  1. If he keeps this up he will be looking at a reduced wage and a trip over the feckin bridge next season.
  2. ITS A BLACK DAY FOR SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL - That should suit both points of view !!
  3. Forans fecks - Warrens whitterings - Kings keek
  4. Dinna fret CallieAnne - the castigators are the ones who usually whinge about being castigated. It is what is known as "projection" as they are merely projecting their own anger and frustrations on to you. From a psychological perspective this may be of assistance in understanding the "attacks" that you have experienced: Projections protect us by keeping a lid on the terror that knowledge of our negative qualities might provoke. You project your own guilt and anger on to others when you judge and label the other person¹s actions instead of just observing or witnessing them. Carl Jung believed that the projection defense functions like a mirror between the ego and the unconsciousness personality. The negative characteristic that has been disowned which has been tying up psychic energy in the ego will be reflected in the person¹s daily experience Alternatively just tell them to feck aff and use appropriately stirring smileys
  5. I can understand and agree with all of that but if I was picking the team for TB's perspective then I would be including Sutherland. A drift from the dogged peservation in regard to selection and tactics would be very encouraging. So what would you go or yerself and the same question to others ? I feel that there must have been a fall out between Meekings and TB. Meekings was played in all the friendlies and appeared to be a cert to start. I have only seen Raven twice but was not convinced on either occasion and I felt that meekings completely stole the show at Midden. Meekings appears to have more pace, is more attack minded and also has the long throw option. Raven looks unsure and uneasy at rite back. It may well be that he needs more time to adjust and gel in. And before the happy clappers chip in this is not a knock at Raven - it is an attempt to bring some tactical debate in to this.
  6. Feck me is it scaled down ?
  7. Looks like most peeple are going with the same. I note that all of you prefer Raven in front of Meekings. My only change would be Meekings for Raven. Am I missing summat ? Can I ask the rationale behind that preference ? For the first time in a long time selections of the fans are comparative to how the team turns out. The "trick" will be, as Luke alludes to, the ability to interchange and change the system. We have players like Draper and Foran who can hold and allow the likes of Raven and Shinnie to attack as well as defend. Ross and Doran can interchange. Shinnie can move about in the "hole" and I feel that McKay could go wide to allow Ross to move forward. The more "systems" that we can adapt to the better.
  8. On the flip side - Moan about the product when you show up to watch it and you feel that it wasnt worth the expenditure or the effort.
  9. Aye were'nt the old Kingsmills programmes a joy to behold. Personally I would prefer to read the ingredient list on a Kingsmills bread wrapper.
  10. Have to disagree with Mannie here as this forum is fascinating from a psychological perspective at the moment. There appears to be a sudden intensity to "attack" any form of negativity - or perceptions of negativity - and then a realisation that much of what those posters are saying has an understandable basis, often when said posters have clarified their statements and pointed out the "hidden" positives. It is also so, so interesting that supporters who have been watchers rather than staters have decided to vent their feelings - and undoubtedly due to concern about their perceptions of the direction the club is going. I really do feel (note I am using the "I" word again) that the events of last season have really had a marked negative effect on the support in general. The "fun" has gone out of supporting ICT for many. The "togetherness", the "family feel" and the "enjoyment" has gone but realistically so have the winning days of the SFL, the cup runs, being the favourites. The realisation that we are a SPL survivors in every sense of the word appears to have escaped the psyche of many. Even the ground "rules" of the SPL are clearly having a negative effect and the "joy" of huddling together in make shift stands and hedges whils standing, singing, moving around without the fear of being singled out by stewards are a thing of the past - sad but fact. The solutions are far from easy or achievable. WE would all have to applaud the efforts of many to try and make life off the pitch better and I can understand their frustrations when peeple complain about their "treatment" as it feels "personal" to them and makes them feel that their efforts are worthless. But that is consumer satisfaction feedback and it should be a case of taking every gripe on its merit and learning lessons. I also feel that some posters have painted a "new beginning" and hyped up this new squad and the so called "system". And then, for many, those high expectations are crushed after 25 minutes and they find themselves sitting in a "time warp" in season 2011-2012 and the feeling already that the bubble has burst and it is all going to be the same old garbage on display again. That is why I feel that criticism of the tactical approach and selection is as important to change things around as anything else. I dont care what anybody else says but there are still basics errors being made that need correction. BUT please, please have patience and hold the faith - I am. I am more on the pessimistic side but it really is too early to despair. If we are still getting the same posts in October and November then we may have to act but we have to give time for this side to get to know each other and we need to give Terry an Mo time to sort out the issues and the game plans. Again it is not going to be easy BUT I - I - would be looking at the cups as being of major importance as a morale booster and - maybe apart fro Reguero - I would be going fer bust in those games and hoping that lady luck favours the draws. 11. Can I just stress that I am not posting under the name of CallieAnnie !! I am so glad that a "normal" person other than the seasoned detractors have made such a stand. Callie is actually saying what the large majority of us have been concerned about for yonks but she has put in a very realistic, genuine and emotional manner. I do know a little Italian called Gino Decampo. I was merely trying to stress that Callie was as apt a user name as Forza is and certainly makes a lot more sense in a polite rather than impolite manner.
  12. Bait Red Snapper perhaps? All it needs is stale bread to hook davie
  13. That is what I was going to ask before I was so rudely interrupted !! Can some body with a footballing brain, qualified or unqualified attempt to clarify what exactly went wrong. As I posted after the Midden match my concern was that our system was positive but if the likes of unqualified peeple such as maself can suss how it works and where the potential flaws are then what about the more qualified peeple ? I was hoping that a home game would provide me / us with a concept of what Plans B,C and D would be - how we could change the system quickly if necessitated. As Alex states it is not what we do but how we are able to change the system and style. Some teams do this time after time and often in relation to the opposition. Or was it simply a case of some players playing poorly - or out of position - or not used to playing with each other etc., etc., etc.
  14. It is like one of those before and after adverts - possibly fer Captain Morgans. It reminds me of ma Karaoke fave
  15. We have the makings of a great magazine here.
  16. Oh fer fecks sake Luke - we will have Caley D, Oddquine and davie spouting sociology soon.
  17. "For me, I was looking to see a team with a different shape and a bit more potential for this campaign....I've seen enough so far to believe we have that (both from pre-season and first two SPL games)." Now that is spot on and I have been echoing that, despite what some bitter peeple believe - with a drop of "concern" implanted in it.
  18. And many of us do - I am certainly Caley till I die - and I would follow if we were in the Third Division. But what most people are missing is that it cannot be "blind devotion" - this is a football club not a sect and we have Butcher at the helm and not feckin Manson. You cannot escape criticism in any form of life but I do agree that it has to have a rationale behind it - as CallieAnne and ma good self always provide.
  19.   But there are tirades on this thread that are personalised - and the hyperbole is some posters perception of a contrary opinion. I suspect that most of the posts on this thread are heartfelt and borne out of frustration. The fundamental "wish" of most again appears to enjoy a day out at the footie and to be entertained to a degree. When the feck did we ever play cavalier football in the SPL ? Again most posters on here simply would like to see us trying to play the ball on the deck, for the players to look as if they are playing for the shirt and for the management to alter their tactical spin and selection. We ALL want the club to stay in the SPL but when you pay good money in the cause you deserve some return. Open yer feckin mind and look at it from the eyes and voice of somebody else
  20. Soft adminstration licking creep.
