Callum Elliott
More on Elliot in the P&J online today... ELLIOT INTEREST

Di Giacomo & Wales
I'm not sure which worries me more the lack of transfer activity or some of the names suggested on here! :023:

MARIUS WATCH
It's a shame but lets face it Romania were rather poor tonight. Far too much emphasis on trying to give Mutu the ball and then to stand back and watch him go. That right 'winger' was hopeless and should have been hooked at half-time. It must have felt a lot like playing for ICT for Niculae with the supply he got. Ho Humm. Let's just hope that's not the last time we see Marius in action :007:

Callum Elliott
Mentioned in the Inverness Courier today as a player we are 'interested' in!!
-
Andy Barrowman
It wouldn't be a transfer window without an ICT signing saga and it looks like this one is going to drag on some more. Link....... Brewster won't give up bid for Barrowman It might be an idea in the future not to bother to set deadlines as quite it makes us frankly look stupid when the player ignores them and yet we are still desperate to sign him :029: Worrying mentions as to a possible interest in Callum Elliot in the article :017:

Andy Barrowman
Buchanan chose Partick Thistle because they offered him a full time contract whereas we offered only him a second trial As for Barrowman it's obvious we are extremely, shall we say 'keen' :023: to sign him and seem to be bending over backwards in an attempt to secure his signature. It's now reached the stage where I think we should be helping him make his decision by withdrawing our offer!

Andy Barrowman
According to the Highland News <LINK HERE> the LATEST deadline is Friday night!!! :crazy07: Also says there maybe no new signings till July & Brew is off to Euro 2008 to finish his coaching badges

Dubious England Connection Thread
Well it was inevitable but finally someone cracked and during the Spain Vs Russia game on Radio 5 Graham Taylor (the ex-England manager) managed to mention England winning the World Cup in 1966 :clapping03:

More signs of weakness
I'm more concerned that none of them are good enough for us to pinch off them next season :023: :tic01:

More signs of weakness
The deadline is tomorrow according to the Inverness Courier. They also mention a possible swap with St Johnstone with us getting Jackson and them getting Bayne

Dubious England Connection Thread
England managed to get a couple of mentions on the Radio 5 commentary of the Switzerland Vs Czech Republic. The Swiss substitute at the beginning of the 2nd half was introduced as 'the player you might remember from Euro 2004 who lined up against England, a game in which of course we won 3-0!' and this beauty which may be hard to top... Apart from Peter Czech which player on the pitch would get in the England team! :029:

Romania v France......
Shut down Ribery and France will struggle. **** we beat them twice that should tell you all you need to know about them :023: Lets face it we are more than a little naive about other national teams. Our 'knowledge' tends to be based heavily on what they did in the past and it really has little relevance. Who here bet on Greece to win the last Euro's?

P&J today...
In today's P&J it says we are now expecting an answer from Barrowman NEXT week!
-
Romania v France......
Romania have more than a decent chance of making it through the group stages. Italy are an ageing team, France are living off past glories & the Dutch failed to beat the Romaians in qualifying managing only a scoreless draw at home

Scotty Brazil v Canada Sat May 31 2008 19:30 Is Hastings likely to get a game? Quite a scalp for him if so :021:

Cowie staying?

Our First Signing Failure
In today's P&J....CALEY Thistle have missed out on Morecambe midfielder Garry Thompson ? but Inverness manager Craig Brewster won?t slacken his recruitment search. Brewster made an approach to Thompson, 27, but the player has agreed a three-year-deal with relegated Championship side Scunthorpe. Thompson made more than 300 appearances for the Shrimps, but has turned down the chance to play in the SPL for the opportunity to move up to League 1. Brewster said: ?I will keep trying to identify players, go after them and see if they will come to Inverness.? Apparently he is a winger

Romanian Provisional Squad Officially Announced
I'm looking forward to that d**k John Motson saying 'Inverness Caledonian Thistle' during a commentary - not that I can bare to listen to the man :015:

Summer transfer targets
For some unknown reason I keep thinking we are going to try and sign John Stewart from Falkirk - it's not a pleasant thought :007: I hope Marius stays (I know he won't though)
-
Cowie staying?
Totally agree. Seems a no brainer that we should be tying him up on a long contract ASAP. Saying that what odds, come January, we'll be beginning negotiations 'next week' :029:

Things to moan about when theres no football.
Romanian FA would have to pay his wages
-
Andy Barrowman
Here's the link for the story.... CLICKITY CLICK Basically Brewster saying he's our Number 1 (only?) signing target & Barrowman saying he's going to wait as long as possible before deciding who to sign for :rolleyes02: Also St Johnstone & Dunfermline have made enquiries about Bayne & Deano is being released on a free transfer!

Andy Barrowman
Apparently we will know by Thursday whether we've got our man or not. Of course, going by previous transfer sagas at the club that probably means the final Thursday in August :tic01:

Wyness Future
Just wondered what people thought about the article in today's Inverness Courier? CRAIG Brewster has conceded defeat in trying to keep Dennis Wyness and maintains it is now "highly unlikely" that Caley Thistle's all-time top scorer will be at the club next season. Inverness manager Brewster had stated on Saturday that he planned to hold further talks with the 31-year-old yesterday, despite reports that Wyness, now out of contract, had already signed a two-year deal with St Mirren. Gus MacPherson, boss of the Paisley club, would only say that he had tabled an offer for Wyness, but was still waiting to hear back from his representatives. Brewster, however, understands that Wyness has opted to leave Caley Thistle, although he did not know if St Mirren was the club he has chosen to sign for. "I have tried to get in touch with Dennis, but I've not been able to get hold of him," he stated. "As far as I know, he is close to signing for someone else. Given the situation, then I would have to say it is highly unlikely that Dennis will be a Caley Thistle player next season." Seems like they are trying to saying Denzil walked away rather than being pushed? :023:
