Fantastic! Brilliant!
Agreed, thank **** it went in ! Total reflex header by Munro, who would not have known whether it was going in or wide.

Fantastic! Brilliant!
Well done guys, the whole country was rooting for you. Having seen the highlights , if I was Rooney I'd be raging with Munro ! Well done Granty all the same !

Call To Arms
Like govan jaggie says! Thistle bar also trashed and Elgin bus pummelled with bottles as it drove by the bar.

Call To Arms
The ICI were Caley and Thistle boys originally put together for a very eventfull trip to Forres for the cup final versus elgin which made the front pages of some of the national papers the following day for non-football reasons! , and yes very 1991 ish, although the merger of casuals did set the tone for an even bigger merger in 94

Our Prayers Could be Answered
I think the refs are bang on and the sfa have already offered some options to improve things.I guess discussions on that will continue at some point soon and I'm sure things will change and hopefully guys like Lennon and John Reid will be dealt with appropriately. I would have rather seen all games off as this foreign ref search is getting beyond a joke but obviously contractual demands seem to come first

Our Prayers Could be Answered
Ok so the refs wont back down and have said they will not officiate on saturday and fair play to them really. The S.F.A are pressing on with finding refs from elsewhere but is it just me or is this all going to end in tears? With clubs and supporters having so much to organise before the games. They better be bloody sure they can pull this off and get the refs over otherwise games should have been called off today.Personally i doubt they can do it. Cheers Celtic you Knob jockies

The Highland Football Academy
I haven't read the OP other posts so dunno if he's on a wind up but the question he asks is sensible enough. The city of Inverness is devoid of quality sporting facilities, ICT much like many other clubs in Scotland have little in the way of top class training facilities of their own and there is a market for a good indoor multi purpose venue here.It would be nice to think local business , local government and the community as a whole could rally together and produce a lovely shiny arena for us all. However, given the economy is going down the toilet etc etc, i'm forced to agree with the nice picture above of a slice of pie in the sky sadly.

Nick Ross called up and scores for U21 Squad
Nice one fella

Our strongest starting 11?
I'd go with that team also. Foran has said numerous times he's prefers playing through the middle or as a striker and with the way Nick Ross is playing i dont think we can drop him. It gives us great attacking options with Hayes on one wing and Ross the other, and the biggest headache for me is whether to play Duff or Mccann.I'd be happy with either though.

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Aberdeen
For me , Tokely was very lucky to stay on the park and looking at it in slow motion i'm not convinced he even got the ball. Doesn't really matter but with 'serious foul play' refs should take appropriate action if a players actions are deemed to put another at risk with reckless tackles etc. Also think the Dons lad was unlucky to be sent packing as it looked unintentional to me but feck it i'll take both decisions and the win ta very much.

BBC Alba tonight 8pm
Hope the Aberdeen boy is ok but Tokely ...

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Aberdeen
I actually feel sorry for the Aberdeen fans with him in charge. I'm sure he also said Diamond and Scotland cap in the same sentence. The Aberdeen defenders soiled their shorts every time Hayes , Rooney and Eric ran at them and he can count himself lucky it was only 2.0. Odi, Hayes , Rooney, Foran and Ross, the ICT Pentagon.!

Home and Away
Aye we're definately better set up to gather points on the road and i wouldn't mind seeing us trying our away tactics at home but there's probably more to it.How many folk will be on the players backs if we sit in at home and hit on the counter? We've seen this pattern develop over numerous seasons in the SPL under different managers. At the moment our defence needs to be stronger to make this work, and with Gillet now out too we could be in for a few hard weeks
-
Talking tactics
I'd agree with most that we miss Duncan. Cox hasn't been at his best and pairing Duncan with Duff could be a decent shout. Our defence is going to be makeshift for the next few weeks at least and the best we can muster would be Proctor/Munro/Tokely/Golabek or Tokely/Munro/Innes/Golabek depending on injuries. Mcbain is not a left back any more than Tokely is so best not make things even more makeshift than we have to because at this level we likely wont get away with it. Most of the rest of the team picks itself with Eric, Rooney and hayes among the first names on the teamsheet and offcourse Foran when he's ready.

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
No wind up - had a double voddie typing my post but - on the box - Rosscoe and Eric were hapless and dire. Rosscoe was hooked back in to central defence becos he was struggling. All the commentators on ESPN commented that Rosscoe was "sleeping" for the second goal and well out of position for the third. As fer Eric he was a figure of ridicule. Two of my English mates watched the game and said that Eric was the most amusing sight that they had seen in years - and felt that he fell on his erse more than Todd feckin Carty on Dancing On Ice. The goal was unbelievably BAD. Aye but did Tokely not go centre defence because Innes was injured and Golly came on to cover left back. Its a wee bit different to being hooked to centre half cos he's struggling. If that was Butchers thinking Proctor would've been subbed in the first half. Anyway, if there's one thing we can take from this its that Butcher doesn't have much faith in Golabek if he can't get a start today given he is our only back up left back.

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
Tokely played pretty poor today but he was out of position. Eric was good i thought and can't see any reason why people would think he had a poor game. Im guessing Innes is out now so its going to be a very out of form defence against Celtic on Wednesday. Golabek---------Munro-------Tokely--------Proctor ????????????? I can't see McBain going in at left back or Cox at right back. swap golly and proctor and that'll probably be it.

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
Aye thought Eric played better than either Ronney or Hayes today and Rossco was our best defender despite playing left back but just shows how everyone see's some things different!

Matchday Thread: ICT v Hearts
First half, we were pretty good and should have gone in one up at the break but for some poor defending of a free kick resulting in Innes putting the ball in his own net. It became clear fairly early on that our defence was not having a good day, Proctor was being absolutely screwed down the right and we seemed to just back off any Hearts players making runs towards goal. Tokely and Esson were fine i thought but this looked like a defence thrown together at the last minute. That said, Hearts were equally poor at the back and this gave hope that we may still go on to win it but they took their chances and we couldn't. I thought Nick Ross had one of his best games in a Caley shirt, especially first half and fully deserved the M.O.M award. Need to see the offside goal again as i'm not convinced it was but by then it was looking like it wasn't to be our day. The referee had a bit of a nightmare all round, Duff should have walked for a second bookable offence as should one of the Hearts players for fouls on Hayes and probably should have given Hearts a penalty as well. We can't have too many complaints about the result but it could have been oh so different.

embarrassed hibs fan view
Thanks for that. From a selfish point of view i really hope you's stay up cos its a guaranteed 9 or 10 points for us each season. All the best

Fraser Feels the Pain
Pulled of one of the great saves at Caledonian Stadium v Celtic but delivery and positioning often let him down.Good luck to him anyway.
