  1. Very sad to hear this. I talked to Jim on a few occasions through the website. Sincere condolences to his family and any others who were close to him. I am going to move this to the main football forum even although it is off topic for that area. More people view that forum and this topic deserves not to be missed by those who visit.
  2. Leslie Ash :015: :015: :015: :015:
  3. At the end of the day we finally got about 200k for CB - paid in installments (is it all in the accounts ?). So if you remove those payments and the two SKY ties we are still falling a little short. I havent received my shareholder copy yet but do we still have any Pittodrie payments or such like in there ? bottom line, it sounds like we are walking the fine line between profit/loss but that is far far better, I suspect, than many of the other teams. The interesting numbers to see will be the wages/turnover ratio as that is usually a good indicator of the health of the operation.
  4. You know ... A few weeks ago, I didnt really care who got relegated this year (except us of course) ... I was thinking maybe St Mirren because of their fans treatment of Tokely and superior attitude especially on places like P&B, then I wondered maybe Dunfermline or Falkirk because they seem to have the worst teams on paper .... but I now want the Tannadump To55ers to go down so much I can taste it ... I would also like to see Brewster be another casualty of the Grocer before Xmas and for ET to get his comeuppance for his **** Dastardly behaviour time after time after time ..... I am beginning to think I hate this side more than i loathe Livi and far more than the minor irritation that Ross COunty provide.
  5. From Dundee Courier ..... United still keen on Inverness CT trio By Ian Roache DUNDEE UNITED have not given up on their Inverness Caley Thistle targets despite having offers for all three—which added up to a six-figure sum—formally rejected by the Highlanders. ICT head coach Charlie Christie claimed United’s quest to sign Ian Black, Darren Dods and David Proctor was “dead and buried” but it is understood that opinion is not shared at Tannadice. ...... It has been rumoured that at least one Caley player is poised to formally ask away from Inverness but Christie insists he has had no such request from either Dods, Black or Proctor. And Christie warns that United and player-boss Craig Brewster would have to reach agreement with the Caley board and director of football Graeme Bennett on a fee. “The players have never said to me they wanted to move,” he claimed. 6. Was there just before Xmas on my last trip home - we got 3 fish suppers (one each for me, the missus and Big Stu). No one had any complaints. I went to get them and they were cooked while I waited and the portions were pretty good. Obviously there was a bit of oil on the food as it had been freshly cooked and hadnt been sitting in the counter cabinet draining for hours but I didnt think it was swimming in grease or anything. Maybe I got it on a good day or maybe you got it on a bad day .... but I know that other places I have gone have been far worse - especially the over-priced establishment that has won awards for quality - you know the one I mean :004: ... I have eaten there a few times and NEVER had a decent meal.
  7. 10 phonecalls in the space of 6 hours according to the news over here
  8. As an extra part of your mission Gringo - the missus is very partial to the Naan breads that the cottage serve ... whilst I favour the Keema, she is very fond of the Peshwari - your recommended eaterie should do a decent naan
  9. Funnily enough, I suspect that Rankin may actually be number 24 !!! unconfirmed squad numbers as follows. I would wait until after the first game if I were you, just to be sure !! 1. Mark Brown 2. Ross Tokely 3. Stuart Golabek 4. Darren Dods 5. Stuart McCaffrey 6. Roy McBain 7. Barry Wilson 8. Ian Black 9. Graham Bayne 10. Richie Hart 11. Alan Morgan 12. Russell Duncan 14. Grant Munro 15. Liam Keogh 16. Richard Hastings 17. Craig Dargo 18. David Proctor 19. Dennis Wyness 20. Tom Parratt 21. Michael Fraser 22. 23. Liam Fox 24. John Rankin 25. 26. 27. 28. Rory McAllister ???. Stuart Soane ???. Alexander Sutherland ???. Jonathon Smith ???. Guy Kerr
  10. Think they will have added spice even if they dont - many of our fans and certainly our directors seem to have absolutely no time whatsoever for the rulers of the Banana Republic of Tannadump
  11. We have been lucky at Boardroom level from the very start in 1994 and I am sure that our outgoing chairman would not let his hard work be undone by resigning if he thought the suggested replacement was not up to the task. I know nothing of Alan Savage but a little research on his company suggests he is a very astute businessman and hopefully he will bring that astuteness to the ICT boardroom. ... would you rather have Eddie Thomson ??
  12. If the players want to leave then fair enough, let them talk to the temporary manager at Tannadump and see what he offers, but only after DUFC have privately tabled bids that ICT have accepted. We have said it time and time again. NO-ONE is bigger than this club and all this bull5hit is doing no-one any good. PROCTOR: It wouldnt surprise me if he wanted to go as he knows he is not a first team regular and is mainly there as cover for Tokely and potentially for Wilson. He has played well when selected and would eventually hold down a starting spot but I would understand it if he had a desire to move for first team football. With Caff and Parratt we have cover for defensive positions. BLACK: Cant understand this one. We all know he wont spend his career at ICT and he will eventually move to a bigger club. Charlie has even said as much. Cant help feeling that if he decides to go to DUFC he is selling himself short in the interests of getting a higher wage earlier in his career when he could legitimately spend another season or two with us and move to a far bigger club than United (and make even more money). However, we have Rankin, Keogh, Duncan, Hart and Fox who will all be happy to take his midfield spot. If he wants to go, then show him the door. DODS: Again, if he wants to go, this would be harder to understand than Proctor. He had a reputation for defensive blunders at his other clubs until he came to ICT where he has fitted into our system magnificently. Deservedly won many awards and became a fans favourite. It has been said that he is good pals with Brewster and that he has family ties further south that might drive his desire but I would be sad to see him go. However, given a little time to settle back into the first team, I think that Caff is probably a more 'classy' defender who could easily replace him.
  13. I have to agree with both points !!
  14. We have played the buddies a total of 21 times - 1 friendly (our first ever official game as Caledonian Thistle in 1994), 16 times in the first division, twice in the CIS Cup, and once in both the Scottish Cup and 'Bells (Challenge) Cup' Hislopsoffsideagain has it spot-on with dates/scores and as jj_ict mentioned, the missing game is the 1-0 win at Love St which was on 7th Feb 2004.
  15. Translation: It was written in English - we do not understand it :004: Translation: We wanted them when we got Brewster but as we had to pay that transfer fee in installments do you really think we could afford to pay a reasonable fee for them !! We had to save up but we still dont have enough in the piggy bank. A social chat over a few beers after Rosscoe's testimonial perhaps ? methinks this is spin-spin-spin Funny that Motherwell complained about the way DUFC conducted their business through the media just this week and that both Falkirk and ICT had cause to complain about the same thing when McCall and Paterson were both touted IN THE PAPERS for the hotseat at Tannadump. We know we annoyed Big Bad David but can we still be friends :019:
  16. Gringo - just told the missus and she is indeed distraught ..... your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find a worthy replacement before we arrive :015: :015: :015:
  17. Hey Brosno ... welcome back. I can setup a separate forum if you need it, or we can slip it into one of the anything goes forums - just let me know what you want to do.
  18. We usually go to the one on Glenurquhart Road - havent had a bad portion or bad food yet. and although you have to wait a little longer than most places thats because its cooked while you wait ..... think Kirsties in Kinmylies was slightly better but its certainly ahead of most other ones ... especially the 'award winning' national chain on the other side of town
  19. Welcome back Bronson - moving post to an appropriate board :016:
  20. The missus is going to be devestated :007: - she had only two meal requests for our forthcoming trip - decent fish-n-chips and a meal at the cottage where she just loves the food :019:
