  1. its the players who need the support, they have the club at heart and could do with cheering on. I'll be there supporting them and Brewster, i know i'll be the only one judging from this. I tend to see the team and the managers as one for all and all for one. the fans should adopt this and turn out for the aberdeen game, it sounds a bit gay, but this really is the time the boys need it most.
  2. Yep the tide is turning. I'm not quite an anti-brew yet but something has to change. If we don't beat aberdeen or motherwell then I am afraid to admit it might have to be the manager. I know i have defended the man to the death but its getting harder and harder to do so after each loss. We are losing against the teams above us who we should at least compete with while we are losing the really important games against the lower teams (st mirren). A team with a strikng partnership of wyness and hamilton managed to hump us. Not good. But, if you support ict then it is THE time to come out and go to the games, it is THE time the players need the support the most. Seriously, heckle brew all you want, but sometimes it's painful to see our own fans get on the backs of the players within seconds. there's still time for brewster to turn it around, but its fast running out.
  3. Hi robbo, know you've logged off, this one for the next time: why do you think we have such a lousy current home record? Is it the pressure of the fans expectations, the players cannot break a team down, other teams have susseed us out?
  4. Where better to learn your trade than at the top level in Scotland witha steady and usually reliable team? The home form has disappointed me as well, but I can still see a future under Brewster. As far as i can see we aren't going to get many if any more home wins but I'n happy if we can avoid the bottom ten. Not because i am aiming too low but because i recognise the standard has been upped this season.
  5. I'm not completely unswayable, i could still join the rabble of pessimistic anti-brews on this thread. But right now i see us in a position in the league which i would be happy to see us in at the end of the season. Can't believe that some people can go so quickly from absolute delirium one minute after beating a team away from home, to absolute depression the next when we lose to a utd side who are cleary far ahead of us. Sorry to burst yo're bubble but we aren't as good as utd. Those of you who think otherwise are more deluded than i am. As a comparison, if brew was a plyer in our youth ranks, and if he hadn't played amazingly in every game but showed glimpses of greatness (beating celtic 3-2, hearts by the same scoreline and Hibs 2-0 within a month) regularly, you wouldn't sack him and deride him, you'd declare him as an 'exciting prospect'. Thats the way i look at Brewsters managerial campaign so far. Seriously, can't wait to see the tirade of abuse for this realism and (i'll admit slightly extreme) optimism.
  6. may i remind you of dargo's pitiful goalscoring reocrd at killie before he came to us? plus rooney doesn't exactly have a better record.
  7. Brewster is still learning his trade. He is young, and still needs to work on aspects of his managerial abilities. But he has brought success to the club in the sense that he has kept us up and looks as though he can keep us up again. I know that one year we will go down, the way other clubs around us are improving is scary, and we don't have the resources. But brew signs good and promising players that will become the future of the club. He has given home-grown players their chance, and seems to be a good judge of character. I'll admit that he does need a PR man to tell him how to appeal to the fans (starting by keeping barry somehow) and could try sticking to the same tactics now and again. I cannot remember many SPL teams who sacked their manager at this stage of the season in our condition and have gone onto better things. If we can keep mcallister for 5 years and wyness for two when they are awful, then surely brew deserves his crack at the whip.
  8. Anyone in their right mind would come here right now, especially from a club such as Gillingham. We have the ability to pay good wages and any player who can start scoring the goals would immediately become a hero with the fans. From what I can see, what Brewster says and what he does are two completely different things.
  9. Brewster is set to get rid of mcallister, and player Rooney and Mulligan up front. He is exactly what we need, pace and power.
  10. Deano was awful, he didn't realise how good the standard is in the SPL, and he wasn't prepared to work hard to get in the team. Gary Mulligan seems to have everything that Deano missed, and more.
  11. Speaking to a man outside the ticket office at the reserve game yesterday, he revealed that he works within the deep cavern of commercial within ICT, and has seen a certain Gary Mulligan's name mentioned. Apparently he will be taken on trial for a week with a view to signing him in January. A former Irish U-21, he has so far scored 2 goals in 8 appearances this season for Gillingham. According to the unofficial forum, he is a pleyer with drive, passion and a great finisher. He has found himself slightly frozen out this year, and would be open to a move to the big metropolis of sneck. thoughts?
  12. expect brewster to play himself in every position, and lose 45-2. Then expect him to come out after the game (possibly literally) and state that "we played well in the first half, then i f*cked up the players confidence and morale with my boring speech. After that, we lost the goals and the game. Thats the way football goes, eh"
  13. Esson gk Proctor rb Hastings lb Munro cb Duff cb Cowie rm Imrie lm Black cm Duncan cm Vigurs cm Rooney fc Rooney to score the winner, 2-1 to us.
  14. Is brewster wise???? the last thing he should do is get rid of one of the club legends. He is now officially public enemy number one with most ICT fans, and i am growing closer to joining them.
  15. The best player i have ever seen. Will the last home game be against aberdeen? i feel a last minute winner coming, he always does things with style.
  16. Theres definitely a different feel to the club and the games now, an air of resignation as soon as the first goal goes in. Last season i felt that in any game, we could claw back a one or two goal defecit, and we did so many times. Now i don't see it happening even once.
  17. BRING JUANJO BACK someone with pace, skill and a helluva lot of experience in getting the fans off their feet and cheering on the team.
  18. mThe only attribute he has is his finishing ability. At county he would regualarly get 5-6 chances a game, but at caley he gets around 1 a game. He just isn't suited to the wasy we play, and should probably leave.
  19. The one thng that has been at the back of my mind ever since brew came to theclub was his failure at utd. In his previous spell with us he had the one-man goal machine dargo, and a solid defence with doddsy. Now we have no talisman such as dargs, and the gap in quality is looking scary, especially today. We were beaten by the better side but i would never expect such a performance of ineptitude. Barrowman looked absolutely shocking, his career is over with the club. Wilson should have been on from the start, at times like this we need someone like him to rally the troops and show a bit of passion and drive. The major worry is the way we seem to implode completely. Last season, i always had feeling, no matter if we were two or three down, that we could come back and win. Now i know that the match is over when the other team goes one up. There is a missing link, and last season the link was Super Marius Niculae. He always took the time to work with the midfield and build from there, and he could pull something out of the bag in an instant. The thing that really depressed me, risking the chance of being a doom-merchant, was watching a dundee utd player take a free-kick and narrowly miss, before going close again a couple of minutes later. We have no-one who could even get that close to goal. That is a MASSIVE gap in quality. Honestly right now i would settle for a player with minimal skill and power if they just had a bit of pace. Robertson was killing us today down the left, and duff was made a laughing stock. Still, i have faith in the club. The game was a write-off, and dundee utd are a very good side. All we need is a bit of pace and we have a good side there. BRING ON ST MIRREN......
  20. cheers for the info. went to see the clachers today as ict were playing away, fecking freezing and they got humped 5-0. Still, at ?5 or so, it was a snip. PLUS i got to stand at a football match without being thrown out.
  21. Zander will make a big impact when he is given his chance. The new barry wilson.
  22. Sounds like a good performance, the only fault being that we just didn't get the ball into the back of the net. I never write off a game we play in, but when we play away from home against the old firm, a good performance is enough for me. bring on utd.
  23. keep barry, we need to hold onto him as he is the ONLY man that i have seen put a decent ball into the box so far this season. without him, we don't have many players the fans can look up to and affiliate with.
  24. yeah same again please, except bring on rooney for wood late on, when we are a couple of goals clear of 'tic.
  25. I'll make a deal with all of the anti-brews; if craig doesn't win at least one games between now and the first game in January then I might have some doubts about him. Until then, we have falkirk, st mirren and motherwell trailing in our wake and we are 8th in the league. We are 6 points clear of the bottom and Hamilton don't look like they are winning their next couple of games. It all looks pretty good to me. A couple of home wins and we'll be laughing all thew way to the top six.
