Well put. I can completely understand Brew getting some flack because of our league position but it seems as though everyone has now said all they can and have moved onto the board as their next target. Our board has been one of the most successful in the history of Scottish football and as Spectre mentioned we have been tipped for the drop almost every season since we made it into the SPL but against all odds we continue to compete in the league. It's only now that all this good work is forgotten and they are receiving dogs abuse Stop starting them then!

Morais certainly played in that game - and got a few mentions in our match report: http://stats.caleythistleonline.com/matchdetails.php?id=171 Did I mention diving ? sorry cant see where I have said that ? Sorry my bad hislopsoffsideagain has the same avator
-
I know sheilds scored a hattrick against us last season in the cup but I'm sure Morais was one of the players that ripped us apart that game. It wouldn't have been difficult though from what I remember we were playing a ridiculously high defensive line against one of the quickest attacks in the SPL Scotty were you complaining about Juanjo diving when he kept us in the SPL our first season?? It's one of those things I'll complain about until I'm blue in the face when it's against your team but when he is winning your team free kicks and penalties ...... different story
-
For our next home top That is an older strip because I can't find any pics of the current one but I've always thought it would look excellent with the ICT badge on it
-
Echoes RIG's quotes almost word for word Morais could be a good signing for us, skillful/tricky player, works hard, dives a lot but his end product needs work Gathuessi looks good going forward but can't defend... sounds like another Zadi at least with them only being on loan if it doesn't work out they can be shipped back
-
Morais is a good player, surprised Hibs are letting him go on loan. He is like a Juanjo with more pace... good signing IMO (probably a replacement for Bazza) Gathuessi haven't seen enough of but there is a season ticket holder for Hibs at my work so I'll ask him what he thinks of the lad when he gets in I'm actually glad these guys are loan signings, obviously freeing up cash to get a couple of permanent signings

Could it be, Harry, that the player's agent(s) are sniffing a quick buck and the Board don't have a snowballs chance in Hell of resigning them. This, I would suggest, is one of the unsettling things that can escalate in the dressing room, if the players are allowed to stay till the season end. Every other player could then play 'hard to get' when it comes to resigning time for them, as he has heard nothing but 'I have made this much by moving' from Black/Cowie, for the previous few weeks. Let's be sensible here, Black/Cowie will justify their move, in the dressing room, either by talking up their financial take or talking down their present employer or a mixture of both! Poison for any employer looking to have a 'team' and our strength is normally the team spirit, reported as 'punching above our weight' or 'big players' - when in fact we are just playing for each other. Their is no doubt that player's agents definitely have a hand in this but if the board had some faith and tied players down on 3yr contracts rather than just 2 yrs (so they can perform well for a year and then sign for free with someone else) then it wouldn't be an issue

Fair comment

Don't forget your pitch forks and flaming torches peeps joking...
-
Agreed looks as though he has the minerals to be a cracking player for the future and we need to sure up his contract but it seems to be something the board just haven't got a grasp of... Dargo, Black and now it seems Cowie is offski get it sorted!!

Novo's only kick at goal, in the first 45, was from the half way line when he tried to lob Esson and I would suggest if you think of the game, Miller and Novo, their left side striking partnership, were neither in the match, first half. Rossco was also helping build up attacks so to say he was MINCE only confirms my point already made, don't we all see players/matches from a differing view point. The second 45, with his injury, followed by his substitution, does not allow much comment. He just seemed to give away possesion too easily and did the first goal not come from down our right side For a defensive player he seemed far too concerned with getting up the park.. I usually appreciate Tokely's efforts but I thought he had a bad day at the office
-
Esson Proctor Tokely Munro McBain Cowie Black Vigurs Imrie Rooney Barrowman
-
I can see why everyone would like him to change position because he was mince on Sunday but if I was putting him anywhere, and I've been saying this for years, I would have him and Granty as our 2 centre halves.... could you imagine the dedication, understanding and how solid the two of them would be???? just me?? I just can't see why it hasn't been attempted for a period of time because he would be solid and for the size of the guy I think he would be more of a natural centre half than Proctor is
-
The guys were always going to up for a game like that... with or without Brew.. The problem is.... does he have what it takes to get them fired up for the likes of the Hamilton game? Fair comment although remember we were utterly humiliated at Ibrox so the team probably required some guidance and a few pep talks But some posters on here seem to suggest that Brew has lost the dressing room judging by that performance.... we were extremely well organised in the first half, which if anything tells me they were complying with everything Brew was asking from them second half we had to open up to get back into the game and Smith made an excellent sub by bringing Burke on to exploit the spaces in the midfield I was gutted that we didn't get a goal at least because I believe we deserved that much
-
The best chance we had all game was when McBain got past Papac on his wrong foot and crossed it for the Vigurs header IMO the looked more demoralised, no wonder after being the better team for 45 mins only to come out the second half, make one mistake and get punished by a world class goal I can understand everyone is taking potshots at Brew whenever possible but I have no qualms with Sunday's performance.. we had a good game plan that was working up until we lost a goal and then we had to chase the game. The 2 things I questioned when I saw the starting line up were why McBain on the right and Proctor in at centre half again but McBain was probably our MOM and Proctor's pace made Miller totally ineffectual for Rangers, so much so he was the first player to get hooked Tokely was abysmal.... worst performance I've seen from a player in a long time
-
So "incompetant" that if it wasn't for these guys we wouldn't have a club.... I'm sure if they ever did read through this guff they are probably asking why they bothered
-
Why Harry, do you keep on insisting giving Brewster 'a chance'? He's run out of chances as from when you last said this, he has guided us to the bottom of the league after 6 straight defeats. And we criticise what he has to say after the game as he says the same thing week in/week out. If we lose to Partick do you really think that he will be sacked?! And if we win against Partick and lose against Hamilton do you really think he'll be sacked?! No, because the board will look at it like 'well at least he won one of the games'. The likely hood of us winning both is very low, and that is how far my confidence goes just now with the fate of Caley. With Brewster at the helm, and the constant 'chances' he is getting, then not much is bright for the future. Oh and just to add... what will your opinion be if his 'chance' to prove himself ends in two straight defeats? When we're to late to do anything about it due to us giving him a 'chance'? I'll be surprised but I wont be throwing a hissy fit and demanding his resignantion. I don't believe we will be any better off with someone else, even Sir Ferguson would have struggled with the squad, budget and most importantly the fans we have at the moment. Someone has to come bottom of the league and we need to fight with every other team to try and make sure the second half of the season is a resurgence... there isn't an easy solution besides what decent manager is going to want to come to ICT when they know if things go ugly we are going be outside of the stadium with banners asking for his job... we have too many Football Manager fans that think the job is easy because they can win the Champions league in their 3rd season (I've done it as well) get a grip!
-
To be fair to Brew I thought he sounded far from defeated on Setanta and I think most* would have trouble arguing with anything he said. I am gutted to be at the bottom of the SPL (trust me, living in Glasgow I get pelters every minute at work) but I think everyone here knows that if he loses one of the next 2 games he is out so instead of bitching about every comment that comes from the club why not at least give him the chance to prove himself over the next 2 games??? *I'm sure someone will... IHE I have no idea how you got your conclusion from that statement? He quite clearly states that he needs to stand up and be counted, which surely is criticism towards his own performance Judging by the first half against Rangers the players still have belief in him... 2 games to save his job, I'll give him that
-
That's a point I'm trying to get across Scotty. The board have to be 100% sure about sacking Brew, before they take action. Unless they have a candidate in line they know will make a positive contribution to our team then I don't see how they can afford to pay severence and money for someone else. I am sure they will have had a crisis meeting by now to draw up possible replacements but I would really be clutching at straws to think of any managers that we wont have the same problems with next year If we go for another inexperienced candidate we are taking another massive gamble?? If we go for the tried and tested (lets face it, if they are old and not with a club they have probably screwed up somewhere else before coming to us) Robbo would be brilliant for PR but look what happened with him at Livi?? Colin Calderwood screwed up at Forrest and the fans hated him... even after winning promotion???
-
It's clear the majority of the supporters on this forum want a replacement for Brew. I am curious to read who each of you would pick as the next ICT manager? I usually hate threads like this (asking for replacements before the guy has been shunted) but it's true we are on our worst run of form (ever?) and there is plenty of reasons to criticise our current chief/commander. My opinion would be to stick with Brew and see if he can turn it around (although my glass is brimming compared to others) but I can certainly understand the discontent Who are your top 3 candidates for the job IF it becomes available?

I take it back Scotty it wasn't just the money.... BBC Link
