  1. very good question. no idea.
  2. Based on listening to games and on the single match I saw in person this season ( :007: ) Fraser :022: :022: :022: - When listening to games it quite often sounds like he simply does not like to catch a ball and I was a little nervous of him. However last weekend he looked confident and caught everything sent into the box. Tokely :022: :022: :022: :022: - quite simply a legend as opposed to a leg-end. I was impressed with him on Saturday despite his couple of "Gumpesque" moments as he approached the box and seemed to be in half a dozen minds about what to do. He is and has been a solid performer for years. This might not have been his best season as he has made his share of mistakes but overall he is still a favourite of mine. Munro :022: :022: :022: :022: - A hard season for the captain. Rumoured off-field problems that invariably draw the captain into the mix didnt help his early performances but lately he seems to have been playing well. Is Bambi (or the lack of McGuire) a factor ? McGuire :022: :020: :020: - some decent performances hence the thumbs up but overall not impressed. Unfortunately didnt get to see him perform in person so can only base my view on listening to other's descriptions. Proctor :022: :022: :022: - I was one of only a few who liked him first time round and what I saw on saturday was a versatile player with a lot of potential. Perhaps needs to get into the gym and beef up a little but no doubting that he has the ability to hold down a first team place. Hastings :022: :022: :022: - Richard gets an extra :022: from me for his performances for Canada. He might not have had a shining season for ICT but Canadian fans have welcomed him back into the international fold after complaining about his recall initially. Interesting that his good performances for Canada have been at centre half whereas ICT fans think he had a somewhat poor season at left back. Wilson :022: :022: :022: - Whereas some players lose it when they get older Barry is still an intelligent player. His pace has gone but his intelligence allows him to read the game and have an impact. Worthy of a rolling yearly contract. Cowie :022: :022: :022: :022: - An intelligent player who can turn a game in the right circumstance or when played in the right position. He will undoubtedly move on at some point but if we can keep him for another year or two we will hopefully see some great central midfield performances from him. Black :022: :022: :022: :022: :020: - 4 thumbs up for Blackie but also a thumbs down. He is a great talent but also seems to have an ego to match. If he can do his talking on the park then its a great thing for ICT but if his petulance cant be channeled then he might have to go for the good of the team as a whole. Agree with those who say "Jekyll and Hyde" Duncan :022: :022: :022: - One of the unsung heroes as people have often said. My opinion has been a little tainted by the contract saga and the fact that McBain has done a better job in that position in the last couple of games. McBain :022: :022: :022: - Royster seems to be playing in a different role than other times I have seen him in person. I enjoyed his performance on saturday and thought he played very well. He also did well at left back earlier in the season so is perhaps more versatile than I had once thought. Paatelainen :020: :020: - Not impressed. He plays better on the radio than in person. Imrie :021: :021: :022: - I have heard varying reports of Imrie but was quite impressed on Saturday. He took his goal beautifully and enjoyed every second of it. He is very raw but coming from the Juniors to SFL to SPL in a short time that is not entirely unexpected. I did notice that both Brewster and Malky spent a long time during the game keeping him right, encouraging him, and making sure he was where they wanted him. If they can develop him then he will indeed be some player. Wyness :022: :022: :020: - Sorry Dennis, the dream is over. Dennis is a good player, a really nice man and he is and always will be a legend for ICT fans who have been around for a long time but he either has no confidence (again) or simply cant handle the SPL any more. SPL defenders all know his stepover and he seems to have no other tricks in his arsenal Bayne :020: :020: :020: - He is a striker who doesnt score goals. We like him because he gives 110% but its his job to put the ball in the back of the net and he doesnt do it often enough. Niculae :021: :021: :021: :021: :021: - I was glad to get a glimpse of Niculae before the end of the season as who knows whether he will be there next season. I hope he is as he is quite simply a class player and a fit Niculae along with maybe Garry Wood and a skillful midfield might see us come flying out of the gates. He took his goal on saturday beautifully and it was one of those that you knew was going in as soon as he got the ball. Hart :022: :022: :022: - Good luck at County. I for one would have liked RH to have stayed. We all make mistakes and he could still do a good job for ICT. McAllister :020: :020: :020: - See Graham Bayne !!! Brewster :020: :020: :022: :022: :022: - This is a hard one. I am torn. 10 days ago I would have put 5 thumbs down but it is amazing how seeing a game in person and talking to a few people off the record will change an opinion. Brewster is making some massive changes in the background and we have only seen some of the results so far. I dont like all that has happened, or the manner in which it has been portrayed, but I do understand some of the background a lot better now than I did before and he may not be the devil that has been portrayed (more to come on this later). Brewster will either be a massive success next season or he will fall flat on his face but I now believe that he should be given the chance to continue down the path he has started to take us along.

    Don Cowie

A Ross County fan says that DC is being sought by 3 SPL clubs. If you believe the story then its the clubs looking at him not him wanting away. Give the guy a break !!! If we dip into the real world for a second, we all know that any player we have who performs to a good standard will always be looked at by other clubs who are either bigger than us or who have the ability to pay more to the player. It does not automatically make the player a bad guy, mean he will go, or even that he wants to go. Cant fault the guy for having ambition. If a player shows loyalty to ICT while he is with us and gives 100% on the park then I for one do not grudge them for moving on "at some point". Doesnt sound like he is knocking down the manager's door asking for a transfer, merely stating that he is an ambitious player who wants to perform at the highest level at some point in his career. We are always going to lose players in this type of scenario because despite ICT playing at the highest level in Scotland we are not the best team at that level. I am sure that fans of County, Clyde, or other teams where we take our players from make similar comments when one of their players moves to another level with ICT !!!!!

    Ticket Prices

At least they are trying. I have a little sympathy for the club on this one as its a bit of a balancing act !!! Reduce prices for some games and you will please non season ticket holders and kids but at the same time run the risk of annoying season ticket holders who think their ticket purchase is being devalued. As a former season ticket holder, I can see both sides. I enjoyed the security that having the season ticket allowed me ... When you worked out the cost, you knew you were getting it a little cheaper than the cost of paying in to every game but for me the biggest benefit was knowing that whatever game came along I was always going to get first refusal on my own seat. The downside is that come the end of the season you pretty much knew the club would do some sort of incentive to get bums on seats and that meant your saving was less. It irked me slightly sometimes but overall I was happy because the guaranteed seat was worth more to me than the so-called 'devaluation' of my ticket. However, as the club tend to do exactly the same thing towards the end of each season, perhaps it would be nice if they could come up with a long term plan to try and please everyone a little bit better throughout the complete season. There are all sorts of good ideas floating around that have been posted on here or talked about in the past ... the trick is to present them constructively to the club so that they might actually listen to ideas rather than be faced with what might be viewed as bitching and moaning.
  5. The power of reason Johnboy ... you should try it some day !!! It allows you to change your opinion based on actual events and admit you were wrong !!! It wasnt a wonderful performance yesterday, and I agree that it was a "meaningless" game in the general scheme of things, but I spent much time watching what Brew/Malky were doing, and how certain players were (or were not) performing. Based on what I saw with my own eyes, and comments I have received first hand from a few sources this past week, I realise I may have been too hard on Brewster and too lenient on others and will expand on this when I return to normal internet availability during the week.
  6. Watching a game in person gives you a different perspective to listening to it online or hearing about it third hand. After today, I just want to say that I think Brewster may well be turning the corner and be a decent manager ... if off-field stuff can be sorted. I enjoyed my first game in person for a while, saw some good performances (and some not so good ones) but I now believe (will expand on this later as I only have limited internet access right now)
  7. H-Dee - wont make it to Pivo - who is it ?
  8. I think one of the mods/admin will win ....... now where is that button to lock the thread....... :015:
  9. yes I did. When interested he was OK, when not interested he was utter garbage. It was alleged he was told to lose a stone or two over the close season and he did but doesnt seem to fit into John Carver's plans now.

  12. very true. I only ever had limited dealings with him for our Q&A session but he seemed decent enough at that time. I do also tend to agree with CaleyD comments too.
  13. I spotted one at Toronto FC's first game (and almost every game after that) ..... I knew who it was though .... luvgravy !!!
  14. Its the 42 games where he came on as a sub that skew those stats Alex. A lot of them were appearances of just a few minutes, but not all !!!!
  15. FlyBe - 8.29 each way if booked well enough in advance !!! (+ tax !!!)
  16. Agree with this although its not just an Inverness trait - it happens everywhere. When I lived in Inverness, anytime I used to travel whether for university or for holidays etc. I used to get goosebumps once you passed Daviot, came up the hill, over the top, and then started seeing Inverness in the distance (or not so distant these days). It is still the same for me now although I now tend to see it and experience those feelings from the air as its easier to get there from Toronto via one of the London airports. I could rhyme off many reasons why I think Inverness is better or worse than some places for differing things but at the end of the day it will always be where I was born and where I have roots so I am biased and perhaps both overly critical and overly protective when people slag the area off. Any time I speak to people over here I always find it easy to put a positive slant on the area but on a forum like this talking with other Invernessians or others with an affinity for the area, then it is easy to ***** and moan because deep down we all know we love the area so we are not really meaning to be disrespectful. I think a few of the posts have hit the nail on the head. The problem is pre-conceived perceptions. Inverness is perceived by some in the central belt and beyond as being somewhere north of the Arctic circle where all the natives still only get a couple of TV channels, have whisky on their porridge and the biggest controversy is that "one man and his dog" is no longer on TV. Once people actually get there, their perception changes, but you have to get them there first. I would like to see the club maybe think out of the box a little and look to some of the clubs in the London area for players and sort something out with our sponsors FlyBe. Could FlyBe be persuaded to offer some incentives we could add to player contracts so that they could have cheap flights back down to London every so often. Its a doddle at just over an hour from Gatwick compared to driving up the A9. It could also be extended to other areas that have direct links to Inverness airport. As far as the A9 is concerned, I was serious when I said that we will still be looked upon as being in the backwoods until such time as it is dualled north of Perth. Any time I made trips to away games south of Perth I always thought "ahh real roads" once you hit the M90 and something different on the way back when you left the "real roads".
  17. It shouldnt be an issue but unfortunately it is and YngWie is pretty spot on I think. I blame the A9 :015: :015: :015: :015: - Dual carriageway it all the way to Perth and it would remove the perception that you are now entering the backwoods :004:
  18. Bottom line - he is here for a trial, not to walk into the team. If he can convince Brewster he has got something to offer then that will be good for both. If he is "pub standard" as CCATWEAZEL suggests then he wont get a contract. end of story.
  19. Les was great - always cheery yet sarcastic at the same time. I met him long after he stopped doing the ice cream stint as he was an Innes Bar regular right up until his unfortunate death (cancer I believe) a few years ago.

  21. I fear that the Dundee bandwagon will lose its wheels in Dumfries. Palmerston is one **** of a tough place to go when you need the points !
  22. not really an album per say, but right now on my MP3 player i have been tending to listen to a collection of all the songs ever featured in the John Peel Festive 50 from 1976-2003 ... a mixed bag if ever there was one !
  23. notice County have been allowed to sign Brent Sancho http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...nty/7337032.stm
  24. will try not to get too technical but basically Website = a self contained application Forum = another self contained application login = a 'bridge' application that is supposed to talk to both applications and log you in to each regardless of whether you use the forum login or the website login. In practice, it works most of the time but not always and this can be down to several reasons most of which can be solved at the user side. 1. If having problems make sure that caleythistleonline.com is on your allowed list of sites in your browser preferences. 2. Javascript and Cookies should be enabled for the site 3. If you routinely delete cookies then you are deleting the pieces of information that tells the site you are logged in The only issue I have on the site is that sometimes, the main site makes me look like I am logged in, but I know I am not as things available to registered users only, like the poll, dont appear. The only solution then is to logout and log back in again. ok, heres a slightly more technical bit. I have a sneaking suspicion that some of these problems might be down to the fact that each separate application has a slightly different way of handling time and this confuses things between the bridge and the different cookies due to timestamps. The main site bases its time on UTC which is more flexible than GMT. For example, you are in BC and your time year round is UTC-8 (The only exception being that few weeks we just had where North American and European clocks went forward in different weeks.) The forum bases its time on GMT so although we are still 8 hours behind the UK, we need to configure the forum so it says +9 as the UK is currently on GMT+1. For those of us outside the UK, we then have to set our profiles with an offset time so it shows our local time correctly. In my case the offset is -5, I checked your account and it shows -8 and this is correct. However, as you can see, that means we have lost an hour somewhere in cyberspace !!! As we are so close to the end of the season we are NOT going to look for a solution to this as the forum and website software we will be using next season seem to work a little better where this is concerned and we also dont envisage most users requiring a login to the main site any more, just to the forums and prediction league.

    brewster

I am getting sick of this whole saga Brewster is the manager right now. Some of us like that, some of us dont but at the end of the day, he is the manager until he or someone else decides he is not and we just need to get on with it. If he stays then it would seem that he has a lot of work to do to prove himself to a sizeable proportion of fans. Over the last few weeks it has been one story after another and whether or not he is responsible in part or in full for any of the 'problems' that have been highlighted it has certainly dented many people's confidence in his ability when layer after layer of doom and gloom is heaped upon an already skeptical fanbase. The treatment of Wyness, Wilson, Black and Rankin have all left a sour taste in the mouth but as information trickles out here and there, perhaps at least some of what he did on this front had merit. I don't think we will ever know the full story in most of these cases but in every case there seems to have been two sides to each story and some of them date back to before Brewster. Going from Manager of the Month to the worst run of SPL defeats this season in the space of a matter of weeks also highlighted his tactical deficiencies. No manager sets out to lose as ultimately it will cost him his job but I dont think anyone can argue that there have been some bizarre tactics used. However, if he sends out a team that we all think is capable of winning then players also have to shoulder some blame for not performing. How many times over the last few months have fans come on here and moaned about this player or that player not being very good on any particular day .... loads !!! As for Robbo - it could be a case of frying pan/fire .... As likeable a chap as he is, and as ambitious as he has shown to be (I recall his demands to our officials via the media that he got ICT to the SPL and now it was the boards turn to make sure we got in), he is an unknown quantity at SPL level really as he didnt have enough time at ICT (his choice), had one hand tied behind his back at Hearts, and inherited the football equivalent of the Titanic at Livi. Sure he did well for us in Div1 but that doesnt necessarily mean he would be an SPL success.
