I was under the impression that he had been released at new year - the deal that brought Ridgers here on loan was reported to include the 'transfer' of Smith on a free .... but that could be the media getting it slightly wrong, especially as he is still listed on the official site as #27

believe we are also playing County on the 28th July so i would assume the pre-season is shaping up as Italy - then some ties against the likes of Peterhead, Inverurie, County etc followed by a slow start to the season as we havent played any real teams !!!!!

crowd announced as 3129 and they also said that 2960 were home fans on the radio [not sure where that info came from] ... makes the away support 169 in total - feel sorry for each and every one of them !!!!

think i will go and listen to a 'Smiths' album to cheer myself up after this game - was even tempted to hoover the basement carpet during this game as i was that bored. feel very sorry for the 100+ ICT fans who endured the journey to see it in person

Think Beckham is going to get quite a rude awakening at the level of skill at most teams when he arrives in the MLS .... its definitely not the EPL, La Liga, Serie A or even the SPL !!!

Good player, Good Guy, and unfortunately Good Bye ........ Good luck to Golly wherever he ends up (Peterhead anyone ?). A great servant to the club who deserves regular first team football somewhere but that is not going to be ICT. If he was used at all, it would only be sparingly as RH has made that position his own on merit and it doesnt sound like Golly would accept that.

yes, that irony wasnt lost on me either !!! Truth of the matter is that ICT have been 'on the brink' once and I wouldn't want to see that again. It cost a lot of money to create the club, finance the stadium, build the road etc and we got into deep doo-doo doing it. I dont fault those at the helm during that time as they were trying to meet fan expectations and club obligations with the SFL. However, when someone like David Sutherland steps up and tells you what you need to do to get your corporate finances back on track in a business that is notorious for losses rather than profits and then gives you a plan that allows you to live within your means, then unless you are rich, arrogant, or stupid you listen to what he is saying !!! Some people might not like him, his plan, or the fact that it means we cant be flamboyant with the cash but I firmly believe that the financial foundations he laid (as well as the physical ones laid by his company) mean that we will be financially stronger than a lot of other teams as the years go by. As far as I am concerned, ICT have taken things slowly - sometimes too slowly for my liking - but we do see progress year-on-year and that it is far more preferable than the alternative. I agree with those that want bigger names at the club, I think we all want that as it is a sign of progress but to suggest we break the bank to sign players from a team who are going bust because they did just that is complete folly in my opinion.

Inverness UNITED was also in existence when Caley Thistle was formed (not sure if they are still around), but the fact that the name was already registered at (then) Park Gardens was one of a few reasons why the name wasnt chosen. As opposed to 'The Rumour Mill' forum which is a place to discuss speculation about new players/signings or departures and other rumours you mean ? The fact that some people put it in the ICT section is because they dont put it in the right place !!! - if any thread offends on that basis, please let one of the mods know and we will move it if we agree that it is 'rumour'. If enough people want a separate board for transfer talk as opposed to general rumours we can easily add one. main reason for me is that the loss of County to Div2 means that we dont have a team on our doorstep who we could potentially send players to (on loan) or receive players from (Rankin, Cowie) at a level that is just below ours. A lot of us agreed that Rory might need to go on loan to get the confidence back, I would have liked to have seen him at a first division County so he could train with ICT during the week but turnout for them at a decent level. However, I am not sure he needs to drop two divisions to Div2 ... so County in Div1 might have been better.

Pretty much agree with Morgan Spice there .... this was not his best season but he was still decent enough. Lets not forget that Roscoe started it with an injury that would have kept many other players out for a long time and which ruined his pre-season so perhaps he does have a reason for the slow start, the lack of competition for his place might have been another factor that allowed performances to slide, but more recenty he seems back to his old self. Rosscoe has a few hundred appearances left in him yet .... but adding someone to the squad to give him competition for his place would be no bad thing.

Cant understand why you chose that username if you think he is so bad ? Anyhoo .... my opinion is the exact opposite. Rosscoe is one of the best players we have ever had at the club. He may not be the best in terms of skill but he is solid in his position, consistent and defines the spirit that is seen within the side. He has been written off time and time again as someone who would not be able to make the adjustment when we went from the 3rd to the 2nd, from the 2nd to the 1st and again when we went from the 1st to the SPL .... every time he has proved his critics wrong and it was only as recently as the 04/05 season (our first in the SPL) that he won every single player of the year award he was eligible for - a total of 6 of them, some awarded by fans, others awarded by his fellow players ...... not bad for someone who is "minging".

This is the first ever Toronto home game so not yet ..... I have crossed swords with him a few times on there so hope I never meet him. Having said that, I dont think he goes to any games, just watches on TV.
