  1. Can I suggest that this thread is closed. It is old hat, history and unhelpful. We are in season 2012-2013 and the slate has been wiped. Only performances and managerial influence should be judged from henceforth.
  2. Ross is merely saying what the majority of non happy clapping, rose tinted spectacle wearing, forever optimists are saying. I feel that the article is practically bang on and indeed provides a reality check. I actually feel that it did contain several positive statements, albeit more in a hopeful nature - which is again realistic. There is equally a drop of humour mixed in. I had even found myself agreeing to a degree with the Jamboree rodent - As many of us have alluded to before last season was a feckin disaster area from start to finish. This pre season has not been anywhere as bad but we are starting off the campaign with a relatively untried squad, there are still doubts about the first eleven, tactics have been variable and we are really at risk with injury prone signings with no experience comparable to the SPL. But the slate is clean and the murmurs is that the togetherness factor is back and we have players. Yearning to play for the shirt, with a blend of experience and yoof. The performances on the park however are the proof of the pudding and hopefully there will be more positives to ponder on and provide fresh hope this evening. O2B
  3. I suspect that Oddquine is a white witch so I am staying out of any feckin analysis in case I am turned into something nasty like a Wicker.
  4. I was told that it was his agent who made the final decision. As my old mate WC Fields once whispered to me - Never cry over spilt milk as it may have been poisoned.
  5. That certainly does not mean that some of us will be silent if we feel that we are treading the same path as previous seasons. I am already concerned about his potential selection and tactics for Midden. As far as I am concerned I will say it as I see it - warts and all.
  6. I really miss Squirrell and his posts but I dont miss his legal action threats :maniac: even though I would have grassed on Mantis if it did come about. But as Caley Stavros points out the "concern" is shared by many of us and I feel that there would have been even more if they had come on board and/or more finances were available. It is a wonder that Squirrell has not also added that the majority are also carrying long term injury histories. But the initial signs have been encouraging and Midden may also tell us if the leopard has changed his spots. I feel that there is no hiding place and TB may be judged for the first time this season and I really do hope that he brings it off.
  7. Screwed up ?? I am on ma way.
  8. Moaning git - Don was busy concentrating on the feckin colour apportioning.
  9. Years of experience and a high IQ - Many thanks for your continued idolising.
  10. I wouldnt be Russian to conclusions.
  11. Renegade - you are fecked.
  12. Feck me Fraz - they have a gramaphone in the Alamo.
  13. I will be there full of spirit.
  14. They are even painting the feckin post boxes gold in Eccleston and there is a huge pisss up in the Farmers Arms tomorrow nite.
  15. It looks like Charlie in the background in the hat. There is a tenuous link as a cornet is distinguished by its conical bore and Charlie is distinguished as a comical bore.
  16. Why dont we feckin merge the two and call it " Caley all the Way up the Hub of the Hill" ?? Where can we meet and who is going to guard the ballot box ?
  17. Mabaws - Welcome to our miserable clown.
  18. Dont tell me that SKY is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.
  19. Just realised that the wee Pepperpot was'nt included. Was he unfit / injured or is he moving up to feature against Midden ?
  20. In my opinion the perfomance is as important as the result and tactics give us a feel of how we are going to play, who and where. I take it that Foran was at the back which evidently points that he may well be favoured in central defence this season. I take it that Martin Laing was played again at right full back so that may where he will fill in this season. My worries are that this looks like the team that will NOT start at Midden and, if so, that could mean that neither Morrison or Ross are in contention and that could mean that TB is sticking with Sutherland and OTJ - which I feel is a mistake. Was Ross played wide or in behind Oswell again. And if Oswell was up front then did he have scoring opportunities as his lack of goals must also be a concern.
  21. Succinct and to the point I would be willing to do a sponsored pub crawl !!
  22. So will we be calling the first full bus the Caley bus and the second unlikely to be filled bus the Jeggies Bus. That sounds more appropriate than the boring use of CaleyJags Bus I and Caley Jags Bus II - were these issues considered prior to the merger and was there a meeting held and a vote taken ?
