  1. ----------Esson---------- Tokely Pressley Munro Hastings Daquin Kerr Vigurs Hamill Burchill (or Milne) Rooney------ Subs: Dargo, Imrie, Duncan, McBain (to cover ML/FBL), Proctor (DM/FBR not CD), Duff (CD not FBR), somekeeper
  2. Where do you think Cowie played? Black has more talent than Duncan but do you think he played better than him today? McBain tired as well (I can't really understand that when they supposedly do so much work on fitness) and still falls over the ball too often but him and Vigurs (our wide players today weirdly) were our most dangerous. I'd be interested to know which midfielder you would have taken off?
  3. I can't see we could have played any better. At the risk of getting boring, a central defender and a quality striker would have made all the difference. As for taking Black off, we had three central midfielders, Duncan, Black and Cowie. We had to get a more attacking line-up, so one had to go. Although Duncan was far from excellent, at least he was involved (seemed to tire a lot which surprised me). Cowie did more than Black, so he had to go. Thought the line-up, tactics and passion were good most of the match but we just lack quality.
  4. Bad result but not a shambles. Just didn't have the quality on the day. Desperately need an organising central defender (Pressley) and a proven striker (Burchill or Milne - even though the latter isn't proven in the SPL)
  5. 0-3 Lack of organisation at the back again. Need a Pressley. Score severely flatters Rangers. I guess though that's why they are paid so much more.
  6. Black's soaking up the midfield. If we're chasing then we need to drop one of the middle three and Black's been weakest here. Think we've played pretty well here. Glad to see Rooney coming on. I'm going to exempt Brew from criticism this week (well, for this game). Doubt the team can play any better.
  7. We've done pretty well. Probably the best team. Certainly the best chances. Duncan and McBain still struggle with the ball at their feet but Vigurs probably man of the match so far. Hastings doing well supporting him.
  8. Brew trying to trick Rangers by playing Vigurs on the left and McBain on the right. Clever, clever man. They'll not be expecting that! (for a very good reason)
  9. > Novo wide left against Tokely No chance of a booking there then!
  10. Nah, I'm sure he does care. It's his career. I'd care about my patient if I was performing brain surgery - but I wouldn't have the skills to do anything about it.
  11. Don't think we're even playing for a win.
  12. Going for experience then. Soak up the midfield as that's where Rangers are really dangerous - Miller being really an attacking midfielder but a poor apology for an attacker (cue: hat-trick!). I don't expect us to win but it's about the best team we can field for a draw. It's backs to the walls time. Looking forward to this on ART. (should also be free on Libya tv too if you can get it).
  13. As Malky says, 'What crisis?' Oh, yeah, that crisis.

I think in the summer, he was actually looking for a move away from Scotland.
  15. Why do you say he did badly at Hearts? Coz he was sacked (well, he was asked to stay on in a reduced capacity) by mad Vlad? Can you read too much in to that? Seems to me that in the clubs he's had, Hearts, Livi and Ross County, that he's not really had a chance to make a difference. Mad owners, the lot of them!

"But the decision will not be a financial one ..." Yes! "...but based on what I think is right for...my education as a footballer." B*gger!

I can imagine Brew may well have been behind this. He knows how poor defensively we've been. If Pressley does well as player/defensive coach then it's good for Brew too. Steven is not a yes man but he's not a natural rebel either. In fact, quite the opposite. Being successful does mean Brew sticking around. Much as I didn't like the way he came back to the club, I won't cut off my nose to spite my face. If he - and he hasn't so far - learns from his mistakes, all well and good. Proof is in the pudding, so I won't hold my breath (and any other cliches you can think of!)
  18. Now at 70% go. I take it Ross County voted for the other 30%!
  19. If he didn't have that relationship, we'd hear nothing. Bannerman has been fairly neutral in my opinion. Just putting out interviews on what's being said from an otherwise silent board.
  20. Brian Kerr did well at Motherwell, so would be a good experienced addition. I know the Hibees hated him but I'd say it was really down to him being played out of position.
  21. Definitely. Scored with Dunfermline easily enough and is doing the business with Rotherham. Obviously there's fitness to consider but a push-out-the-boat time for me. Every chance he wants the Central Belt mind if Rotherham's too far for him.
  22. Just what I suspected. No doubt he will also deserve the chance to take us up next year. Brew's here for the long-term I'd imagine - and it's just not right.
  23. Dumfries? Weirdly similar to Inverness in many ways. I've always liked the too. Barry will be missed - no question! Good luck!
  24. It all depends on the transfer window. Imagine an injury to Munro and Black/Cowie gone, we then potentially have a team of: Esson, Tokely Proctor McGuire Hastings, Imrie Vigurs Duncan McBain, Rooney Wood ()with no suspensions or injuries) If we crashed like Gretna, who would be first-choice for another SPL club? I'd say: SPL: Esson, Imrie SPL/Div 1 cusp (if you know what I mean): Tokely, Hastings, Duncan, Rooney Div 1: McGuire, Proctor (at least as centre back), McBain The rest are up-n-coming squad players rather than regulars. It's going to be tough. Only Hamilton have a weaker squad.
