  1. Does anyone else recall Frank McAvennie's post match rant? He literally ripped Celtic apart. I also seem to recall next to no praise from Strachan. A week before christmas and was the greatest game id been too. Goals, red cards, contreversy, a world class save from no other than Ike Fraser and the roof of North Stand nearly lifting off when Don Cowie rolled in the 3rd goal...truelly was a game that had everything.
  2. Even allowing he only played for 4 seasons for rangers , hardly hall of fame material ! Captained a terrific and successful Rangers side, brought Motherwell back from the dead, helped produce talents like James McFadden, guided them to a scottish cup final. Then he came here, brought us back to the SPL at the first time of asking, an achievment matched by only one other manager in the last 15 years who at one point was the national manager...yeah Butch is well average.
  3. I would hope its an Epiphone.
  4. Heard from a source a few months ago that he was attracting intrest from Cyprus (why i dont know). Agreed with whats been said, team would have looked alot better with him in it but his conduct over pre season was rather poor, good luck i suppose.
  5. Looking for an old Panini SPL sticker of the Caley badge, the one with the sparkly background to stick on my Les Paul guitar. Anyone got any??

    Mckay

He dosent really fit into the current set up and with Tade and Shinnie in such great form wee Billy wont be getting in anytime soon. The fact he hasnt even made the bench at times in the past month suggests Terry maybe isnt keen on him as well. Could be clash of personalities, could be lack of effort, it could be anything. If it gets to January and Billy's still in the same situation i think he'll be away.
  7. Got to agree with Alex, that Portacabin provides a good service as our club shop and ticket office so unless you have a suggestion as to where the club could move to you'll just have to accept it for what it is.
  8. He wont go - Hibs wouldnt be able to afford the compensation and if they could i doubt he would want to involve himself in another rebuilding program which Hibs essentially are. Agreed that his mostly likely place to leave us for would be somewhere like Ipswich, somewhere that is of significance to him. But he has reiterated on more than one occasion that both him and Mo are happy here and now that it looks like our new look side has just turned a corner in terms of performance and good fortune i dont see them leaving anytime soon.

    David Davis

Courier says that the club hopes to extend Davis's loan beyond January.
  10. As in former Liverpool player Stevie Nicol?
  11. Billy Davies being mentioned too.

    David Davis

Think this paticular case was argued yesterday with Davis's 5 star performance.
  13. Davis to get his loan extended would be excellent with the form he is showing. I still think Golobart and Chippendale will be gone in January and given his major lack of action is it possible that Billy McKay could be away? That would free up some space that imo should got towards 1 defender and 1 striker. A defender with a bit more of a track record and fast striker is what we need imo.
  14. Esson Piermayr, Tokely, Hogg, Gillet Davis, Tansey Hayes, A. Shinnie, Foran Tade Subs: Tuffey, Golobart, Meekings, G. Shinnie, Cox, McKay, Sutherland
  15. Just try and take the smile of my face...i dare you! What a terrific attacking display, a game that even at 1-0 down we were well on top off. Killie took the lead against the tun of play and right on half time Andrew Shinnie scores a cracking shot from a tight angle and we deservedly hit half time level. What followed was the greatest 20 minutes ive experienced in my young life as an ICT fan. Kenny Shiels was very naive to let such an inexperienced left back spend the afternoon against Jonny Hayes and it hurt them as Jonny cut in and scored a terrific shot from about 25 yards, a few minutes later Shinnie curls in another, followed by a terrific run and finish by Tade and to round of the rout Davis goes on a rampant run before Shinnie takes over and completes his hat trick. No debate about the penalty and didnt even see the 3rd goal. This could be the real turning point for us, we've been waiting to give someone a hammering and this was what came. There seemed to be more of an understanding as well, paticularly in midfield and attack, some of the passing and runs were wonderful and was an indication of the strides we are making. Pick of the bunch was Davis, he ran himself ragged from box to box today, got involved in a scrap but didnt let it affect his play and his relentless run which led to Shinnie's 3rd goal was nothing short of brilliant. Imho his twitter comments may be irritating to some but this boy has been a great addition to our midfield and has shown he has what it takes to succeed at this club. If possible we have to keep him until the end of the season. 2 concerns from today, one is that our defence is still very fragile, Killie produced very little today but still managed to find 3 goals. Once Hogg and Piermayr return we need to get this defence as settled as possible in order to improve it. The other is Tansey, showed great energy and a hunger to get forward today but he is far too concerned about playing the perfect pass and his set pieces were incredibly average too, he needs to keep it simple. So to sum up, incredible day out and one which will never be repeated for a while. A game that has really put the spirit back in the team and i think too in the fans, so well done to the lads and more of the same please.
  16. Only an excuse will have a field day with this if its true.
  17. Im not confident, Tokely's was thrown out the window and that was terrific challenge and with the other appeals been launched we will be the one knocked back to balance the books.
  18. Working on the assumption that both teams will be in the SPL next season i think would be excellent. I really miss the derbies and an SPL derby against County could net some serious coinage for both sides with Sky Sports and ESPN sniffing about. Would hope we dont groundshare, couldnt be a**ed about the toll it would take on the pitch with Motherwell being a prime example. The idea of us replacing them in the 1st division...now that is truely unthinkable.

    Richie Foran

He was back where he belonged yesterday on the left wing where he is at his best imo. Yesterday he was at the heart of everything, won loads of flick on's, his link up play was brilliant and he gave at least 100% (as did everyone). He didnt even seem to be having a go at many people in the team, heres hoping for more of the same in the coming weeks...thats the sort of performance we need from a captain.
  20. Esson Meekings, *Hogg, Tokely, Gillet Davis, Tansey Hayes, A. Shinnie, Foran Tade Subs: Tuffey, Golobart, G. Shinnie, Chippendale, Cox, McKay, Sutherland Hogg if he gets his appeal, if not then Golobart.

    Butcher OUT!

Surely it cannot be? Not again!
  22. Seathing after today. The attacking play today was the best weve had all season. Thought everyone had a great game going forward, including Foran, who i thought did his best to keep the attacks going and won almost everything in the air. Andy Shinnie and Tade also giving tireless displays. Thought Tansey was better but at the same time i think he could do more. Again several chances created but from some good saves from Rudolph and the cross bar could have easily been more. You can see why Motherwell are 2nd in the league, they come to a game like today, dont play anywhere near their best and still take all 3 points but the nature of the win was very hard to take, ive never seen a more ridiculous straight red in my entire life. Murphy was getting away from Hogg sure, but from what i saw Murphy had at least another 2 players to beat before he even got near Esson. The 1st goal from Well looked like a foul as well, way i saw Hutchinson was climbing all over his man to win that header. Butcher said he plans to appeal the red and im glad. It will take alot to pick the team up after this i think, they literally gave their all and again have walked away with nothing, i dont think there will be a need to ring changes, i thought Butcher got them right today though i would like to see Cox and Hayes start next week, theres no doubt their presence has brought a welcome lift to the team. I say things cant get much worse...bracing myself for something to happen next week.
  23. You feel we're not missing a solid, reliable and committed centre half? GM not good enough for the SPL, but how many seasons has he played there? Shame Proctors tackle was in the box - PMSL thats a bit like shooting someone in the head with a gun and then in court claiming I never did anything wrong it's just a shame his head was in the way! . Foran played a poor game (not for the first time this season) although to be fair he set up the goal. But he's not the only one under performing, not by a long shot and that includes the management teams as they have brought these players in. I felt Foran was only clapping at the end and thanking the fans for sticking with the team, at least that's what I saw. People would be moaning if he just walked straight off saying that 'he isn't showing the loyals fans any gratitude' so he's damned either way. Never mind all will be well when- We start to gell, get injured players back, find the system that works for us, play a passing game etc etc. Not to mention the stability brought from giving TB & MM the contract extensions so early, that will hopefully kick in soon too. Ok IMO he was anything but solid or reliable, ill give you committed because the boy really did try. But no matter how many seasons he played in the SPL doesn't mean he was good enough for it! Far to slow and gave possession away every time with his 'hoof ball' tactics stop backing up a highly over rated and below average defender! He is gone to a a lower division which suits him best. and with the proctor situation i meant he should have made the tackle outside the box when he had the chance 'SHAME IT WAS INSIDE'. 'never mind all will be well' excuse me for being negative but i am really worried for us right now. we were outplayed by Dunfermline at home, i fear the worst for next week as Motherwell can actually play a little bit of football! Oh dear, did Grant steal your sweeties or something? Seriously though is GM Puyol? Is he Maicon? No. Did he ping inch perfect passes out of defence every time? No, but he played to his strengths and was a solid reliable player to suggest otherwise is nonsense, also the reason I believe he chose RC was family. Regardless you clearly think he was a terrible player for ICT, I don't and I think 99% of folk would agree with me and that's the last I'll say as I don't wanna labour the point. Your point on Procs tackle never made sense to me the first time and it still doesn't, from what I saw he wouldn't have made such a tackle at all had his positioning been better. Though he was maybe left a little exposed. My last paragraph regarding 'all will be well when...' was some what tongue in cheek and I would have thought most folk reading it would have taken it in that manner, perhaps it was too subtle for you. Out of curiosity who do you think are our strongest centre halfs this season, bearing in mind we are the only SPL team who have not had a shut-out so far (I think)? Edit: Spelling. Josh Meekings came on for 5 minutes and was already better than Grant Munro's whole career Nearly wet myself with laughter when i read this

    David Davis

Davis has been arguably one of our best players in recent matches, anyone else think it might be worth our while trying to extend his loan spell here? I certainly think so.
  25. Esson Meekings, Tokely, Proctor, G. Shinnie Cox, Davis Ross, Tansey, Foran Tade Subs: Tuffey, Gillet, Golobart, Chippendale, A. Shinnie, Sutherland, McKay
