  1. Thought I would start a 'sticky' thread for YouTube videos* ... in this thread, add NON-ICT ones. *copyright disclaimer: As far as we are aware, it is allowable to add youtube links to footage of past games or compilation clips. we are not hosting the videos on this site, only adding links to content that is freely available on youtube if a user were to go there and search. Please direct any copyright disputes to youtube. Here's my opening contribution .... a classic set of bloopers .... my favourite is the guy who gets the ball in the face about 52 seconds in .... talk about wobbly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xo_s4w8Ifo
  2. :32: to those who are taking this off topic ..... This thread is about the signing of Dean McDonald for ICT. If you want to abuse or bait Sophia, please do it elsewhere. Sophia - If all you wanted to say was "All I was really saying was welcome to Inverness and don't take the any criticism that may come your way personally." then why not just say that !!! 99% of people would actually have agreed with you
  3. If the figure of 4K is correct (and it sounds feasible) then I think that is too much for this player especially if you delve deeper into his stats ..... His stats at Bucharest and Sporting are excellent but Standard Liege and Mainz look pretty grim for some reason. If he were to sign for ICT then its no secret that his aim would be to try and stop the downward spiral, get his scoring rate back up, get back into the national side and ultimately hope for a move to the OF or England and on that basis perhaps 2K per week (1 from ICT (within the wage structure), 1 from a sponsor) would be a fair offer ...... Dinamo Bucharest (1996-2001) Romanian Division A: Domestic: 100 games - 43 goals UEFA Cup: 7 games - 5 goals International: 18 games - 10 goals (inc 5 goals in 6 games in 2000 - 1 V Latvia, 4 V Algeria, 3 V Hungary, 2 V Slovenia) Sporting Lisbon (2001-2005) Portuguese SuperLiga: Domestic: 59 games - 14 goals (7 in 1st season, 3, 3, and 1 in following seasons) UEFA Cup: 6 games - 3 goals (all in 1st season) International: 8 games - 2 goals (against Andorra) Standard Liege (2005-2006) Belgian Jupiler League: Domestic: 26 games - 4 goals UEFA Cup: none International: 2 games - 0 goals Mainz (2006-2007) German Bundesliga: Domestic: 6 games - 0 goals UEFA Cup: none International: none
  4. why do i get the feeling that Gringo is gonna love this thread ......
  5. STV - we will be launching the 2007/08 version of this site soon (same site - with a number of upgrades) and would be delighted to discuss how we might work with you to give fans access to more ICT content. This is perhaps best done via email rather than in here so feel free to drop myself and my co-publisher an email at [email protected]
  6. So is that you volunteering for Match Report duty for all but the Clach game RIG ??? seriously though - As club Historian Ian Broadfoot has now retired from doing the official match reports, we will need to rely on fans to supply reports for all games as we will not be able to simply 'lift' reports from the official site so volunteers are encouraged to come forward. We have one or two people who have said they are interested in doing some of the games but as far as we are concerned, the more the merrier, and if there are any budding journos out there all the better !!!
  7. no problems .... 1. It will benefit the fans (who win). 2. The profits are going to a good cause. Will adjust thread title slightly to make it more appealing and also sticky it
  8. Milk is sold that way over here !!! and the cigarette packs (25s) are also like that (mostly)

    ICT going Green

fortunately (for ICT), due to the effect of the glaciers, the north of Scotland is actually rising and the south of england is sinking into the sea - post glacial rebound for those who want to look it up. not sure if it is rising at the same rate that sea levels are but personally, I would be more concerned about the rise in levels if I lived further south !!!
  10. Fair play to Richard .... He basically got called up for the squad when no-one expected it and when fans were a little more than scornful of his worth .... a bit like when he returned to ICT !!! He played every game in a position he isnt used to and by the end of Canada's involvement in the tournament had those same fan singing his praises .... again, like his return to ICT As many know, I have not always been his biggest fan, or even a fan at all, but this past 12 months he has performed very well for both his club and his country so well done to him.
  11. probably a pretty good chance ... I am sure some of the pubs down there have legitimate (or otherwise) Setanta channels !!!
  12. I havent seen any 'distrust' of him on here ? Most fans seem to relish his signing. If anything what we might be guilty of is expecting too much from him too soon and I would agree that this could have negative connotations with some supporters if things dont go well for him from the very start (ie. he doesnt score goals !) if that is what you meant. The player himself seems pretty switched on and realised this before he even signed. He said that the first thing he did when he heard of the club's interest in him was to have a look on the internet and I reckon he has probably visited here and read a few of the comments which prompted him to make the comments in the press that he is a different type of player than Dargo and not necessarily an out and out goalscorer/poacher. However, he seems confident enough in his ability to tell us what he is good at and if he can score some decent goals and show the kind of in-the-box skills we have all now seen on YouTube then he will have some very vociferous supporters to speak up for him when any doubters do start their nonsense. As for leaving the club - lets worry about that later ... he hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet !!! He has signed for two years with an option for a third (not something I have ever heard of in an ICT contract before incidentally). If he does well for us then it might be inevitable that he either goes back to a bigger team in England or to one of our higher paying rivals in the SPL. I dont think ICT fans in general have a problem with that scenario so long as the player himself is honest with the fans. Dods got some stick last season when the DUFC interest was noted but a lot more people gave him credit for finishing the season and giving 100% even though he was moving to another club. Many of these same people were angry at Dargo because they felt he was stringing the club along .... Its not the fact of the player leaving, its how they do it that generates the reaction. Dennis Wyness going to Hearts is another prime example of how to do it right. Again, I credit Dean with being pretty savvy when it comes to this and if the time comes, perhaps he will check the internet again, gauge the fan mood and make the appropriate (honest) comments. Sophia .... it appears to me that in this case, it is the fans who are being distrusted from the off and I seriously doubt whether we will be given the benefit of the doubt at any point.
  13. Thanks for clarifying this Angela
  14. Guess it depends on whether the shop software can do it or not and whether the club eventually signed up for automated charging as opposed to the manual method it began with (I dont go further than looking any more as the postage prices are extortionate). When we had the shop running on here, and previously on SportNetwork we just added the new stock and put it into the description that it was a pre-order item and that the card wouldnt be charged until the order was processed after the stock arrived. Andrina is pretty organised and this worked without a hitch.
  15. Is it ? Does it still run ? Guess you will have to take your chances then .....
  16. While I tend to agree with that statement, especially as one of the people who has previously talked at length about keeping our wage structure in place and intact, I was somewhat heartened that the deal may still come to fruition after reading comments from Grassa in the Courier ..... http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/fu...s_ICT_deal.html This suggests that the club may be looking to keep the player within the wage structure and hoping that one of the main sponsors steps up to the plate to top-up the offer. This might be do-able. Even if we dont get this particular player, it certainly suggests that the football management side of the club from Chairman to DoF and Manager are actually doing what many of us have asked which is to look further than just the Highlands for talent that will improve the team. I am also optimistic that the Romanian connection will be a **** site better than anything we (never) got from the Sheffield connection !!!
  17. Mr Smeaton has made it onto several news broadcasts over here and the subject has been discussed on many a radio talk show - especially the one I listen to as I drive home. all showing him and Scotland's reaction in a very positive light. I hope he takes up the offer of all these pints and also the undoubted media interview and appearance offers he will get over the next few weeks ... enjoy it while it lasts John, your star will fade as quickly as it rose My favourite video shown on TV over here - considering that most were shown once and never repeated or re-filmed so they could get him to speak more slowly and with sanitised or less colloquial language is the one I saw on CNN ... The interviewer asked him how he came to be outside the airport at just the right time and he started by saying ..... "I was outside having a fag .....". I had visions of the gay movement hogging the internet and booking flights to Glasgow in their thousands .... some slang terms just dont mean the same over here :015: :015: :015:
  18. maybe a taxi perhaps ? - split a few ways its not much more than bus fare !
  19. oompa - loompa -doopedeedoo .... OMG MCDonalds scored two ..... oompa - loompa -doopedeedee .... and another, now its three ......
  20. See Fixture Page : http://www.caleythistleonline.com/index.ph...&Itemid=279 note: Celtic-Killie is the Sunday game and the Edinburgh derby is on the Monday.
  21. At 21 I wouldnt expect him to be the finished article, but from what we have all seen on YouTube, he knows his way around the penalty box. A few goals, good effort and teamwork and the boy will be just fine. He wont be the messiah but if he can start banging a few in he will be a firm fan favourite.
  22. feckin big hands :015: :015: :015: distant relative......
  23. so my previous post was pretty much spot on then ?
  24. We can pull it off if the player is prepared to take something at the top end of ICT wages until such time as he catches the eye of one of the OF or a team in the Premiership or championship .... reading various articles, that is pretty much what Grassa, the Chairman and the player are saying .... Grassa initially cautions - his financial demands may be too difficult to make The player says - its a big deal and if i can score a lot of goals i may get a big move Grassa then says - even if we could get him for a year that would be terrific sounds like discussions went well and the player is considering the "short term pain for long term gain" aspect of signing for ICT - get his foot in the door of the SPL, score a lot of goals and move for a big payday .... if he does that, then on this occasions we can have no complaints as we will know from the start that this is the ultimate aim. ..... even if we dont get him, :clapping03: to the Chairman, DoF, and Manager for even trying to do the deal.
