I could go along with that
  4. Are you suggesting that those of us overseas, and who continue to provide certain services to the club and its supporters on a strictly gratis basis are actually second class supporters deserving of inferior treatment !!! :tic01: btw - I can give you my paypal address if you want to fork out for my plane ticket :blah01:

agree. It would also mean they would have to start marketing it in March/April .... catching supporters before the end of the season when their football interest is still high and not mid summer when they are wondering how to pay for that nice holiday ! Like everything in life, timing is crucial !
  6. [li]Are you an overseas supporter ? [/li] [li]Are you tired of not being able to get coverage of ICT games most weekends because its blocked ?[/li] [li]Would you consider subscribing to a service to get coverage ? [/li] [li]Are you willing to allow yourself to be counted in "aggregate data" (ie. counted but not personally identifiable) for statistical purposes to be presented to both the media & football authorities ? [/li] If you can answer yes to most of these questions then drop me a line or make your interest known in here and I will contact you with details of a project myself and one or two others are working on that is designed to raise awareness of the plight of those of us who are "Overseas and Overlooked"

    excellent comments here ....... [CLICK]
  8. SP - not sure what your deal is with Shaw, but with Rogers, we can add Setanta to our cable for $14.99 per month. I thought that sounded alright so decided to make a few enquiries when they had the free preview service. I emailed them and specifically asked about their coverage of the SPL .... and this is what I was told. 1. There will be NO live coverage of the SPL on a regular basis. The odd game may be shown 'delayed' where scheduling permits, or maybe even live if it doesnt include one of the OF, but its on a very haphazard schedule (basically, if they cant show something else !!!) . 2. Unlike Setanta USA, Setanta Canada will not be allowed to show the SPL highlights programme or any panel discussion programmes. no reason given but suspect this is not Setanta's fault, more likely the CRTC or some obscure CanCon rule. 3. Games involving the OF will NOT be shown. In North America, Celtic and Rangers have allowed affiliated members of the federation of Rangers/Celtic supporters' clubs to get the rights. These games must be shown in commercial establishments who have subscribed to the premium channel (only available to pubs) and viewers must be charged $20 per head cover charge which is remitted to Setanta. As Setanta put it in the email, "we are only the conduit that the supporters clubs use for their feeds".

GJ - glad you like my ideas .... I dont think there is anything there that would be difficult or costly to implement. The "flexi pack" idea came straight from Toronto FC and while the MLS may not be that highly regarded, the people behind Toronto FC have more than 80 years of experience promoting the likes of the Maple Leafs, Raptors, and now TFC .... They know their **** when it comes to marketing on both a small and large scale and I think most fans who go to TFC games feel valued ..... If the club can come up with a strategy for season tickets that is inclusive - and allows those with money to pay it at once, those who need to spread the cost to do so, and those who live further away (or work weekends) the ability to pick and choose their games then I think it may go a long way to increasing sales and also making fans feel valued - something that has been rapidly draining away in recent years. That would just leave the overseas fans like myself (and many others) feeling excluded ... and if the club can get the finger out and investigate the option that PTV make available to all their customers which is to implement the "<club> World" service that allows all fans to subscribe to audio/video highlights, all fans to get live audio, and overseas fans to get live video, for a yearly subscription fee then I am sure that we would also feel valued as well as adding money to the ICT coffers ......

While you are correct in what you say RiG, I believe this was not the case with that section for this game. If my sources are correct, it had more to do with the lack of that stand being included in the stadium safety certificate .... I am sure that will be rectified for the next "big" game
  13. About as close as Canadian is to Mexican !
  14. Go to the "Main Site" and have a look underneath the pictures showing the latest gallery links .... We added a number of ICT specific RSS feeds from BBC, Setanta & P&J about 8 months ago ... We also have a link on the left of the main page for NEWSFEEDS where you can find some more generic football or SPL stuff. We are happy to add any others who have a dedicated ICT feed ..... The Courier has a generic sport feed, the nationals dont tend to have a specific ict feed, and the official site has nothing .... but if you know of any that do have ICT feeds, let us know. However, what we will do, is make things like this more apparent via the use of what we hope will be a simple and easy to use menu system, and we should also have the ability to pull some of the feeds right into the forums for discussion Caley - Until about 3 months ago we had a "links" tab at the top of this page right next to the calendar/chat links .... We added a few sites to it, but in nearly 6 months it was hardly viewed and not a single link was submitted so we removed it ! If we come across this feature we may add it, but it wont be something we spend a lot of time on. TCF - what you describe can go in a user profile. There will be plenty room for people to do that (or not) Calum RnB - Think this might be something for the official site as we dont have unfettered access to those at the stadium. We did have a Q&A with Alan Savage a while back and he said he would be happy to do it again so who knows what might transpire. Its one we can keep in mind for ongoing discussions about how (if) this site can work alongside the official one ......
  15. A club channel showing audio/video highlights and live audio/video for subscribers on the official ICT website ... like virtually every other site PTV provide would be a start ! The application of media rights in the SPL are both a minefield and a f***ing joke - just ask any one of our overseas supporters ... most of whom are chomping at the bit to be able to subscribe to such a service whether through the SPL itself, the BBC or preferably ICT
  16. ICT have Polish connections too ....... Red Card Reilly :015: :015: (oh, and Zibi :023:)

I always used to like Wee Gordon Strachan's quips on the radio ... like saying "velocity" when asked for "a quick word" .... and such like, but clearly he has been in the Celtic job too long as the paranoia has set in and its always someone else's fault, the referee was biased (pot, kettle springs to mind), the pitch was not up to much, the other team have more money to spend than he does etc etc etc ..... WGS now seems to stand for Wee Gurny S****bag and he makes me want to vomit when I see his face !

The club should take a multi level approach. [li]Review season ticket offer. Make it attractive for people to buy tickets for the whole or partial season well in advance. [li]A nicely priced full season pack available early and with a monthly direct debit option to make it affordable for most.[/li] [li]A 'flexi' package that might appeal to those who live far away or work some weekends. You get say 6 or 8 games of your choosing over the season including a voucher you can use for one 'big' game[/li] [li]Price, Price, Price ..... As GJ mentions, its cheaper to get into Tynecastle than the TCS. Make the prices for season books attractive, and get it in early ... it should be available in April/May. The club gets the money in early, and the interest from that will offset the couple of quid per ticket they lose by reducing prices.[/li] [/li] [li]Sensible 'walk-up' pricing. Not everyone will buy a season ticket for various reasons, but most would probably agree that there should be a sliding scale depending on the opponent. Playing the OF? you will fill the ground at full price, playing Gretna or St Mirren will be a struggle to fill half of it at the current scale.[/li] [li]Voucher scheme. Aberdeen did it very succesfully for years when I went to uni there in the 80s. You want a ticket for the Celtic or Rangers games ... If you dont have a season book then you need to swap 2, 3, or 4 vouchers from lesser games to get it. Encourages occasional supporters to come to these games [/li] [li]Sensible Family Pricing. Kids and families need to be encouraged along - extend family pricing throughout the north stand and wings of main stand. Its really expensive (and discouraging) if you cant get into the KBFE[/li] Kingsmills - crowd was 7004 (officially) of the capacity of 7522. From what I hear, the club were not allowed to sell tickets for the singing section for some reason.

Some people accuse this site of always being full of moaning barstewards .... and on occasions this is very true, but we have always had far more than our fair share of them down at the stadium too regardless of which division we have happened to be in at the time. Yesterday was a great result for so many reasons, 2-0 down coming back to win 3-2, putting one over on one of the so-called "top 16" of Europe, getting us up to 7th spot in the table when only a few weeks ago we were 11th and things were looking bleak, a midfield that is looking classy, a right back who people thought was garbage turning out to be pretty decent, our Romanian star showing some sublime touches, and a keeper who many doubted just a few weeks ago pulling of some good saves and one spectacular one ....... Of course there were a few negatives too like defensive mistakes that cost a red card, or the lack of pace of Marius when he might have got clean through late in the second half but the positives far outweighed the negatives I can only hope that some of the negative things on this and other threads are meant to be sarcastic or tongue in cheek otherwise there are quite a few who might need a reality check. I didnt like all the "club of our size" comments that were trotted out by Charlie every week, and said so, but the reality is that we are a small side (in terms of resources, fanbase, and infrastructure), but once again we are achieving in excess of what is expected. I dont say we are "punching above our weight" as that would be disrespectful to the players, but we are definitely achieving in excess of what was expected ... especially after our poor start. Brewster (and his backroom team), regardless of what you, me, or anyone thinks seems to have got the pride and passion back and with the extra training we are again looking fit and up for games. I still have my reservations, but 12 points out of 12 including a first ever league victory over Celtic is pretty hard to criticise.
  21. The stuff you rub on your sunburn, or your *** after its been bitten by a funnel web spider :blah01: :blah01:

  23. Here's a Christmassy scene from my own front garden ..... the wall is just under 2ft high, and i swept the driveway an hour ago - theres another 2 inches on it since then ! The bank of snow in the middle - which came from the driveway is about 4ft high ... it was feckin backbreaking !!! [attach=1] DSC00040.JPG_thumb
  24. I know where you are coming from too .... and I can think of a few where you are correct .... but the ref had no choice with Proctor..... the surprising thing is why Pressley didnt get any action taken against him ... if the ref felt a penalty was merited, then a card should have followed there too.
