  1. The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters' Trust AGM takes place this Thursday, November 23rd in the ICT Social Club on Greig Street at 7.30pm. All Trust members are invited to attend but existing Trust members must have paid their 2006-07 subscription before the start of the meeting. New members can join on the night and will be able to attend the evening's football forum which will follow the AGM at around 8pm. Club Chairman, Alan Savage, and Trust Vice-Chairman, David Sutherland, will be among those on the forum panel. Any queries should be directed to info@ictsupporterstrust.co.uk
  2. Having worked in the whisky trade for a number of years, it was interesting to read through this. My own preference are the Islay Malts which I think are all very good. They are not all heavily peated - try Bunnahabhain or Bruichladdich. Laphroaig 15 or the very affordable Quarter Cask are top notch. Lagavulin is excellent but over-priced as they can't keep up with demand. Bowmore 17 or Darkest, anything from Ardbeg and younger Caol Ilas all hit the spot. Away from Islay, Highland Park, Clynelish, Macallan, Balvenie would be in my malt SPL. However, my Christmas gift to you is this word - Mortlach. Without a shadow of a doubt, in my view, the most under-rated of all malts. If you know anyone who is a member of The Wine Society get them to order you a bottle of their 15 year old 40% (under £20) or the cask strength (under £30). Both are absolutely outstanding.
  3. How does the old prayer go? From ****, Hull and Halifax, Oh Lord preserve us. Actually, I've been to Halifax and it ain't that bad.
  4. No, it was the 7th Seaforths - part of the 15th Scottish Division. My uncle is buried at St Manvieu War Cemetery. I really had no idea about the circumstances surrounding his death but got all the information I needed when a bit of research led me to the young officer he served as batman. We still keep in touch.
  5. I was expecting big things from him this season and don't know what has happened. I suppose we have quite a few midfielders and he has been squeezed out. You could replace the midfield against Hibs with Black, Morgan, Keogh and Hart and they could be equally effective.
  6. Normandy is indeed well worth a visit. I've been there a couple of times as my uncle was killed on June 26th 1944 while fighting with the Seaforths in an action called Operation Epsom just to the west of Caen. Such was the level of carnage for a number of Scottish regiments, the area of the fighting is still known as the Scottish Corridor.

Blimey, this has gone off topic.
  8. Coming in the week Brewster got the heave-ho you've just got to love this. Well done 10CC!!
  9. There was a time when part of growing up in Inverness involved a trip to the RNI to have your tonsils or adenoids yanked out. Anyone out there suffer in this way? DJS (less his adenoids).
  10. Not sure if he was a left footer but he certainly kicked the ball with his left foot. Loved the way he wore his shorts up around his oxters.

  12. Yep, the thought, "Will I go for Luggie?" must have crossed the grocer's mind in the last 24 hours.

Not at the moment Ronaldo, but I will speak to the club to make sure they still have that list to hand.

Following discussions with the club, ICT Supporters Trust have been asked to assist them to put together a team of supporters who would be willing to be called out to help get the ground ready for games during periods of adverse weather. As we hurtle towards winter yet again you just know that at some point there will be a need to clear the pitch of water or snow before a referee will give the game the go ahead. In addition some work may need to be done to the stands and walkways before the match commander will agree the ground is safe to let spectators in. The club is keen, therefore, to have a group of volunteer fans who can be called out in such situations. A meeting will be held in the next few weeks for interested parties and if you would like to be involved or want more information please email the Trust on info@ictsupporterstrust.co.uk.
  15. Convince the team they are 1-0 down before the game starts. That way they might just have a go at the Pars.
  16. No buckett, they nearly made it to the play-offs and were something like 5th in the league. Hardly sensational stuff. I have been amazed at their poor performance since they arrived in the SFL. With hindsight there is probably one too many league teams in the north of Scotland and Elgin's place would have been better going to someone else.
  17. Elgin City - The East Stirling of the north. They have totally under achieved since their arrival in league football. I thought Brian Irvine might sort them out this term but it does not look like it.
  18. The boy's a genius! Aged 9, he was scoring goals for Cowdenbeath without even playing for them. http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/1stT...7~30743,00.html
  19. I spent a couple of hours yesterday at the YourInverness event in the Sports Centre representing the Supporters Trust. During this time I got speaking to a lady from the Inverness Polish Association. This organistion now estimates there around 5000 Poles in the Inverness area and this has not gone unnoticed with ICT who have run adverts and are printing leaflets advertising games in Polish. Anyway, the Inverness Polish Association was keen to try and put together a football match between ICT fans and some of the lads in the local Polish community aged in their late teens and twenties. I said to them I would post something here to see if anyone was willing to have a go at organising this.

The police were good on Saturday. When myself and a mate took a wrong turning when looking for the turnstiles, a cheery local constable pointed us in the right direction so as we didn't come into contact with what he described as the "dirty, smelly barstewards." :015:
