  1. There's portraying an event in a positive light, and there's blatant lies being told to fans. I for one, don't like being lied to.
  2. The appointment of Brewster could be your starter for ten. Warnock announced by the press as a runner for the vacancy, the BoD do nothing to deny this rumour and even go as far as setting up a poll to see who the fans would like, Brewster or Warnock. Surprise surprise, Brewster was offered the job before the job was even available. Donald Park leaving for personal reasons? The John Rankin transfer saga? All of it was smoke and mirrors from the board.
  3. I find your lack of faith disappointing especially when you have the word moderator under your name I appreciate that you are entitled to your own opinion but its the start of the season. Lets not write the team off thanks! Surely if you start a sentence like that, you must be Darth Vader? Distant relative perhaps?
  4. On his last ever game for us, Mr John Rankin punched the corner flag in frustration. He wasn't expecting it to bounce back from its near horizontal position and hit him in the face
  5. Strange times indeed, Keegan and Newcastle part company after an 8 month stint. First managerial casualty of the season?... Link
  6. I echo the sentiments of those who said Ronnie James Dio and James Hetfield. I raise you Jack Black.
  7. I was under the impression that he'd have stayed if we'd have offered him a longer contract. I may well be wrong. He moved back south for personal reasons.
  8. Real fans turn out to support the club , being a supporter means turning out no matter what i'm afraid. If golf is your thing fair enough, but when we get to play Rangers at home in the Cup i bet you will be looking for a ticket. Ah the old "I'm not a real fan" routine. And you're so confident that I'm not a real fan that you add "I'm afraid" at the end of the sentence just to really hammer home, just how sure you are of what you're saying. Does being a "real" supporter also entail foaming at the mouth when reading bad things about ICT?... I'll take you up on that bet, in fact I'll go one further. I bet that until changes are made for the better at the club, I will not cast a shadow over the turnstile there... What do you say? Dont bother me one iota if you stay away from the Stadium, you are the one that bothered to post the story about preferring golf on a saturday, all i trying to point out is that a supporter turns out to support the team throught thick and thin. Anyway, what would you consider changes for the better? when we start winning more games? when Brew leaves? does that not qualify you as a fair weather supporter? My feelings on what would quantify changes for the better are well documented on here. As you didn't spot this, I can tell you the purpose of sharing what I intend to do is indicative of what ICT are facing at the moment. I don't go to the football to be left feeling short changed and frustrated in the evening, I go to be entertained. There are far better value for money options for Saturday afternoon entertainment than what ICT are serving up at the moment and it's not limited to Golf. Call me what you like, obviously I was a fair weather supporter last season when we were forced to endure watching the football equivelance of slop, was I? Who are you to brand me anything? :thumb04:

  10. The choice for me is spend ?300 for a season ticket that I can guarantee will result in a lot of Saturday evenings spent being angry and frustrated by sub-standard football, or spend ?380 on a years subscription to a golf course which will see me get much more enjoyment out of my Saturday afternoon. It's a no brainer for me I'm afraid. Just to see what I was missing out on, I decided to tune into Saturdays game for a while. After hearing numerous mentions of "posession given away" and "long and hopeful ball" I soon switched the radio off. All I intend to do now is watch for the results at 5pm and then come on here to look at folk like Wanderer tell us that if we're in the SPL we should be grateful.
  11. Clearly Brewster has taken on board what I was saying about Zadi, and in a swift move to prove EWS wrong, played him out of the defensive line... Where's that tin helmet gone?...
  12. I at least expected questions that would count towards making improvements... What I got was possible answers that didn't really cover what I feel about the "SPL" experience.
  13. For the purposes of pedantry? What rubbish is that you speak? There are complaints that Brew hasn't signed a defender, but yet we actually have and he was one of the first signings we made. I haven't seen him play yet, so I can't comment on whether I am happy with - but I am going to give him a chance as everyone else should. Has he actually played an SPL match yet? Or are you going to do to him what many did to Zibi Malkowski and write him off before he ever plays a competitive match? You are being pendantic thus for the purposes of pedantry, yes we have signed a defender. What folk are talking about is the desperate need for a centre back. Zadi is not a centre back by any stretch of the imagination. I have not seen him play in the SPL, but I have seen him play in person and yes I am going to write him off before he kicks an SPL football, because if he kicks like he uses his head, he'll close his eyes and miss it completely.
  14. Yes for the purposes of pedantry, we have signed a defender. Are you happy with the signing of him?
  15. You have no idea what Brew has been up to. Would you be happy if he just signed a random defender who was awful? And techincally, he has already signed a defender this season. Of course you are right, but i do know that the defence was shyte last season and nothing has been done, how do i know that, Don calls it right.... there has been no mention at all about bringing in a new defender untill this week. Where have you been? Did you not see that big black man that we signed? To be fair, Zadi isn't a centre back, and he certainly isn't commanding. I'm not even convinced he plays well as a defender; anyone who challenges for a ball in the air with his eyes closed should not be anywhere near the defensive line.
  16. As anti-Brew as I am, you can't lay the blame solely with him for our leaky defence. As soon as Dods announced he was leaving, CC, GB, and now CB should have had a commanding centre back as their top priority. As we saw last season, only Gretna conceded more than us, so clearly McGuire is not the answer to our defensive problems.

    Team For Hibs

With Duncan and Munro out here's what I'd go with. GK Esson RB Proctor LB Hastings CB Tokely CB Duff DM Black RM Sutherland LM Imrie CM Cowie (with a license to go forward in support of front 2) ST Barrowman ST Rooney Esson in place of Fraser to see if we play better without Fraser constantly hoofing the ball far up field when we could play short and promote a passing move to keep possession and build an attack. Proctor is a far better full back than Tokely is at the moment. Tokely moved to CB as I feel he was too slow for the whole of the last season and doesn't carry enough stamina to track back after his forward runs. He has height, so would be man marking Nish. Great partner for Duff as Rossco will keep him straight on positioning. Black in a defensive midfielder role. I know folk will try to tell me he is an attacking player but at the moment I'd prefer to see him here than Duncan (who couldn't pass his way out of a paper bag). Black would cement the emphasis I'm putting on generating passing phases of play and building up attacks with his keen eye for a pass. Their full backs are slow so I think putting Zander and Imrie on the wings will hit them where it hurts constantly beating their man and whipping in a cross from the by-line. The rest of the team, I feel is self explanitory.
  18. I've found the survey to be a complete waste of time. Not worth participating in at all!

    Dewar

I'm sure he teaches PE at Culloden Academy, or he at least used to while I was there...
  20. Really depends on what Exchange your on. As far as I'm aware, both Culloden and MacDhui (sp?) exchanges have an Orange LLU in them. This means that orange and BT themselves are currently providing the best performing broadband to the surrounding areas. I was with Eclipse Internets Evolution broadband offering and the performance was excellent and even better, it was totally un-throttled; I was constantly getting connection speeds at exactly 4.4MBps. For ?15.99 per month I found this to be excellent value for money. The sooner the Highland Fibre Optic rollout begins the better!
  21. To paraphrase Billy Connolly, they have Infra-red camera's, thermal imaging equipment, Digital cameras, 35mm cameras, digital camcorders, tape recorders, digital voice recorders, thermometers and laser trip devices. You have absolutely everything... Except a bloody ghost!
  22. Wrong thread but I know what you're talking about. I don't see why not to be honest. Post it in the Form Golfers sticky thread and you might get a better response.
  23. As is well known, I am not a Brewster fan. But credit where it's due, I hope he turns out to be a great signing. We haven't been handing out 3 year deals for ages but there was another one recently. Was it Barrowman?
  24. Don has three brothers all three were at Ross County. All of them have Highland Amateur Cup medals, and the second oldest has starred in several giant killing Scottish Cup wins for Spartans and Preston. The three brothers all gave up football to continue in other careers and all three could have made it as footballers. Chipper doesn't have a younger brother nor does he have a brother that is a PE teacher. Ryan occasionally plays for Dingwall Thistle, which is a shame as he is a better player than the level they are at currently. The whole family are Ross County fans. However all of them are supportive of Don and all support Caley as well while Don is at the club. Where do you lot get your information from - half of it is a load of rubbish. How about stick to the football! I couldn't have told you how many brothers he has or what their names are. All I knew was he has a brother that plays for Dingwall Thistle and he scored an absolute screamer against us in June.
  25. Black also struggling for fitness for the Accies game according to the Highland News.
