  1. there are plenty of songs that are made up on the spot at particular games (killie for example with richie byrne and alan combe) but not many songs that are regularly sung, apart from the two already mentioned plus carefree, thats pretty much it.
  2. i'm selling my sliver PSP slim + lite, which i bought for ?120 from Argos at christmas, complete with 2 games (pro evolution soccer 2008 and medal of honor heroes 2), memory card, charger and the boxes for both the games and console. I'm looking to sell within a week or so, the price being ?100 o.n.o. The only reason I am selling is to raise some cash for a couple of away games, hopefully a semi-final and final . The PSP is in immaculate condition, and everything is in working order. If you are interested give me a pm, or email me at [email protected] :thumb04:
  3. If the club made a big fuss about the cup then i'm sure we would get about 6000 for the falkirk game. Say if Butch came out a couple of days before and stated: this cup game is a huge chance/biggest game so far. I'm sure a couple of thousand more would come along. I mean, i sit in section H, and there are people sitting around me who, like myself, haven't missed a league game for years; then they are nowhere to be seen for the cup games. Its downright strange. Anybody else think that if we weren't in our current position then we would pull bigger crowd? Everyone is focussed on the league, the cup just seems like a bit of a distraction for most.
  4. Not too many songs are sung at TC stadium, though it is getting better. The one that has always been and shall always be the cry from the supporters when we're playing well is: duh, duh duh, duh, duh duh, duh, duh, duh caley no classic, but easy to remember. although someone got creative and came up with, to the tune of 'when the saints go marching in' : oh inverness is wonderful oh inverness is wonderful its got a bridge and a castle oh inverness is wonderful
  5. at the risk of being completely off-topic, i've never liked the man. He slagged us off as soon as he jumped ship to Hearts, stole denzil from us and failed miserably. I know there is still a lot of sentiment left and most on here seem to have a lot of time for the man, but i just don't rate him. anyway, i love the courier's sport section. my faithful readers in the 'sports comment' section were rewarded last friday with my opinion on Brian Kerr signing. its the first paper i buy, probably because it dedicates almost all of its backpages to ICT.
  6. 1000 up from falkirk is decent, but i'd love to see a game other than the ones against the OF nearly sold out for a change. You'd think this could happen with a lower ticket price thanks to the Butcher bounce, especially for a massive cup game (1 away from another day in the sun). no matter the crowd, it will be a day i'm looking forward to already.
  7. Possibly the best draw, certainly it will be interested with us being 'relegation rivals', but also one of the hardest. I'd have rathered aberdeen, airdrie utd/dunfermline or hamilton. I wish the two clubs could get together and organise some decent ticket prices. ?15 isn't bad, but if ICT and falkirk agreed to lower that then we would easily get 5000-6500 instead of the wierdly low previous attendances. ?15 was alright in the previous rounds but i really want a good attendance playing hosts to falkirk.
  8. So as it turns out robbo was exactly the same as ardiles, publicly declaring his willingness to do the job only because he has been out of football for a while. Now that the ict manager isn't struggling he doesn't seem to love us as much now.
  9. Anyone at home, or possibly aberdeen/hamilton/falkirk away. I'd take celtic or rangers at home, i think we could take them. Not away though despite the extra money it would be better to have a day in the sun at Hampden.
  10. I honestly believe that if the game and the price to get in had been publicised a bit better there would have been a bigger crowd. ?10 for me and ?15 for adults is lower than usual, and normally more than 1000 or so turn up and pay to get into a league match. Crowds will always be a problem, but i thought more would turn up for a cup game against an spl side. Still, the players didn't seem to mind and it didn't take anything away from the game.
  11. Never a penalty, and the answer to your question is both diver and whinger. He is extremely overrated and whenver he comes up against a strong team like we were today, he runs completely out of ideas and then gives up.
  12. ps latviaman, would you be able to get the highlights off the bbc.co.uk website?
  13. Pretty good game, exceleent banter with richie. alan combe seemed a bit more focussed than usual today, last couple of times he responded to the heckling. Pavels was an absolute rock in the hearts of our defence, a stand-out performance from the big man. When he didn't have the ball he knew where to go to get it, and when he had the ball he always looked to play pass to the strikers feet: a joy to watch. I am confident we'll keep hiom, he seems to be settling in well enough, all the players celebrated his goal with him. Imrie was also class today, chasing everything, so probably deserved the MOM for sheer effort alone. the only downside was the low attendance, but it didn't stop the match being thoroughly enjoyable.
  14. great performance, showed celtic to be the sh*te team they are, nothing but a pathetic bunch of divers and moaners. exactly the same as rangers, they are a scar on the face of football. other than that, we played exceleently
  15. fantastic signing for a club battling relegation. much more confident now, we are as good as if not better than falkirk in terms of squad strength now.
  16. mike in goals. pavels in central defence, with munro partnering him. big dezbi-shabby left back (give him his chance) and roscoe right-back imrie wide elft and cowie wide right of midfield. duncan and black in central midfield rooonneey and barrowman up front (with foran replacing barrowman late on, although i have heard from a couple of people that hes out with a back injury) the only player i am worrying about is big dzebi-zadi. at times he looks a bit of a liability, but hopefully he will be on top of his game today. barrowman should now get a crack at holding down a first-team place, and rooney has consistently been our best player all season.
  17. yes we are staying up. i predict a win today will set the ball rolling. i don't know what it is but when the players have an air of confidence about them, they almost seem unbeatable. celtic aren't that good a team, they are relying a lot on the fact that rangers have their worst squad in years, and they feed off the 'fear' from the smaller teams when they coma calling. this time though there isn't going to be any fear, so we have a very good chance. once we win our first game, many more will follow. plus, we mostly seem to have a good record of post-split games, and those will be the big ones.
  18. Without butcher on the other end of the phone, neither of those would have given us a second thought. Eric is a good player, i've seen him a couple of times, and foran is an excellent signing for a club staving off relegation.
  19. Impressive if he has decided to join, he could easily sit with his easy setanta job and rake in the money. instead he wants to get back into management, and takes up a job with the club bottom of the spl and on the worst run in their history.
  20. the board have sense, they know that a new direction is needed with a new experienced manager. robbo isn't the way to go this time. maybe for the future when we are safe for the season, but not now. the pressure on him would be immense, the fans would expect an instant response and i think it just wouldn't materialise.
  21. he will never get the job. the board have already intimated that they want a nexperienced manager, no novices need apply was the jist of their statements. either that or your source is talking sh@te.
  22. not seen or heard anything, just a hunch. i mean someone with the same experience in football as a player and manager. i thought he made a decent job of manager, won the league with Blackburn.
  23. i seriously believe it will be a surprisingly big name. maybe not along the same lines of dalglish, maybe someone with the same reputation though. at least with the show yesterday, the players showed the new manager that he has something to work with.
  24. whats all the fuss about calderwood? he seems to be exactly the same as malpas, a failure. i have a funny feeling that the manager will be someone no-one reckoned with. not a nobody, but someone who has been out of the public eye for a while now. ian holloway anyone?
  25. Roscoe is just showing exactly the type of fight we need right now. A team in our position could do with more players of his calibre. With a new manager he will be back to his best, and flying down the right.
