  1. Aye thought Eric played better than either Ronney or Hayes today and Rossco was our best defender despite playing left back but just shows how everyone see's some things different!
  2. First half, we were pretty good and should have gone in one up at the break but for some poor defending of a free kick resulting in Innes putting the ball in his own net. It became clear fairly early on that our defence was not having a good day, Proctor was being absolutely screwed down the right and we seemed to just back off any Hearts players making runs towards goal. Tokely and Esson were fine i thought but this looked like a defence thrown together at the last minute. That said, Hearts were equally poor at the back and this gave hope that we may still go on to win it but they took their chances and we couldn't. I thought Nick Ross had one of his best games in a Caley shirt, especially first half and fully deserved the M.O.M award. Need to see the offside goal again as i'm not convinced it was but by then it was looking like it wasn't to be our day. The referee had a bit of a nightmare all round, Duff should have walked for a second bookable offence as should one of the Hearts players for fouls on Hayes and probably should have given Hearts a penalty as well. We can't have too many complaints about the result but it could have been oh so different.
  3. Thanks for that. From a selfish point of view i really hope you's stay up cos its a guaranteed 9 or 10 points for us each season. All the best
  4. Pulled of one of the great saves at Caledonian Stadium v Celtic but delivery and positioning often let him down.Good luck to him anyway.
  5. Shyte draw. Feckin Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  6. Not so sure about that. I may be wrong but I've a feeling that the club agree a fee at the start of the contract and that any profit over and above that goes to Linley's. In other words, the club gets paid no matter how much is sold. I normally go for my pie before the game or during the first half. I went to the south stall at the west side on saturday. One lass took the pie out of the oven, one poured the coke and a third took the cash. The forth stared into space. How I wish I was their supervisor. Aye could not believe it when i seen them at that. I was standing there wondering how it could possibly be going so slow and this answered it. I said a few weeks back i wouldn't be using the food kiosks again because of the cost and wait but the wee fella nagged me into it , but seriously never again.Missed a good 20 mins of the second half. Like someone said, just dont go there if you want to see the whole game.
  7. Not sure if those prices are correct or was i done, but took the wee man along, aged 6, and it was 15 quid for him in the north stand, ticket bought in advance. Missed a full 20 mins of the second half in the q to get him a pie to round of a miserable day.
  8. I dont accept that.Plenty other so called smaller nations can produce good players and good teams capable of having an impact in europe. Ofcourse its always going to be difficult nowadays to compete with the mega rich clubs who can hand pick the worlds best players but the problem is we just aren't producing even a fraction of the quality players we should and size has nothing to do with it. Our games set-up is poor at every level, under-funded and presided over by idiots who are more interested in what they can take from football than what they can give. Throw in the joke school physical education, booze culture and the embarrassment to call Scottish that is the old firm and here we are. I laughed after the World Cup when i heard the president of one of the African nations was withdrawing the country from international competition until they sorted themselves out. He's probably onto something.
  9. The boys in the north stand with the vuvuzellas worked up more sweat than the ICT players had to.First half was pretty pish and we were lucky to go in 2 up but we looked decent second half. 3rd goal was a peach with great play from Eric and Rooney. Roll on saturday and lets send wee fat Billy Reid packing.
  10. congas are acceptable after 4, pitch invasions on 6 and TB is obliged to give a speech after 7 as far as i'm aware.
  11. sweet!!! Anyone know what our record away score in the SPL is??
  12. WOoooooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thats Russelldinho's for 2010!!
  13. yaaaaaaaasssssssss!! Get in there Rooney!!!!!!!
  14. I think a 16 team league is the way to go.Dont think we have as many as 20 sides capable of living in the SPL. Play each other twice which would increase attendances, four times is boring and decreases the excitement. The shortfall in games could be made up by a restructuring of the cup/s with two legs an option. I'd also like to see us limit the amount of foreigners allowed in a team and see the SFA forge better links with local councils and the education authorities to provide all kids with playing time during and after school under SFA guidance and with use of local club facilities where appropriate to try and improve the national game.
  15. To me, Celtic fans will always be remembered for pitch invading morons, flares thrown, idiotic songs, abusing a bus full of disabled ICT fans after our 1.0 scottish cup win and pro IRA nonsense being sung in the town centre.Best fans in the world though, aye right.
  16. Agree that its harsh to write off Blumanshtein before the season even begins but i'd like to have seen him earn his place. On pre-season showings i would say Nick Ross has earned the nod ahead of him if it boiled down to that but big Terry's the boss and i'll give my support to all who start v the tic.
  17. He's certainly a good prospect and if he gets the nod i hope he shows celtic no respect and plays a belter.
  18. I think they've had some bother with the system recently,it packed in before the CIS cup game and still doesn't exactly seem to be working too great. The volume yesterday was a joke though. :107: To be fair to whoever did the announcements yesterday, some of the Antwerp names were a bit of a mouthfull, but if he improves a bit he'll do alright. I dont really see the need for the announcer to have a big personality or to try and gee up the crowd, most of the time it ends up cringeworthy, anyway, injecting some atmosphere into the TCS would stretch even the best comedians.Someone who just tells me the teams, the 50/50 draw and latest scores elsewhere in a clear manner would do just fine, its the football i go to see.
  19. Thought that was a decent game as far as friendlys go with both teams going for it. Antwerp are a big physical team who play in a similar style to the teams over here and looked a good outfit.Special mention to the 150 odd Antwerp fans who were terrific throughout, very noisy and ensured it wasn't the usual drab pre-season friendly. First half we looked the better side and created the majority of the chances while Antwerp came back into it second half. However their only serious effort on goal, aside from a deflected effort which brought out a fabulous save from Esson, was the headed goal they scored from a corner.Well taken but disappointing defending. Without being too hard on the new signings, with the new season upon us i would say the only one whose shown enough to be considered for a starting slot would be Gillet and the rest have some way to go to displace the players that performed so well last season. We lack creativity without Foran and Hayes and his introduction today brought instant reward.Odiambo also is looking very sharp so hopefully Hayes wont be too rusty come next saturday. Not a bad performance today though all round with plenty chances created, bring on the Celtic.
  20. One of our best players last season IMO.I'd put him right back ahead of macann but would be equally happy to see him in midfield if required.
  21. esson proctor tokely munro gillet hayes duncan cox foran odiambo rooney Thats assuming they're all fit by then.Would like to keep it as settled as poss from last season and let most of the new signings work to earn their places coming off the bench.Tough call between sanchez and eric but after yesterdays show i'd give eric the nod down the middle where he's most effective.
