  1. Other than Sergei, I cannot remember "more than 50%" of our fanbase asking for the resignation of any of our managers with the exception of Brew. In fact, we were so loyal that the standing joke on the OffTheBall website where they had a "life expectancy" rating for managers was that it was more likely that someone would catch nessie than ICT would get rid of a manager. Sergei - many wanted him gone, not sure % but it seemed fairly widespread. Pele - The majority begged him to stay. Robbo - The majority liked him I think, and were sad when he went. Brewster (V1) - Most seemed happy with him, especially when ON the park. Charlie - A few more dissenters, but dont think it ever reached 50%. Fan calls for his head were NOT the reason he quit. Brewster (V2) - This is the most dissatisfied I have ever seen our fans and it is not restricted to this website.
  2. regarding multiple accounts: whilst it is true to say that someone with a reasonable level of technical knowledge could create and run several accounts undetected, the truth of the matter is that its not something most users do. Due to recent spammer activity surrounding various forum software packages, we put several checks in place that automatically flag up suspicious accounts to site admin and there have been none recently that warranted further action. PS - another reminder ....... the correct format of a post in this thread is YES/NO + a one line answer if you feel the need
  3. moving this from rumour mill as I am now satisifed (as well as disappointed and upset) that this is not a rumour
  4. A great way to round off his testimonial year eh !!!
  5. i leave others to interpret the data - those are just the numbers ... the first table shows Brewster himself - all seasons, home/away, league/cup, the second shows all managers season-by-season percentages, and the final one shows all managers average over the total games managed for ICT.
  6. Here are the stats for anyone wanting to argue for Brewster CB has taken charge of 109 ICT games. He has overseen 38 wins, 25 draws and 46 losses. His 2008/09 winning percentage is the lowest he has had at the club (32% in 05/06 was the previously low). His losing percentage of 55% is the highest he has had at the club (eclipsing the 51% loss record of 07/08). Overall, his 55% loss rate this season is third on the all time list after Charlie's start to the 07/08 season and Robbo's start to SPL life at Pittodrie in 04/05.
  7. I said it on another thread - he may not be a 90 minute player anymore, but he can make an impact in a situation where his substitution into or out of the game is planned. I also believe that a player of his experience could be immense in a mentorship role with some of the younger players and we should not underestimate that side of it either.
  8. bad move in my opinion, thats all I have to say on the matter.
  9. As much as you want to elaborate on answers and have a go at each other, there are about 30 other threads of a similar nature where that can be done. Please respect the thread starter's request and limit it to yes/no and perhaps a maximum of one (short) line related to your choice if a brief explanation is required. We will delete/move/edit anything else as we see fit.

    indeed
  11. considering Robbo mentioned on Sportsound that "I have Graeme Bennett here with me now" (just before the team ignored him and went to Ibrox), I think the suggestion that he is in Tenerife may be erroneous.
  12. How s*** Hamilton are is of no consequence .... we are dire at home and this must be addressed, forget about anyone else....
  13. "Sometimes, people need to take a reality check" ... INDEED !!!!! However, I would suggest that the person actually needing the reality check is the manager !
  14. Fair play to Robbo ..... we have moaned over the years about central belt bias, especially in the media, so its nice to have someone like him in the camp who will stick his neb in and say "whoa, hold on a minute, thats a load of *****" when faced wit generalities or stereotypical attitudes with no basis in fact.
  15. Was it ever in doubt ? http://www.highland-news.co.uk/news/fullst...T_fan_plea.html Don't necessarily agree with Brew, but can at least give him credit for trying to explain why he made it .... at 4:45 he will either be hero or villain.
  16. What is up Jim Spence's ****. A few nice points made by Robbo ---- 1 game in 6 years called off !

  18. yup. big thumbs up for that one don't know about you guys over there, but over this side of the pond a lot of teams and/or sports stars are finding endorsements or sponsorships difficult to come by these days anyone want to buy an F1 team ? http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/motor-r...il-1053441.html
  19. Which part - The Mr B. part, or the tried and traditional way we seem to handle contracts ? The Mr B. part is true ... he does NOT represent the BBC on here, in exactly the same way as you always maintained that you did not represent Marius ! Like you, he may seek to set the record straight based on conversations or knowledge of something we dont know or have overlooked, but at the end of the day he doesnt represent them. As for the contracts, lets look at my theory ...... Step 1: The club make a lowball offer at the start of the season, see if anyone takes it, or will come close to agreeing to it with a slight enhancement. Result: Grant signs, Cowie Fraser and Black do not. Most of us don't know the contents of the offers, so we can't really say whether they are lowball or not, but only Granty who is a career player at ICT and unlikely to move sees fit to sign his. The others either dont like it for some reason and reject it (Black, Fraser) or on the advice of their agent, decide to wait and see what options they have come the transfer window (Cowie). Step 2: Put on the poker face and wait a while and hope to discuss it later. Result: A lot of posturing, but no actual evidence of further discussions. Where my theory might be wrong is that its not only the club putting on the poker face but also the players, or at least Cowie. He has always maintained he would wait until the window so there is not much the club can do and I would say we have got to accept he will be offski and it will not be Grassa's fault. Black said he had not had an offer but perhaps what he meant was he had not had an an offer worth considering. I think Black is an important player and we should do what we can to try and keep him. He seems settled in the area and from what I have heard wants to stay despite his run-ins with Brew. If he has been made a lowball offer then the club should put a realistic one in front of him that he would consider. I fear however that this will not happen and we will lose him too. Of the three, Ike seems to be in the least strong position. He is not firmly established as #1 and Esson has done well since coming in, McNulty is also a competent young keeper who could potentially be #2 to Esson if Fraser decides to move on. Ike didnt seem too far away from signing at the start of the season so maybe a slight nudge in the contract will persuade him. Of the three, I would say Blackie would be the biggest loss as he is one I fell we could keep if the offer made to him is right. I suspect that Cowie has already decided to go and much as I feel for Fraser having sat on the bench for 150+ games when Brown was at the club, he has not made the #1 slot his own yet and will have to keep fighting Esson for it.
  20. Mr B does not represent the BBC when he comes on here, just like he doesnt represent the educational authorities !! We all quote BBC articles on here from time to time as its one of the best resources available. The only difference is that Charles can often quote articles he himself has written. At the end of the day, this is about the new contracts and we are being dragged off on a tangent. Reading the thread, and the same articles as everyone else, it would seem that the club may have taken the normal route they have been following for years ..... make a lowball offer at the start of the season, see if anyone takes it, or will come close to agreeing to it with a slight enhancement, and if they don't, then put on the poker face, wait a while and hope to discuss it later when the player is worried they might not get a better offer ...... Its worked for us in the past, its backfired on us in the past and I fear it will backfire on us again on this occasion as both Cowie and Black would be considered first teamers at most SPL clubs outside the OF. There will be no shortage of offers and we will quite simply not be able to compete with them.
  21. If we lose Black, Cowie and to a lesser extent Fraser, it will be a HUGE blow to the club. Are these players really asking for so much that we cant accomodate it within our budget ? I guess we dont really know as the numbers arent public.

Ahh Charles, I think CaleyD is scrambling to make the point that although the poster was correct in saying it was equivalent to a 2.13% cut over the original price + vat @ 17.5% as you so clearly pointed out, the poster didnt make the distinction that it was 2.5p per pound. However, having said that and using your formula again (which is correct) surely it should be a 2.13p reduction per pound equivalent rather than 2.5p. bottom line - its all a bunch of semantics and there is not much to discuss really as the club are passing on the reduction and will probably put the prices up next year anyway so the whole thing will be moot.
  23. The days of him being a 90 minute player who could impact a game at any point are indeed well behind him but to call him a "passenger" is short sighted IMHO. He can still impact a game if used tactically. Put him on for the first 60 minutes of a game and make a planned substitution when its time for him to come off, or put him on for the last 30 in another planned substitution. Off the park, he is the sort of player - with or without coaching badges - who should be able to help, inspire, and give his experience to younger players such as Zander or Dougie. dont underestimate the mentorship role he could play.

The math seems relatively fine, perhaps it might have been clearer if the poster had said 2.5p "in the pound" cut rather than 2.5p cut. On a ?20 ticket, thats 50p. I must admit I did do a double-take on the 2.13% figure though? Surely 2.5% is 2.5% regardless of which ticket ? Is there VAT on child tickets ?
  25. Scotty replied to 12th Man's topic in Caley Thistle
The club arent mugging anyone - they are reducing the prices in line with the reduction in VAT http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1473219,00.html
