This is where we really need the board/manager to have done their homework for next season and identify players now. This has been alluded to by JH but some of this has to be driven by the board. While I accept they have a difficult job to do, I genuinely think they are not proactive enough in football matters and we need a more aggressive figure to lead the board.

It's the players choice to leave but Williams was certainly offered a contract, don't know about Vincent so obviously either went for more money or fancied a change. Not sure what the club could do about that. While Lopez was not a great signing, disagree about Wedderburn and way to early to make comments like this about Hughes. Some fans need to take a reality check at times over what the club can and cannot do. Power is in the players hands now.

How about we get rid of your ridiculous suggestions.

What is this with posters that Vigurs was awful at the weekend. He wasn't and played okay.
-
Dear god, what have ICT done to deserve supporters like Lawrence and Shaun. And by the way, it was not the last few minutes that Falkirk scored in the cup final, that was us Lawrence.
-
I am certainly not complacent but I totally disagree that we footered about for 70 minutes on Saturday. Not the greatest performance admittedly but we were more direct than in previous games and there was not a great deal of the tippy tappy football that we have witnessed previously. The fight and ability is there amongst the players but we need that little bit of luck to spark us (just like County's winning goal yesterday).
-
Totally agree Alex. While stats may say only 1 shot on target, plenty off target due to very poor shooting but at least we were trying. Over the piece, we were by far the better team and did try to create things. I thought we were a lot more direct and using width especially through Williams in the second half and the sideways passing was much less in evidence today. Baffled by those who think the team lacked fight, it was definitely there but this was one of those days, we carried no luck and deserved something from the game. We have played worse and won. Really need to scrape a result from somewhere now and the game against County would be just the place to start. As for the poster who said Hughes was wrongly complaining about the throw in, he wasn't and there were several decisions that the officials got wrong on the stand side all afternoon although nothing major. As for Hughes joking and laughing with the Hamilton bench with a few minutes to go, I sit right behind the away dug out and don't recall seeing that, a case of someone having an unwarranted dig at Yogi. As for Hamilton, every time I have seen them they are an astonishingly dirty and unsporting team. Ref was conned into Devine's booking by the Hamilton player, Morris I think, rolling about as if badly injured then up and running into the box for the free kick. Kurtaj was another who dived at every challenge and won free kicks. As for Imrie, don't get me started. While some of Hamilton's antics amy be called streetwise, I hope we never follow there example.

Agree Kingsmills, the players have to take some responsibility to change things on the park but this seldom happens now and not just with us. A case of being over coached perhaps and not wanting to come out of their comfort zone perhaps.

Don't agree. Storey was a much bigger goal threat when we had Vincent playing but just wonder if he is too injury prone. Would liker to keep both though.

While 2 or more strikers would be food, as long as we have players who can score goals in other areas of the park, which we have, then not too concerned. As other posters have said, the only real way we can compete for certain players is to grow the fan base which is proving difficult to do.
-
Thankfully this saga is now at an end. Those posters that have tried to stir things up, knowingly or unknowingly should be ashamed of themselves. Undoubtedly, mistakes have been made on both sides but at least both parties have been big enough to admit to this. Just because someone says something happened doesn't mean it actually did.

Some awful speculation by some posters on this topic. Who says there is unrest amongst the players? Where is the evidence Hughes has favourites, Butcher and Brewster definitely did. It looks lime more contracts have been offered to players so let's just wait and see who else signs up.
-
This topic is such a waste of time and proves nothing or adds anything to any debate. It really is a non story.

Not so sure that is the case as I find the biggest issue with referees is the sheer lack of consistency with them. One will issue cards for the most trivial offences, the next will not. The same with calling fouls, again one will give a foul for a particular challenge, the next will not. It has to be said also that some refrees appear to be incapable of spotting a foul at all as was the case last week in our game against Partick.

So happy clappers views are worth less then

While not many teams have money for transfers, plenty have money to pay better wages than we can to get players,

Cannot disagree that the game was poor but............. we scorned 3 gilt edged chances, Storey, Draper and Polworth. Had the first two been scored, this would have been a different game. Goals change games and we need to score first and get the team playing more confidently. That is the difference from the County game where we scored 2 goals and the football was better so yesterday could have been so different had we got one of these chances. Partick came for a draw, no doubt of that and tried to make us play through them which we could not do. We did have width with both Mutumbo and Storey providing it and Raven/Tremarco as well at times. The player we are really missing at the moment is Vincent as I think he compliments Storey well and we look much better when he plays. Some of the postings on the game are, as usual over the top, we had a bad day at the office yesrerday, but let's get over it and support the team against Hearts. So many ficklefans on this site. Finally, and this had little bearing on the game, I thought the referee and stand side linesman were amongst the worst I have seen. Linesman seemed unable to make a decision and when he did, invariably got it wrong. Referee was simply dreadful missing so many blatant fouls, or simply saying they were not fouls when the clearly well. Storey in particular was being fouled every time he challenged for the ball yet the defender was rarely penalised. The referee also got some decisions wrong for Partick as well so at least he was consistent. Booking for Vigurs was shocking as either Osman or Amoo totally conned the ref for the booking. Some of the antics of the Partick players was very poor as they seemed to be hit by snipers at times the way they went down. A worrying trend in football as Stirling Albion players did the very same on Tuesday and generally the referee fell for it.

Perhaps because Doran is out injured??. Still think we are a better team with Doran is playing and these comments do not directly relate to Doran at all in my opinion.

matchday thread Inverness CT -V- Stirling Albion (replay)
Huisdean replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Some interesting views on the game. Personally, while not a great performance from us, the only real chances we gave to Stirling were either as a result of our mistakes or committing too many men forward and then getting caught out by a quick break. Posters have been crying out for width in the team and last night we did try to play with that but often with nobody breaking through to take advantage of this. I think we are really missing Vincent at the moment with the runs he makes and if we can get the width into our play along with this, think this would make a difference. Reality is though, we needed to win the game and we did. The cup defence continues.- 68 replies

Roberts has been injured for most of the season and is only getting back to fitness now. Probably still needs to work on his match fitness and cannot just walk into the team. Suggesting Hughes has an issue with Roberts is just pure speculation on your part and is not helpful.

Generally agree with what has been said. 2-0 scoreline probably did flatter us at half time but the chances County created were virtually all down to poor assing in defence by us. This was largely eradicated in the second half and we benefitted from this and should have scored another 2. Thought County were pretty poor especially the new saviours for them, Gardyne and Curran. Onwards and upwards.

Oh yes he is

Only thing that would concern me is that it is a big risk to play Gary Warren when he is not match fit in such an important game.

As I have said on this forum before, let's hope this puts to bed the idea that the club made vast amounts of money from last season and have not invested any money to move the club on. Until we can get attendances up we will make some losses unless balanced out by a good cup run so yet again it is up to the public of Inverness to decide if they want to keep a top flight football team. Whether that will happen...............
