Cost of a Rangers NewCo to our club.......
I think you've had your answer. Anyway it's a moot point as NewCo Rangers will be playing in the SPL next season.

Goodbye SPL
True, but given that the SPL board is currently - Ralph Topping (SPL Chairman), Neil Doncaster (SPL Chief Executive), Eric Riley (Celtic FC), Stephen Thompson (Dundee United FC), Derek Weir (Motherwell FC) and Steven Brown (St Johnstone FC) it seems that the SPL clubs are not independent of the SPL board which seems to be the point you were making. Absolutely right. This "incubator company" is complete tosh and only there to appease Rangers fans who won't support a new company if the old Rangers were liquidated. Let's not liquidate old Rangers but leave them hanging there with debts of £130 million in the vain hope that one day these debts can be settled and old Rangers and new Rangers can rejoin. Meanwhile new Rangers carry on spouting their bile up and down the country. The whole thing stinks and I want no part of it any more. But that's just my personal opinion and I respect the opinion of anyone who thinks otherwise.

Goodbye SPL
Just heard on Radio Scotland Paul Clark from Duff and Phelps saying that Bill Miller will take over Rangers and transfer all the assets to a new company, leaving all the debt in the old company (good luck to all the creditors then and that includes all us taxpayers). He also went on to say that Miller has received assurances from the authorities that the new Rangers company will play in the SPL next season. That's the end for me. Not going to pay good money to follow a team in a crooked league. A league that supports a club that evaded tax for a decade. A league that supports a club that owes £130 million because they bought the SPL title for a number of years and has no intention of paying this money back. I'll get my football kicks at Clach or City next season.

Can'i do it by software alone unfortunately, you need some hardware to convert the AV output from the video recorder into a format that YouTube can use, an AVI file in my case. I can show you what you need to buy to do the conversion yourself or you can send the tape to me and I'll upload it to the YouTube channel. Happy to do it either way.

Didn't really record anything after we went up to the first division as we were on tv every week by then. Before that it was a rarity to be on tv so I usually recorded it when we were. I have the cup game against Dundee Utd at Tannadice in 1998 but don't have the replay. I used to have the first ever league game v Arbroath but can't find it now. If anyone's got any games on tape that they would like to share on YouTube I would happily upload them if you post me a copy of the tape, which I would return of course. Stick to pre SPL days. It would be great to build a comprehensive archive of footage from our days before we joined the big league, available for ICT fans the world over to enjoy. PM me if so.

Classic Clips on YouTube
Well I finally got round to transferring some VHS stuff from the 90s onto the pc and then uploaded it to YouTube. The first 2 games on my CaleyClips channel are: Stenhousemuir 0-1 Caley Thistle, Scottish Cup Feb 1996. ICT 2-0 Ross County Nov 1996 (2nd game at the new stadium) A full 25 minutes of the Scottish Cup tie v Rangers at Tannadice in 1996 will hopefully be added soon! Enjoy it here.

Best moment and worse moment
Here's that Iain Stewart chip v County that was mentioned above. Real classy finish. Iain Stewart Chip.wmv

Another special moment - Brian Thomson, Scottish Cup 1996.Thommo Goal.wmv

Best moment and worse moment
That's my best moment too. 1 on 1 with Hutchison about 20 - 25 yards from goaI and instead of the usual trying to round the keeper he just chips the ball about 20 feet over his outstretched arms straight in to the back of the net. I had that goal on VHS and will look to see if I still have it. If so it'll be appearing on YouTube in the near future along with some other forgotten gems!

ICT -V- Aberdeen
Why are you repying? Why are you posting on a Caley Thistle fan site if you have now switched to supporting County? When County get relegated, maybe not next year but whenever it comes, who will you jump ship and start supporting then? Whoever is playing well I guess, worse than a gloryhunting old firm fan. They just stop going to games when they are losing, not pick a new team who is winning.. Dont let the door hit you on the arse when you leave... Looked at his previous posts and came to the conclusion that he is a troll. A sad consequence of the digital age.. Just click his name and hit "ignore me".

ICT -V- Aberdeen
Wasn't there today thank funk. Have been picking and choosing my games this season. Seriously considering getting my football kicks at Grant Street next season. If Rangers do the newco thing and get straight back in to the SPL it will make the decision a lot easier.

SFA NFL
Sounds more like a war to me. This battle for control of Scottish football is going to be a long and attritious one I think.

Our oldest rivalry
I think he just did. For a newcomer to the city he seems to know a lot about IHE's habits pre 1994... It's almost like a new issue of LSM reading the posts of Dougal/AlDoug.

Rangers go into administration
Anyone who isn't already disqualified, has £14, and the ability to fill out a few forms can incorporate a company. They can call it whatever they like as long as it isn't too similar to other company names and it doesn't contain a few certain sensitive keywords. I could register "Govan Football Club Limited" next week with Companies House as a private limited company should I choose to do so. Means feck all in reality.

But how much will they sell the assets to newco for? £1 seems to be a popular figure these days. It certainly ain't going to be £134 million or anywhere close. The liabilities stay with the old company so the creditors get eff all. So, this is my understanding. There are 2 choices: Get 75% (by value) of creditors to agree to a Company Voluntary Arrangement or Scheme of Arrangement. e.g. for every pound owed you will get 30p and Rangers plc carry on trading Liquidate the old company and form a new one. The old company sells the assets like Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park to the new company for a nominal fee like £1. The debts stay with the old company so the creditors get nothing. Now I see why people are screaming for sanctions against a newco if they were to enter the SPL. Catch on quick don't I? The sale of Rangers to Whyte wasn't 1 pound. The actual sale amount was all the bank debt plus 1 pound. The confusion comes from the fact that he only used 1 pound of his own cash. Any new bidder will not be able to buy Rangers for 1 pound. For example the bidders would have had property consultants analyse the value of Ibrox, the Murray Centre so they can make an informed bid. It is also worthwhile noting that there is no relationship between Rangers and Newco. This is because Rangers would be liquidated before Newco would exist. In saying that there would be no legal issue (that I know of) that would stop Newco calling the club Govan Rangers Maybe you didn't notice I used the term "nominal fee" in relation to £1? Quite correct that Rangers plc and NewCo plc would be separate legal entities. Surely they can both exist in the same time frame though...no need for one to die before the other is born.

Rangers go into administration
A couple of things stood out for me reading through the report: Arsenal shares - Rangers holding of these was sold for £223,214 in January via a broker that Craig Whyte just happened to be company secretary of. The proceeds have of course vanished and the brokers themselves are now in administration. Duff & Phelps have charged £1.2 million in fees in the first 6 weeks of administration. I know it's a complicated case but £200k a week? Seems very high to me. Also, if the company is liquidated how is it that the assets like Ibrox Stadium and Murray Park can just simply be transferred to a new company? Does the term "liquidation" not mean converting illiquid assets (buildings, fittings etc.) into liquid assets (cash) so that creditors can be paid? Confused on this point.

Rebuild this Summer or Not?
What has happened to Tom Aldred anyway? Is he injured? Went in a huff and packed his bags because TB realised he had got a stinker of a player. Didn't expect to get such a quick bite there! You almost broke my rod!
