You are my Imrie... my Dougie Imrie
Imrie is one of those players with the potential to be a future ICT "Legend" in the same mould as Rosscoe. He is not the best player in the world, but he is as determined as ****. That can also be evidenced by his career progression over the last few years ... juniors to SPL in a very short time. He takes a lot of that determination and hunger onto the pitch and ICT fans will back any player who gives it 100% I am going to say something positive about Brewster now so those that need to, please sit down !!! When I was over in April, I enjoyed the ICT 3-0 Killie game. Dougie was still blending into the team and I was very impressed with Brewster's handling of him in that game. The pressures were similar to the ones we have now (hadnt won at home all year except against Gretna) and Brewster spent a lot of time during that game cajoling a performance out of Dougie, telling him where to position himelf, and generally encouraging him to perform. that was the game where he scored his first goal and his determined performance was a big factor in the victory .... so fair play to Imrie and in that game at least, fair play to Brew !!!!

Player of the Year Poll
NO. We have not allowed TV votes since it started 7 years ago, and have no plans to change that.

Richard Hastings
Canada were already out and the coach opted to go with youth. Possibility that the coach may be sacked so there must be question marks over Hastings' international future at age 31.

''i know'' postings
I am sometimes as clueless as everyone else ...... although it is fair to say that some information I am given is best described as "background" info not for publication and if someone says that to me, I tend to respect their request.

Because the evidence hasn't been put in the public domain yet. Jay_7 - one thing about "****", especially **** that you try to hide, is that it ALWAYS hits the fan eventually. If my opinion above proves to be totally wrong, you can be sure that this will come out in the end...... sometimes you have to play the long game and wait to see what happens.

As I said above, there are plenty of examples of how he has helped the club through difficult times when no-one else could or would have done so. I was very close to the action during his ascendence as shareholder then chairman first time round and I am convinced that without his assistance, contacts and business know-how we quite simply would not be having this discussion right now as we would have either gone out of business or at best be plying our trade in the lower leagues or even back in the Highland League. We were so broke at the time that I myself (via the website and a lot of on the ground haranguing of people) was working on a "pay a player" fundraising scheme before he took over .... such was the dire condition of the club's finances. Some of what he has done is known publicly, but there are a lot of other things that were done privately with no fanfare which reduced costs at the stadium in a time of great need such as using staff seconded or loaned from other businesses, or even small things like providing the odd bits an pieces of office supplies or furniture. It is something that was echoed on a smaller scale by some of our other directors too. I am not so naive that I think it was all done for no gain. As CaleyD has pointed out there are indeed question marks over the stadium that have still to be answered, and I dont think there is any question that he boosted his own personal and company profile locally by helping ICT when he did. He also helped other organisations in the local area (highland games, nairn pipe band etc) and at the end of the day I believe Tulloch profited from this in terms of goodwill. The public and local governmental perception of them would have made it easier to sell houses (when the market was good) and easier to be trusted when making planning applications that might be viewed suspiciously if it came from other non-local companies. As a shareholder, I am interested in finding out the answer to CaleyD's question about stadium ownership. I don't believe the answer will be as sinister as some people believe, but it is clear that the current situation is different to that which the shareholders voted on back when it happened. However, it is equally clear that this is something that will not be answered in open forum and the time and place to ask for detailed answers to this question is at the next shareholders meeting. As for him "strangling" the club or "holding us back", I simply do not know. I am prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt based on what has gone before and I can tell you from my dealings with him is that he is most definitely a supporter, just like the rest of us so I dont think he would do that, nor do I think he would purposely try to orchestrate a scenario whereby we were relegated as some have suggested. I was disappointed that he seemed unable to work with Alan Savage as AS did seem to have ideas that would propel us forward. Mr Savage spoke of interference during his chairmanship and that should not have happened. I am guessing here, but as i mentioned on another thread somewhere, perhaps it was a clash of visions on how to achieve the same goal ..... We know that DS came in, sorted out our finances, put systems in place and turned us into a fiscally responsible outfit .... and I think we can also see that AS wanted to move us forward, had many ideas on how to do this, and may have been more prepared to take a few risks to get there. Perhaps Mr Sutherland, who had seen us at the precipice before, didnt like this idea of risk and made it known ...... perhaps he was right, given the current economic climate, and perhaps we might even say he saw that coming given his recent diversification of business interests away from the building trade before the worst of the recession started hitting ..... At the end of the day, my biggest disappointment is that these two obviously astute businessmen could not have met somewhere in the middle and figured out a way to do both .... move us forward whilst spending within our means. so to sum up - as far as I am concerned, DS is a businessman, a supporter, and someone who may very well profit personally if ICT were to move from the TCS. However, as a supporter, I do not believe he would allow that profit to take precedence over the wellbeing of ICT.

Brewster is the man for the job
I have split the David Sutherland posts off into a different thread. Although there is obviously some overlap between the subjects, lets try to kee this one on topic.

Brewster is the man for the job
You and I both know it does not.

I'll be quite honest and say I dont really understand a lot of the stadium trust details but back when it happened, I know that our debt disappeared overnight and we were once again solvent. At the time when this happened we were seriously in danger of imploding and going the way that Gretna did and however it was done, his plan breathed new life into the club. If he hadn't have done it, this conversation (and website) would probably be redundant. Mr Sutherland may gain out of it, and gain quite handsomely if anything ever happens on this front, but I remember a lot of fans at the time saying that they didnt mind this as he did quite literally save the club. Are we opposed to moving if the deal is right ? I don't think so .... a lot of fans would have been happy to transfer the lease to Asda a year or two back in return for a nice purpose built stadium that fitted our needs a bit better than the TCS .... so if it were to be transferred to Tulloch on the same terms would there really be a problem ? Tulloch have done far more for ICT than Asda ever has !!!! At the end of the day, Mr Sutherland is a very successful businessman and has made his living by making the right choices, and probably being quite ruthless when he has had to be but I don't believe that he would do something to the detriment of ICT as *****ing on your own doorstep is not good for business. Anyhow, I really came on this thread to get it back on topic before entering my own off-topic rant !!!! So slaps all round to all of those taking it off topic (including me) and lets get it back on topic as it is drifting quite considerably .....

New Kits
I don't really want to burst anyone's bubble as there have been some cracking and imaginitave designs, but you have to remember one crucial thing ..... The type of designs available WILL be limited to those that are included in the vendor's templates for the relevant year. I very much doubt that Caley Thistle have the clout, or the level of shirt sales where they could force Errea (or any supplier for that matter) to come up with a custom design template ... we will be forced to select a shirt from one of maybe a dozen pre-defined templates and customise it that way. As I mentioned above, I have added the PSD files for 07/08 and 08/09 to our download section and the two designs I added in my postings above came from the Errea files included in those PSD files. A step forward would be the club asking for, and receiving templates for the 09/10 templates ahead of schedule which would allow the fans to work with those templates and come up with something that Errea would actually be able to produce. in fact, I may add that question as one of my own for next month's BB.

Contracts (Merged)
I would agree with that Stevico.

Contracts (Merged)
At the end of the day we are assuming the club are at fault here, and that could well be true but has anyone considered that the players might also be taking time to consider their options..... I think Cowie was quoted as having said something to that effect quite recently. Also .... If there are problems behind the scenes - as has been speculated with comments about lack of respect for the manager etc - then its only natural that employees might take there time before committing to more of the same.

By establishing a supporters section in exactly the same way as Toronto FC did. In the case of TFC it is the whole south stand, and has just expanded for next season by another couple of sections due to its popularity. In these sections supporters are encouraged to stand and be noisy, flags and banners are tolerated, they even built a "capo stand" at the front of the section. Those who want to complain that its too boisterous for them are told from the very start ... DO NOT buy a ticket in this section if you do not want to be subjected to noise, standing etc. Other parts of the ground are non-standing and that suits those who want to sit and not partake in the mayhem just fine ....... OK, so there are economies of scale here .... TFC get 20,000+, ICT get 4000, but the same principle could apply. We have a family section, why not a section for those who want to make a noise, sing, stand etc ..... relax the rules a little bit, allow as much standing as you can without annoying the powers that be in the SFA/SPL, allow fans to have (non offensive, funny or supportive) banners on display, and encourage the fans to enjoy .... yes thats the word .. E-N-J-O-Y .... their football. The fans for their part would also have to "screw the nut" ..... if allowances were made, then boundaries would have to be respected ... you might be able to push the boundaries from time to time, but sometimes the fans have been their own worst enemies by going too far and obliterating what boundaries were drawn up for various tests .........

New Kits
And look at the first picture submitted by the poster !!! not the one in the first post, but the one in his next post which contains three designs for a home strip (and three for away). Anyhow, lets not get fixated on this. the thread is about new strips and GRINGO JNR, as there seems to be enough interest, how about YOU tell us if you would like your thread split into two ... with a thread for Home designs and a separate one for Away ones ....

It seems to be one of the remits. Look at the guys Tottenham have had in recently. Also Mijatovic at Real though I think he is more a Sporting Director. He decides who Schuster can and cannot buy. It may be one of the remits at other clubs, but not at ICT AFAIK

New Kits
What can only be red and black? Next seasons replacement away strip....................which is what this thread is about. actually, this thread is about "new kits" in general, I don't think Gringo JNR specified away kits although we know that this is the one that is changing next year and the one that the club have invited suggestions about ..... for what its worth, I would be happy enough with red and black, even though this year's away strip is black with touches of red

New Kits
The main reason for changing kits is to generate commercial sales ..... and teams like Celtic seem to do that with ease just by making subtle changes ..... their home kit (as we know) is green and white hoops and all they seem to do year-on-year is vary the thickness of the hoops, or the detail that is watermarked into the white hoops .... we could do the same with thickness of the vertical stripes, or switching the order of the blue and red stripes ... most footy fans will still buy the new kit, even though it is similar to the previous one. At last count, I think I had 8 different home tops as well as 4 different away ones ........
