1. The best meals ever invented were [li]cooked breakfast the morning after the night before - has to be the full works though - sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding etc - the greasier the better. If you were still shaky it might not stay down, but if you were just hungover then it was great[/li] [li]Home made Scotch Broth with chunks of tatties in it - tasted best on 1st January after stumbling home from first footing all night[/li]
2. A whirlwind european tour for us this summer ....... Copenhagen (3 days) Stockholm (3 days) Inverness & Skye for a wedding (6 days) London (2 days)
3. not sure of the year, but remember my Grandad and my mum telling me that our side of the street in Hawthorn Drive was 'newer' than the other as they built one side first and then the other a year or two later .....
4. so long as you enter it into the predictor at least 1 minute before kick-off that will be no problem :004: - The predictor doesnt do 0-0 if you forget to predict :011:
5. Its automated and the predictions close 1 minute before kick-off - we cant add/edit entries after the time - sorry

(and before anyone wants to split hairs - I know it is not possible to get 12 points from all teams because of the split but right now we have the potential of 4 games against ALL teams !!!) Celtic, Rangers and Hearts (depending on actions of Romanov) will continue to dominate the SPL in the coming season. Hibs and Aberdeen should also be up there but each has their own problems both with losing players and in Aberdeen's case with mounting debts. I would then say there is a group that contains Kilmarnock, Motherwell, ICT and 'possibly' Dundee Utd who will fight it out for 6th spot and mid table respectability. If we play to our strengths and the players perform as well as they have done in the last two seasons there is no reason why we cant finish top 6 and even overtake Hibs and aberdeen if they have problems. I predict (and hope) the relegation battle will not include us but instead will be between the Pars, Falkirk and St Mirren and maybe even DUFC depending on what Brew gets sorted in the rest of the close season. St Mirren are the unknowns - I havent paid much attention to Div1 since we got out of it, but they seemed worthy winners and may do what both ICT and Falkirk have done in the last two seasons and stay up at the expense of an established SPL side .......
8. Credit where its due - that article is pretty **** good !!! If I read it first, before looking at the author's name, I might have guessed at it being written by Bill Leckie as he has consistently been one of the few to give us credit over the years ... but fair play to Rob MacLean for soaring in my estimations with this piece. If the contents of the article are true then it is also good to see that Charlie is handling the team spirit situation very well. Wage rises - sure, why not if we can afford it - but wage rises for all, not just the so-called 'stars'. Hopefully any players linked with moves elsewhere will put stability and job satisfaction ahead of the mighty greenback, especially if we are beginning to close the gap between us and the other SPL teams in terms of wages.
9. I have split this topic so that the actual party doesnt get lost in all the other discussions on this thread. The other postings have not been deleted but are now in a thread called "End of Season Party - Split Posts"
10. 2nd Pic ..... I know my dad works on the railways but I do not look like Thomas the Tank engine ... honest !!!! http://www.clannhoran.com/images/john-images/John-Thomas-1.jpg
11. Talking of curly haired Argentinians .... anyone got a clip of both goals he scored against England ? .... The missus doesnt believe me about the 'hand of god' goal and is even more sceptical when I tell her he made up for it with one of the best ever solo goals of all time.
12. Question: Are you Supporting England? Answer: No - T&T (because 6 of the squad play in Scotland) & Brazil (because my company has offices there and I know a few of the guys from that office)
13. Yeah - sure he wont be getting any Christmas cards from Crouch !!! Also thought the ref in the Sweden / T&T game wasnt very good. They have obviously been told to crack down on a long list of minor infractions but it appears that play-acting and diving are not on the list.
14. OK - The 'points based on number of predictions' is NOT going to work - it is counting ALL registered members whether playing or not ...... because of this I have disabled that option and reconfigured the scoring Apologies for this, but we could only do limited testing and were kinda in the dark until the games actually started..... Here is how it scores now Correct HT (H) = 5 points Correct HT (A) = 5 points Correct FT (H) = 5 points Correct FT (A) = 5 points Correct overall Goal Difference = 5 points Correct W/L/D prediction = 10 points Correct Score = 25 points
15. yeah - there is a 'bonus' scheme for getting the overall score correct .... was not sure how it would work out as the documentation wasnt the best for this program but basically, its based on the number of predictions ... the more people who predict correctly, the lower the bonus
16. Scotty

ehhhh

I knew I forgot to disable something !!! The GLOW feature and the MARQUEE feature !!!! ..... ok, I know, I'll go back to the old fart's forum :D
17. Think I already answered that above !! I had to enter a result to test it and after spending several hours hacking bits of code I was NOT going to uninstall and re-install it. The scores were RE-CALCULATED after today's game and if you view the leaderboard, then click on the part where it shows I have 4 points you will be able to see WHERE I got my 4 points. Its all very transparent and there is no way for me to cheat if that is what is being implied >:(
18. Gonna be in Pisa around 3rd-10th July ~ C100 ? Rumour has it you just might bump into a few ICT players at that time ;)
19. The chance to beat all your worthy adversaries on the site ;D
20. Where do I start !!!! Lets just say that a LOT of drivers over here are 'not very good' ..... I would hate to see how much worse they would be if most of them also had a clutch pedal !!!! Main reason for this I would say (other than those who are truly bad drivers) is that 99% of the feckers who are driving badly have a mobile phone glued to their ear and are not paying attention (havent made it illegal here yet) have a look at these links and click on some of the cameras anytime around 1pm, or from 9pm - midnight (roughly) to see how bad it is http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller...era/camhome.htm http://www.zordoc.com/webcam/
21. :015: - many on the old site thought i WAS Big Brother :011:

Black & Proctor

As IHE has already said - this deal does not appear to be dead yet !!! I have heard from a usually reliable source that at least one of the two will be a United player come the start of the season ..... whether it is 'stuff and nonsense' who knows, but the source is normally fairly good .... the news makes me glad that Keogh has recovered :004:
23. If we thought it was anything other than a quote from the person themself we would have done more than just amended the post.
