3. without revealing any info that might contravene the data protection act (we are still governed by that whether we are an independent forum or not !!) - I think I can say that it is my opinion that Benchy and Cyril are not the same person .... :010:
4. Yeah it cost me a fair chunk of change to fix that .... barsteward whoever it was ..... Jnr - after winning my first 5 games in a row I was feeling quite happy .... but then I had a 1-1 draw and worse still, in the next game, suffered my only defeat (so far) at the hands of CaleyD .... so you got the backlash after I kicked my team's collective erse and stuck a player on the transfer list ........
5. fair play to the RC supporters for trying to turn the 'fortunes' of the club around - I would far rather see them in the SPL than Ferranti-Meadowbank-Livingston Thistle
6. good game - would be nice if we could play more than 2 games per week but thats not possible - for those playing it - make note - you might want to give a game to some of your reserves for the last couple of games .... any player who has played less than 3 matches will have a lower skill rating next season ....
7. a small design tip ....... a 2.4Mb file, 2600 pixels wide is not a good idea on the front page of the site !!!
8. went from Livi to Falkirk on loan if i remember correctly then went back to Canada to play with Vancouver Whitecaps ... released last season. not playing now AFAIK.

13. I have 2 guesses :015: Guess 1 = Jimmy Calder - I seem to remember him playing in goal for the opposition in a friendly or testimonial. Guess 2 = Kevin Byers - for some reason, I seem to think he may have played against us in a friendly when the opposition didnt have enough players ......
14. over here its a cookie :015:

18. Technically, I guess he played for CALEDONIAN THISTLE not INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE ... but thats just semantics as far as I am concerned. SATURDAY 1st APRIL 1995, FIRS PARK, FALKIRK - BELLS SCOTTISH LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION EAST STIRLING 1 (Geraghty 2) CALEDONIAN THISTLE 0 EAST STIRLING - McDougall, Watt, R. Lee, Stirling, Sneddon, Ross, I. Lee, Hunter (Millar 84), Geraghty, Cuthbert (Abercromby 68), Dwyer Sub - Moffat CALEDONIAN THISTLE - McRitchie, Brennan, McAllister, Scott, Noble, Hastings, Mitchell, Lisle, Urquhart (Robertson 68), Christie (Hercher 61), MacMillan Sub - Calder REFEREE - Mr A Freeland (Aberdeen) ATTENDANCE - 394 REPORT - This game started badly for Caley Thistle when they lost a goal in 2 minutes. The goal came as a result of a poor defensive clearance from a Robert Lee shot - it fell to Geraghty who blasted the ball high into the net. Veteran striker Billy Urquhart nearly equalised 6 minutes later but his shot was brilliantly saved by McDougall. At the other end Lee Cuthbert came close for East Stirling. The visitors efforts at snatching an equaliser resulted in a Christie header being cleared off the line and a Mitchell shot hitting the post. In the second half Mitchell again came close but McDougall saved well. The home side created a number of chances but their finishing was poor.

TUESDAY 11th APRIL 1995, TELFORD STREET PARK, INVERNESS - BELLS SCOTTISH LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION CALEDONIAN THISTLE 0 ALBION ROVERS 2 (Thomson 26, Scott 84) CALEDONIAN THISTLE - McRitchie, S. MacDonald, McAllister, Hercher, Noble (Sweeney 8), Sanderson (McCraw 61), Mitchell, Scott, Urquhart, Christie, MacMillan Sub - Calder ALBION ROVERS - Wight, Dolan, Gallagher, Wilcox, Ryan, Deeley, Thomson, J. McBride, Scott, Young (Quinn), Beattie Sub - M. McBride REFEREE - Mr G Mitchell (Arbroath) ATTENDANCE - 491 REPORT - This re-arranged match took place on a cold Tuesday night and Albion recorded only their fifth win of the season. The opening goal came in 26 minutes when Martin Scott ran from midfield before passing to Thomson who scored from the edge of the box. At the other end a Colin Mitchell shot was cleared off the line by Ryan and Wight denied the home side when he saved at the feet of Charlie Christie. In the second half Caley Thistle were denied what many thought was a clear cut penalty when Colin Mitchell was sandwiched in the area. Albion pressed forward and a superb Joe McBride 30 yard drive crashed off the post. The second goal for Albion came 6 minutes from time when Scott scored after a good solo effort. SATURDAY 13th MAY 1995, TELFORD STREET PARK, INVERNESS - BELLS SCOTTISH LEAGUE THIRD DIVISION CALEDONIAN THISTLE 1 (Hercher 72) QUEEN'S PARK 1 (McCormack 19) CALEDONIAN THISTLE - McRitchie, Brennan, McAllister, Hercher, C.Sinclair, Bennett, Mitchell, Lisle (Christie 55), McCraw (Urquhart 70), Holmes, Robertson Sub - Calder QUEEN'S PARK - Chalmers, Wilson, Graham, J. Orr, Matchett (Smith 70), Ferguson, Callan, Caven, McCormack, G. Orr (McPhee 57), McGoldrick Sub - Edgar REFEREE - Mr M. F. Pocock (Aberdeen) ATTENDANCE - 640 MAN OF THE MATCH - Mark Holmes (Caledonian Thistle) REPORT - Sergei Baltacha's last game as Caley Thistle manager was a disappointment. In 15 minutes Queens nearly scored but Ross Caven's angled drive was tipped away by McRitchie. Three minutes later McAllister came close at the other end but a minute after that Queens took the lead. Gary Orr's pass into the box was collected by Steve McCormack who scored from 15 yards. There were few real chances in the game but in 79 minutes the home side equalised. Alan Hercher scored with a header after a Bennett cross was flicked on by Billy Urquhart. Caven nearly scored for Queens a few minutes later but his 15 yard effort went wide. Queens were then awarded a free kick on the edge of the box after McRitchie was penalised for breaching the four steps rule. The 'keeper turned the free kick away for a corner but was booked for his continued protests.
19. yup - I knew there would be questions about that (which is why i included appearance totals in brackets), but Ian Broadfoot's stats show that he started 2 matches and came on as a sub in a third ..... mind you thats 3 more matches than Billy remembered when it was mentioned on Sportsound during the season .....
20. you didnt say only current players so here's a couple to add to the list ..... Billy Urquhart (3 ICT appearances) scored in Europe for Rangers did he not ? Duncan Shearer (63 ICT appearances) probably scored in Europe for the Dons ?
21. While I agree that no one player is mightier than the ship, if we were to lose 4 (or more) in one go it would be difficult for Charlie to fill all those holes easily. I trust Grassa and Charlie to come up with the goods and hope they can persuade those contemplating a move to stay with us and if they cant keep them, to get good replacements. I also trust our chairman to be a hard man to bargain with if the grocer or any other chairman comes looking to unsettle our players or pick them up for bargain basement prices. For what its worth .... here's my tuppenceworth Dargo - 20 goal strikers are not easy to find. We do NOT have anyone in our squad that would fill this position alongside Denzil. Charlie would have to find a player to do this and thats not easy to do. Dargo wasnt exactly prolific before he came to us, and even when he first arrived it took a long time to get off the mark but look at him now ... very difficult to find a player you think can do it and then be proved right .... Black - The return of Liam Keogh towards the end of last season eased the pain of Black's absence through injury and the same would be the case if he were to go, but I would quite like to see them play together in our midfield ... a pair of terriers. Dods - Again, hard to replace as he is 'the machine', but Caff would ease the pain as he is capable of slotting into that spot. We also have Golly, Hastings, Proctor*, Tokely and Munro in our defensive unit so painful though it might be, we could get over this loss. Proctor - He is Rossco's understudy and as we have seen Caff can also play at RB. I think he will continue to develop and although I would like him to stay, he would be the easiest to replace. Brown - Michael Fraser has shown himself to be an able deputy, but is he capable of being first team keeper week in and week out ? I dont know, I have never seen him play.
22. If indeed they both leave their respective clubs it is a shame. Both Butcher and Mowbray have been a breath of fresh air because of their ability to talk out of their mouths instead of their erses like some of the other managers around .... I have respect for them both. OK, now the niceties are over .... It's time for IHE to trot out the contenders .... Hendry, Gough, Lambert, O'Neil, Burley ..
23. Sounds like they are using a similar plan to that which David Sutherland brought to ICT when we were several millions in the red ..... if the new board can do as good a job as our chairman did in steadying the ship and trying to make sure the books start to balance then it could be onwards and upwards again for DFC ..... good luck.
24. Ok - the test worked :) I will try to 'adjust' it slightly so that we can fit it into next season's features. Dont worry if it disappears from the menu during the close season, it will definitely be back !!
