside from that a 'reserve' side took to the field and struggled to create any real openings. Glass missed some glorious chances and Rory was poor again unfortunately. Parratt was good in the right back slot, very good in fact I thought and was my MOTM. Hart played well as did Duncan and Keogh. We played a 4 - 5 - 1 initially with Rory alone up front and Glass and Campbell as the wingers with a back four of Golly, Hastings, Kerr and Parratt. Fraser was in goals. Hart had a few long range shots go close but it was Duncan who scored with an accurate 'pass' into the net for the opener. In the 2nd half came those misses that will haunt poor Glass. Both were from no more than 1 metre out (I was next to the goal so I know!) and yet he managed to send them both over. Stuart Sloan came on and immediately scored with his third touch. Controlling a loose ball from a corner he stepped inside his man and fired past the goalie to make it 2 - 0. We ended the game playing what looked like 4 - 4 - 2 with Hart and Rory upfront. Fair play to Rory, that's 180 minutes in 2 straight days and he does try but he lacks that cutting edge right now. Pictures to come.
  21. I'm not starting it for 2 reasons 1) We have another game to play before then :016: 2) I don't think I can go :007: Must say actually, I'm not looking forward to going back into the stand for the ICT games or any of the SPL games. Realised how great the terracing is and how much I miss it. Maybe I'll go and support Elgin... :015:
