  1. some of the music is a bit 'tinny' or 'midi ringtone' like but I am sure that was because it was a quick example .... the overall tune/lyrics are pretty good and I must admit I have already changed the lyrics to something similar to that anytime I have heard that song over the last few years .... would be a good song for ICT - known, recognisable and not too difficult for people to learn the words. a winner.
  2. The difference is that we fought to get in, campaigned for rule changes that would benefit other teams in Division 1 (which we got), and then made **** sure we complied with the now relaxed new rules that we had to follow regarding stadium criteria and groundsharing. Gretna on the other hand were happy enough to follow the same route we took (groundsharing) but dont seem to have done a single thing regarding upgrading Raydale other than blustering on about the "Eco-Dome" or complaining they have to have 6000 seats for a place with less than that of a population. Whats to stop them doing a Falkirk and having "tents for stands" or from doing an ICT and having slightly more costly temporary stands ? - they will certainly have received enough money to pay for this from SPL payments I have posted before that I think the winners of Div 1 should come up no matter what, and i stand by that. My proposal has always been that the champs come up and if they dont have a compliant stadium, they get that season in the SPL (with all that extra money) to make it compliant. I would even go so far as to extend that a little from the March 31st deadline to the end of the season or start of the next if they were in the middle of the building works ... but in Gretna's case, they have done absolutely nothing to try and become compliant .....
  3. probably not - best to take them in un-inflated and blow them up once you are inside. the only other way would be to talk to St Mirren beforehand and ask if it was ok. I am guessing they might say no and give you a story about it interfering with play or causing too much mess (ie litter) to be picked up after the game.
  4. thats ok then, i take it back - thought it was someone with no connection to the site or to supporting the club coming on and posting aimlessly ...... We dont mind site users or ICT supporters plugging other stuff (within reason) but do draw the line when its spammers coming on and their only contribution is advertising their own sites or business ventures.
  5. Re: What really bugs you ?? When the weather forecaster (correctly) tells you there will be a foot of snow starting overnight and the city transportation department wont send out the ploughs until there is at least 5cm lying on the ground ..... driving sideways is never fun
  6. - what a visual
  7. guys - can you use the PM system for this. that is what it is there for !
  8. On the basis that we - sold Rankin (1st team regular) - let Caff go on loan (defensive cover) - basically told McDonald & Hart they could go - called the bluff of Tokely, Wyness and Duncan by offering what is alleged to be only average deals - mentioned in the press that the Wilson and Paatelainen contracts may or may not be renewed and then signed Imrie who may or may not prove to be a good signing. I would say we are a lot worse off. The only other good thing is that we did manage to tie up a deal for McGuire too.
  9. :clapping03:
  10. It was made clear to them (as it was to us when we got in) that they could only groundshare for one season. On that basis, unless they have a 6000 seat stadium ready by whatever date is required (still end March ?) then they have no-one to blame but themselves. if they had started building one and needed extra time from March - June or something like that to finish it then fair enough, but it has all been talk of the 'eco' stadium with little or no action.
  11. Updated names since I posted earlier list ...... Brian Allison [Falkirk - Stirling] Loan Iain Campbell [Kilmarnock - Clyde] Loan Dyron Daal [st Johnstone - Fuenlabrada] Free Jamie Harris [Dunfermline - St Patricks Athletic] Free Ben Hutchinson [Middlesbrough - Celtic] Undisclosed Dougie Imrie [Clyde - Inverness CT] Undisclosed Aaron Labonte [Dunfermline - Finn Harps] Free Alan Maybury [Leicester - Aberdeen] Loan
  12. He must have done ... he ended up at Tannadice on loan until the end of the season :029: maybe we could sign some Icelandic players who see Inverness as being closer to the central belt
  13. Caleyboy - the question was "Will we ever sign an established SPL player?" ... you can dismiss how they came to be at ICT, but the three examples were all SPL quality. 2 of the 3 were in the SPL when we signed them, and the other was approaching 200 SPL games. manager lure 28 appearances for Hibs ... 25 in SPL, 95 appearances for Dunfermline ... 77 in SPL signed when Pars were in SPL. :024: 124 appearances for Livingston ... 66 in SPL (2 in UEFA Cup) ... signed when Livi were in SPL was firmly established in pars first division reserves 180 appearances for Aberdeen ... 153 in SPL, 32 appearances for Dunfermline ... 25 in SPL. He might have been signed when the Pars were in Div 1 but you cant argue he has an experienced SPL pedigree.

  20. thats why there was a comma after Marius, Denzil and Bayne and why I said Deano and Rory were "available" ... didnt say they were the answer, just available !!! Having said that, I dont think Deano has been given the opportunity to show us what he can do in the same way that Rory has and thats a shame as he seems to be decent enough in the reserves (I know - different level etc). If we don't sign a striker, I would hope that Garry Wood might come back as a confident player in the same way as Robson did when he returned from Forfar and that would be as good as a new signing.
  21. intermittent speed issues are usually related to our hosts - either a hardware problem on their end or because one of the other sites on the server we share is busy. we can do nothing about that. the features i re-enabled are not very server intensive so dont increase the load on the server by much. right now, server load is around 3 which is fine.
  22. They cheated - they get kicked out plain and simple. I believe that one of the two ineligible players also setup the winning goal !!! What worries me is the SFA .... yesterday they had an emergency meeting, fined them 10K and ordered a replay on Saturday because they had fielded one ineligible player, but then somehow they figure out later, after the meeting had happened, and after the press release had been issued that they had actually fielded two ineligible players ..... shouldnt they have investigated this (ie looked at teamlines and confirmed with SFL) before the meeting ?
  23. Got to agree with GJ We have seen a lot of players either leave or basically be told they are leaving soon with no-one coming in to replace them and that doesnt feel right ..... We already needed a central defender but with Caff now gone, the need is greater. OK we have McGuire but cover is pretty non existent here unless one of the young lads is going to get chucked in at the deep end. We were ok in midfield before, maybe even top heavy in that area but reading the papers and setanta today, with doubts over Markus getting a new contract, Rankin gone, Hart possibly going, Wilson going at end of season, and rumblings from Russell we are starting to look deficient here too ... especially if we are going to stick with a 5 man midfield. Hopefully we do make sure Zander comes back from Elgin at end of season though !!! I think we might be ok up front, again especially if we are sticking to 4-5-1. Marius, Denzil and Bayne can cope and we also have Rory and Deano available. Hopefully the return of Garry Wood at the end of the season will be like getting a new (and confident player).
  24. Just a quick note to let users know we have re-enabled a couple of forum features today as the site seems to have settled down recently. 1. Member Map : [attach=1] The member map shows where our users say they are from ! It can be viewed at the link shown and you can set your location via your profile (forum profile information option). If you havent previously set your location, it would be good to see a few more names and places on the map ...... 2. Who's Online list : (specially for TCF). [attach=2] click on the Icon or on the list of users/guests on the main forum list page and you will be able to see where on the site our users are ... not sure why you would want to, but the feature is available again. We have however removed one component that was causing a lot of problems and that is the "from the archives" section on the main site. Working with our hosts we discovered that this component was responsible for a lot of the speed issues on the site as it randomly picked two headlines from all those we had ever published. That should have been fine, but unfortunately, the coder who wrote the component did it in such a way that it meant that every time the front page was displayed, the component did several hundred queries in the database - reading all the old stories and picking two to display - The upshot was that this component alone was accounting for more than 2.6 million database queries per day which as you can imagine slowed everything down. When we disabled it, the speed increased visibly and the strain on our server dropped by about 90% !!!
  25. Think mine shows 2 entries ... made as a test many moons ago ...... CTO2008 will have an inbuilt blogging system that will allow people to have them on the site or to link external blogs they may have running in places like blogspot etc .... the hope is that if more people do them then it will give the site a bit more of a fanzine feel and people will be able to rant about their own favourite subjects which others can choose to read or to ignore !!
