Not aware that Draper has a problem with these surfaces but if he does, then this makes sense.

A red dot for this????????????

Slightly off topic on yesterdays game but after the Ross County game, there were a group of 12 to 15 young fans (between 14 and 16 years old perhaps), trying to goad their fans into a fight. When I told them to grow up and behave, they started challenging me to a fight despite the fact I was clearly dressed in ICT colours. Basically told them to come back when they were old enough but they continued with abuse as I walked away. I sam the same "gang" after the St Johnstone game trying to do the same. Worrying if these idiots drag our good name down and wonder if they were the same "idiots" as yesterday.

Totally agree Renegade although all those fans who could not understand why Hughes had an issue with raven may now be changing their minds. Hopefully it is just a dip in form for Raven but Horner has to start. Why someone would want to start Doumbouya ahead of Fisher, or Boden, is a mystery to me. Jury is out for me on Doumbouya at the moment as for every good thing he did, he then spoilt things by overdoing things or not passing the ball just like Mutoumbo did.Only thing in his favour is he is more physical which should help him.

Hopefully no interest will be shown for Boyd. No pace and not a great defender in my opinion.
-
He needs to get game time and experience, neither of which he will get at ICT at the moment and it would not be good for his development to get thrown into the first team at present. A few months toughening up at Arbroath will do him the world of good.

Really enjoyable match today and a deserved win. Don't think Fon Williams had a real save to make and their goal was one of those that little good be done to stop the great strike from Foster. Good performances all over the pitch but a special mention to Fisher. Found it hard going in the first half but stuck to his guns and got better as the game progressed. If we could find someone to play off him, we could have a real goal threat.

Don't think there was any risk in signing McNaughton based on his previous injuries (broken leg and hamstring injuries) as ruptured Achilles tendon could happen to any player.

For the parts highlighted in bold, pure supposition and speculation on your part. County players primarily coming over for a drink at these breaks, not for pearls of wisdom from the management team or any great encouragement. I sit five rows behind the away dug out so could see what was happening

As per usual, some nonsensical comments on here after this defeat. Let's be honest, most of the fans wanted Foran as the manager so some of the comments made about his management style/tactics etc are the pot calling the kettle black. Of course Foran will make mistakes but he has to be given time to learn his trade and someone has alrteady pointed out, that is why he has been given a 4 year contract. Some of the comments about Foran being too calm on the touchline are just nonsense, you don't have to be shouting at the players all the time to be a good manager, in fact I would say it should be the opposite as the players should be given the responsibility to do their job. Would you want your boss standing over you all the time?. As for yesterday, poor defending cost us the game, end of story. What football was played was only played by ICT as County were content to sit in after scoring their goals and even attempt to time waste during the first half. We were outmuscled by County as well which is a first for me but they are a big physical team this season while we appear to be more lightweight than in seasons gone by. Too many players lost the physical challenge yesterday, not helped by a referee who seemed incapable of recognising a foul. Don't get the criticism of McNaught from some as he was not culpable for the first goal, Warren and Raven saw to that and Raven very culpable for the second. Fon Williams and Warren culpable for the third. Obviously mistakes need to be cut out and getting Meekings back is a priority. To me, Raven has not played well this season and if this continues, needs to be dropped to give Horner a chance. I also don't think we can play Vigurs and Polworth together week in week out as they are too similar and provide little defensive cover in midfield. Therein lies part of the problem as we are playing a very attacking formation but lacking some defensive midfield cover. I genuinely think that with a few tweaks we will be okay this season but okay means staying up and avoiding the play offs. No doubt some will say we are regressing as a club but, let's be honest, we have been punching above our weight and it is going to take a couple of seasons to start to get back perhaps, to where we were. As for the referee yesterday, to be blunt, he was totally out of his depth and lost control of the game. The situation around our first goal was farcial as was his failure to sent Boyce off the field after he had received treatment. It took Draper to point this out to him. Raven got a booking for nothing while Davies fouled Boden and others all afternoon with the referee totally oblivious. One foul he gave against Draper was truly astonishing as the County player was climbing all over him. Keep the faith and support the team. As for Dougal, your posts are truly astonishing in their quality. Please post elsewhere

FFS, perhaps because it is difficult to predict how quickly and injury will heal and how it responds to treatment. Do you seriously believe, along with Dalneigh Caley that we will be given a blow by blow update on every injury situation?. Have you considered that the information on Meekings might have been given to keep Partick guessing on our team and formation.

As is yours to a large extent as well Harry. You may have a point on the contract situation but you cannot force players to sign contract extensions and do you have any proof that any of the players you mention would have signed these?. It is a simple fact of life that if we develop/sign good players, they will leave us at some point and you under estimate the power of agents and players in all this. If we make a loss each season, which we usually do, how can any money be re-invested in the club?. I am not a huge fan of the board, as I think they need to be much more proactive and dynamic but their first duty is to balance the books of the club. The only way for the club to progress is to rear more of it's own players (which then have to be sold to generate a profit), have more fans attend games or seriously raise prices for attendance. As the last two options don't seem to work or have support from the fans, what exactly would you suggest we do?. As for this being out worst result ever, don't think it is. Obviously a bad result but these things happen in cup matches and too many of our fans think we have a divine right to win every game. Sure we were favourites but that is the beauty of cup football. Ritchie needs to learn from his mistakes quickly but a win against County would go a long way to rectifying our poor start to the season.

I think the team selection will depend a lot on how certain players have reacted to playing on artificial surfaces. Don't think Alloa's is the best so team selection may be more difficult to predict as a result. Would not expect Doran to start but come on as a sub.

FFS, one game into the season and this is posted. Unbelievable.
-
I sit in the main stand behind the away dugout and this season, so far, this has been the worst ever for trying to decipher any announcements. Really annoying but, more seriously, what if the tannoy system needed to announce a real emergency, would the crowd be able to hear it?.
-
Pretty shocking that is the game that is being covered with little chance of an upset.
-
Like your earlier post about this being a cost saving exercise, you seem to be totally missing the point on this. Who saying fans will not be allowed in? Ironically this might be an issue if more supporters started to attend on a walk up basis but unlikely this will happen. This is really a non issue with folk jumping onto something which could have been an issue but was not. Once league fixtures kick in, the issue will be even less as season ticket holders use their season ticket books.
-
This is done in the States for some baseball teams but you would then need the turnstiles adapted to accept these I think.
-
Why would this deter the casual fan. You would still have to turn up and pay before. Only thing I have concerns about is the short notice. I have only picked up on this just now and had I known sooner, would have got tickets in advance.
-
Delighted with a winning start. These games are still effectively pre season games so more chance of an upset than normal and folk have to be aware and understand this. Fitness and sharpness levels will come as more games played.

What is apparent from this fiasco is how little the SPFL care about fans with their scheduling of games over Christmas. Surely some account could have been taken of the distances travelling fans have to endure by scheduling games within a reasonable travelling distance. Why do we also need to still operate the 2 home games in succession then 2 away games in succession over a season?. Specifically on the Partick/Motherwell/Hamilton situation, I am not aware of any similar complaints being made when clubs had only 1 fixture against Celtic in recent years and then did not make the top six. I haven't checked the situation but have these 3 teams 2 home fixtures against Hearts as they take a sizeable away support with them which may compensate, in part, for the loss of an old firm game?.
-
But at least some of their fans could have had the grace to accept that their club was in the wrong instead of mooning about how hard done by they were.
-
Whatever happened to the two pre contract signings advised by the board?
-
Welcome to the forum but think you are missing the Thistle part from the club's name!.

And sadly, with some of the central belt media's help, some people will believe this about his reputation.
