Another one!!!!!!!!!! It is incredible!!!! What planet do these people live on?
-
No doubt about it DBS we are blessed with the presence of posting seen only on the OF message boards (Strachanesque?). Huge win, enormous result and some can't wait to get home to start knocking seven bells of $hite out of someone!! Now can we quickly start a thread about what happens to the car park money and is it true that it funds the holiday of our groundsman, pays for our DOF's golf membership and contributes to TB's Cafe One bill! Before we know it we'll have over 100 posts!! Forget success let's revert to type!

"Keep out of the black and in the red, there's nothing in this game for two in a bed"

Once I was keen on starting the Movement For Something. Nothing in particular just organising the principle that it is ok to be supportive of something. Nowadays we are surrounded by so and so against this, so and so against that, Cod Against Fishing, Deer Against Stalking ..... it goes on. On top of this the oxygen given to the "against" body is always much greater that that given to the "for" body. Good news is no news. Two representations against is being inundated, two for is irrelevant. This subject is typical of this culture. Check out the topic attacking the club, major shareholder etc. 120 odd posts over five pages with many nothing but desperate attempts to undermine and oozing with hope that "they've all been up to something". What feeds them? What motivates them? Who knows, they never have to explain themselves, just sit and hope, pray, that the conspiracy theory is true and soon we will all be able to hang and flog them close to the stadium the bestards tried to steal from us and make a fortune! Where are they now? The statement is issued, too late for my liking (but I am always inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt and, like all good aspects of Scottish justice, believe in innocence until guilt has been proven) but issued nonetheless. The 120 posts becomes 18 posts. The acknowledgment of mistaken judgment limited to those who only expressed concern for the right reasons (very few you note) not joined a witch hunt. It will always be right that enthusiastic individuals like CD should question and be answered. We would all be poorer without that right and I applaud Don for doing so. What is sad however, is that the desperadoes aka lynch mob can disappear with their insinuations published without substance, damage set out done and nothing else required. Shame really. Perhaps we should expect a certain level of accountability from posters not just the club?

Like Tories you mean?

That is why I pointed out that at the same age, Barry had played three times as much first team football as Johnny. To rate Johnny now as highly as Barry, anytime in his ICT career, is surely a bit OTT?
-
BR had far mor experience under his belt at this stage of his career. He had played over 120 league games with JH having played less than 40. Also, for me, they are very different players with BR having a much more physical edge to his game and much more drive. Johnny has a long way to go but shows considerable potential. That said, highly unlikely IMO we will see him competing in the Champions League. Been wrong before :( !

One of the biggest doubters who viewed their appointment as nothing short of a disaster. Appalling track records in the game (aside TB's spell at M'well) with the fans of the clubs been to previously having nothing nice to say about them. Made some bizarre decisions (still maintain that dropping Ryan for the last five game at the end of the season was the final nail in the SPL coffin!) and playing some of the most boring footie I've seen. But ....... now at the business end of the season, when it really counts, on a fantastic run supported by a "Devon Loch" like collapse by Dundee and here we are. Absolutely incredible! Clean sheets galore, two quality strikers and a midfield that look like they can pass a ball. Immediate step back will be a huge achievement. I stand corrected and was wrong.

I would like a job with The Sun writing the "Dear Deirdre" letters... that's if I can't get employment as one of these people who seem to spend their entire lives hanging about their bedrooms in their underwear in "Deirdre"s Photo Casebook". :D I think The Sun is an extremely cleverly written newspaper which has got a very strong handle indeed on the profile of its readership. :D I think your having a laugh on both counts

Understand the Clach have a new owner, have got rid of their current manager and appointed an extremely experienced "team" to lead their ambitious plans for SFL football in two years!!

I was told this morning that County now have to play Saturday, Monday, Thursday and Saturday in the finall week of the season!!!! Wheels off me thinks?
-
I'm with CD on this one. the two are not mutually exclusive and can, when properly managed, deliver the best results for all. Granted at times it can cause difficulty but when it's good it's fab. The prime example, the biggest community club of all, FC Barcelona. A multi million euro business still subject to democratic checks and balances from it's members i.e. the fans. A model for all huge clubs that makes the Glazier/Gillette/Hicks fiasco exactly what they are, a recipe for disaster.

JB what's up? Used to agree with you nearly all the time but now your sounded like a very unhappy chappie with alarming regularity. Accept the fact that Gaelic is part of our culture, a big part for many, and be happy that at long last something is being done to promote the language for those who care. Oh and stop being so crabbit :004:

Thats a shame, County have to play 2 games a week for 6 weeks. Do you honestly think they can put everything into every game from now till the end of the season. After 3 weeks in they still have to play, tue-Morton a, sat- Airdrie a, tue- Qos a, sat- Partick h,tue- Ayr a, sat-Raith a. Thats a lot of travelling. Could be said that they, more than most, should be able to cope !

So.... If I understand this correctly : A potential football viewing audience of around 200,000 will have their enjoyment of this TV spectacle seriously curtailed just so as your kids' homework might become a little less tedious. That's one way of putting it! I would prefer to say it helps their language development and, like the kids TV broadcast on Alba, shows them that their Gaelic isn't solely confined to the classroom. We think it's great!

Bit neg JB. Glad the game is on and available to those who ant to watch it. To be honest, I quite often watch with the commentary off anyway as it can be nauseating at times! For the record, there are two wee Gaelic speaking boys in my house who are dead keen to watch it but just wish it was our game. Surely the two Gaelic speaking boys in your house would enjoy watching the match just as much with a commentary in English? They would JB but it wouldn't help their homework!

This is an interesting one. Delighted that at least there is some certainty, continuity, stability etc all things that are sadly lacking in Scottish football. Concerned that we face another season of "schoolboy" defending under the guidance of two hugely experienced international defenders of significant standing. On balance, it is to their credit that they are willing to commit to another year. They have exceeded my expectations and deserve another shot. That said, I don't sense that there were many options.

As in many instances in the past, the authorities are too late in acting. Why wait until your product is crumbling and your market value diminishing rapidly before taking action? it's a bit like the old finger in the dam approach or asking your punters what they think about the catering after you've made the changes. The custodians of our game, and there are many of them, are singularly responsible for the demise of our sport. Their failure to act collectively to address what has been staring all of us punters in the face for years is appalling. Now, with Henry McLeish's "master plan" ready for publication, a wee leak suggests what may be they way forward. No surprises coming then Henry! We are now the equivalent of Luxembourg domestically. Remove the ridiculous support enjoyed by the OF and we are pitching in at this level. Our facilities are poor, our youth policies tokenistic, wage bills ridiculous and balance sheets frightening. At least clubs such as Jeunesse d'Esch operate within their means and recognise their place. We haven't reached that stage. Perhaps a change to a 16/18 team league will be more exciting but one thing is for sure, it will not lead to a better product or change our standing. Still, we live in hope!

Issue - Is this not a case of closing the barn door after the horse has bolted? Idea - Ask your customers what changes they would wish prior to making change?

Thought it might prove a more factual source of info than your mother. Think you getting a bit mixed up now! Sorry mate, I meant Sorted's mother not yours. I hereby apologise to Joe DiMaggio's mother My mother thinks your an English to$$er

Just proved your point for you Renegade. Politics.........Football, great mix. Your post shows that it is hatred and not just banter. Oh by the way, I'll have to give you the last part about JT. :P PS: I think you need to read your history books. My mother hails from Buenos Aires

I don't want our lovely neighbours to get beaten in SA. I sit and night and pray (as a complete non believer!) that they are subjected to total humiliation and ridicule. That and that Las Malvinas are ultimately returned to their rightful owners prior to being desecrated and pillaged by the original perpetrators of modern day colonialism :P ! Oh and that John Terry has contracted a painful STD that involves even more painful treatment.
-
I agree and think the same methodology should be applied to Marius. He deserves nothing but riducle for his failure to help us make the latter stages of the Europa League!

The situation I am referring to is where a new party, from those who are, allegedly, being excluded at present, secure a significant enough shareholding to assume control of the club thus becoming the party in control of negotiations with the property owner. No conflict there as I see. At no point have I sought to establish whether there are parties willing to invest i.e. purchase shares as a minority holder, but am keen to establish what obstacles there may/may stopping our plethora of benefactors that are so keen to oust the present regime coming forward. As far as I see it, there are none other than a recognition that our present majority shareholder is not sitting on a pot of gold and a further recognition that all any future purchaser would be acquiring is grief and liability.
