Idea For Half Time Entertainment
The best HT entertainment is to watch guys struggle with 3 roasting steak pies, 2 cups of tea in those ridiculous plastic cups and 1 large coke in a paper tumbler. Take bets on who manages to get to their seat without smashing a pie, scalding their hands and screaming or turning the coke upside down over their feet! Beats the sh!t out of the FlyBe challenge!

Do We Actually Have The Bottle ?
Fair comment re Saturday's support and the lack of response to it. For me, it's bigger than just the one game though. It's incredible to contrast the Stoke City fans response to their team, win or lose, with the culture which now surrounds much of our club. It would be great if we could just have a spell of unconditional support and loyalty, then we could really judge if it has an impact. Off topic I know, but what about Hoffenheim (sp?)! Unbelieveable that a town/district so small can have such a support in the Bundesliga. Granted they have more resources than we do and have had, in comparable terms, more success, but there are similarities. Is it all down to German wealth and transport infrastructure or are they more passionate about their sport? Surely they must suffer in the same way we suffer from the OF/Dons problem, but their crowds are amazing.

Butcher Criticism
This always amuses me when club's change managers. Every good result/performance is always down to the new regime's "immediate impact" but when the wheels come off it's purely due to legacy of the old regime and their "incompetence". That's why stepping into this job must have been a dream scenario for TB/MM. Stay up and they are heroes for the rescue, relegated and it's all someone else's fault. Wish my job was like that! The 64 million dollar question is when does it stop being the old regimes fault? When we're safe from the threat of relegation, and TB/MM can look at running the team their own way instead of playing to dig themselves out of a mess someone else left them in. I'd say the start of next season. Think both u and TMFTJ are right, it is only fair to judge from the start of next season. TB/MM will be given the chance to work with Morais, Gathuessi (if ever fit) and Pavels who were brought in by the previous regime and Kerr, Foran and Eric who they brought in. We should have enough to do the job. Equally, the time has come to stop blaming the old regime.

Get a life and stop this pathetic hate campaign. Every week you come on and start b1tching about Lionel, blah blah blah, no matter what. He's been one of our best players in our recent good run, he doesn't deserve to be singled out for a poor team performance against Falkirk, and he isn't going to be dropped no matter how much sh1te you post about him. Get over it. Of course, we would never see you getting involved in a witch hunt where an individual would be singled out, attacked and constantly ridiculed would we! ;-)

Butcher Criticism
Judging by the comments in today's P&J it appears that the tone is much less venemous than that suffered by the previous regime, even allowing for what has been described by some as the worst performance ever by an ICT team in the SPL. On that basis, I would say the guys are safe for at least a fornight!! Be patient AF!!

Do We Actually Have The Bottle ?
Thankfully, as demonstrated in the past, the reaction here does not always reflect the views of our "support". Bad day on Saturday and "supporters" will hope the guys turn it round. Others may enjoy bathing in their cesspit of abuse they seem to enjoy so much. I've paid my money I can abuse who I want! Me, still think the job can be done and am willing to write off the blip as just that. Support the team in the way they deserve to be supported. Our status is an amazing acheivement and deserves celebration not ridicule. If only we could be more Stoke City and less OF!

Why did TB sacrifice Pavels when the obvious choices were Granty or Lionel?

Away Support Today
The words support and supporters are well abused. There are many who attend our games, and they become more in number each season, to shout abuse at members of the team they apparently "support". Now that they've help get rid off their number one target they have to move on to someone else to "support". Next time I see it I'm going to excercise my right to freedom of speech and tell the tw*ts what I think of them. This type of "supporter" with their "banners of encouragement" and "friendly" chants has been getting away with it for far too long. Time for others to say their piece.

Team For St. Mirren
Team should not even be considered until TB/MM see how the guys respond to yesterday's shambles. Probably the most important training sessions of the season coming up and the guys have to prove they are up for it before being considered for a jersey

Grant Munro
Don't disagree with Granty being rested but still believe that this season at this time is a step too far for Duff. Different if he was coming into a confident team playing well but not now. Still want to see Hastings play LCB with Pavels as I believe it's the only serious option we have. Have to laugh at yet another Brew jibe, to the best of my knowledge the only thing he hasn't been blamed for on this site is the market crash but if I wait long enough ...... Duff is not a victim of his favouritism, he was given many games by Brew and didn't seem quite there. Funny how when a player was left out by the previous regime it was cliques or favouritism or some other crap. Under the new regime when someones not playing it's tactical genius or specific choices for specific games. Bizarre!!

It's Looking Bleak In Ayrshire
Would love Kilmarnock to go down for a number of reasons. 1. Been making ridiculous financial decisions for years including player wages they can't afford, leaving there ground half empty rather than take the money from OF Fans and building hotels that no one wants to stay in. 2. Can't stand JJ! He is the worst loser in Scottish football even worse than GS. No matter how many times we beat them, and we do, have we ever merited victory in JJ's eyes? Also has ridiculous ideas above his station waxing on about how he should be considered for the Scotland job etc. 3. Most of their punters really support Rangers and only go to Rugby Park as they can't get a ticket for Ibrox. They sing the same songs and if my memory is right, even gave Rangers a standing ovation when they won the league one year at Killie! Just thinking of the downside though ........ a safe nine points every season? Maybe they should stay up! Wouldn't wish a Gretna on them but would enjoy watching them suffer for a while.

Russel Duncan (merged)
Anyone who defends Russell must have a short memory. We rightly ridiculed Neil Lennon for his shameful acting which got Juanjo sent of at Pittodrie a few years back. Made even worse by our wee Spanish friend having started the gam on fire and also having flown his parents over especially for the game. Lennon deserved everything he got and so does Duncan. No place for this pish in our team. Diving or feigning to get a pen is one think, this rubbish is another level and for what it's worth should be the subject of a ten match ban if it can be proven. Grow up Russell!

Ict -v- Falkirk : Cup Day Thread
With a little luck, he'll be banned until the end of the season ;-)

Djebi-zadi
Ok here I go....... I agree totally with IHE, for once (okay maybe twice!) he is entirely right. Lionel is the exact same guy who was being totally ridiculed on this site not so many weeks ago. Yep, the guy our previous manager was lambasted for signing and nearly hung for playing in the SC against Partick. Still the exact same error prone disaster zone that eas playing for a German pub team before Brew signed him! Rememeber Brew, the gut most of you slag constantly for not having a clue. So what's changed? TB has turned Lionel into a hybrid of Paolo Maldini and Franz Beckenbar (sp?) in the space of a month? Nonsense, great job that TB is doing, the fact remains he ain't no Jose Mouriniho, Alex Ferguson, Guus Hiddink or Alex Ferguson, he's a guy who had did a fantastic job with Motherwell all those years ago and has done nothing since!! MM is in much the same boat, So there is no chance that the duo have turned Lionel into some superstar hero!! Time to get real. We all know that everyone makes mistakes and that is a pretty poor response. Bottom line is some guys are more prone than others and Lionel is right at the top of the tree. That's why we were his only option, that's why he left County, that's why he can't play in the Bundespubliga, that's why we need him out of the picture as fast as possible!! IHE you are 100% spot on.

Chick Young Blog
He does have many faults, the most annoying of which is his obvious admiration for one of the Ugly Sisters! That said, when you compare him to some of the pompus baffoons you get on Five Live he's a superstar. If you take at as read that most of the "information" he provides is pish, all of his "exclusives" are tosh, he can't write and reading is a struggle, then laugh, he's all right!

Brewster Signs For Ross County
Your probably right and I know I am. Doesn't send a good signal to punters if you sign someone as old as he will be at the start of a new season. Mind you, looking at the standard of some SPL strikers ...........

Brewster Signs For Ross County
Fantastic post!! It never ceases to amaze me the depth of football knowledge and understanding displayed on this messageboard. From what I understand at least 3 SPL clubs wanted to sign him but he couldn't due to a restriction in his departure. Kingsmill's point is far fairer and one many of us wonder. He without doubt, could have made a significant difference on the park, but can't see it having the potential to make any difference on the management side. Time to let the guy have some peace me thinks. I wish him all the best for the future as without doubt, he was one of the best to play for the club and whilst it was his time to go, think some of the ***** he has been subjected to on here is ridiculous.

Ian Harte Signs For St Mirren
Or as a last minute panic, Strachan has managed to get an even worse player to cover for Lee Naylor! Glad he's not going to Midden, even just for his set piece ability.

All-time Highlanders XI
Don Gilllies. Think he must have played around 200 games for Bristol City in the seventies. Hard wee man who Parkie will know well as a fellow Lochaber man.

David Sutherland v David Sutherland
Would be interested to see your definition of dignity Stevico. The education system in the Highlands has, perhaps, given me an entirely different perspective of the word's meaning. For example, what is difgnified in pubically leading a lynchmob calling for a man to lose his job? Callous yes, dignified no. Also the claim to "represent the views of the supporters" are somewhat misleading. I and the rest of my family would have happily aired our views at a constructive meeting but what's the point consulting when you've already made you're position very clear. Public bodies are ridiculed for this on a daily baisis, the trust deserve the same treatment. In addition, despite being in the glare of national and local media for over a week, publically ridiculing our management team constantly, the best the lynchmob could garner was less than 60 people, a significant number of whom were there in support of the manager. Quickly the thread of attack changes to the usual pies, tickects, merchandise etc. If you even assume that only 1000 home fans attend each week, that of the 60 that attended the meeting 60% supported the trust, 0.036% is hardly representative. Political organisations are castigated for such claims. Significantly, in my family circle, there is 100% support for CB in our 6 season tickets. This would also be the case for JR, CC or whoever. It is particularly sad that the rumblings of 12 people supported by a small number of pre pubescent teenagers are view as the fans opinion. Here's to CB and co getting back track and securing our SPL status once again as he has on the two previous occassions when picking up other peoples difficult situations. Sad that the first time he has a problem, "our support" turn on him. Me, I off to start causing problems for driving instructors that **** me off!

Interesting how for some users every topic seems to end on an attack on CB. At the same time any user who tries to support or defend him, or has the audacity to be quite delighted that our club (yes it's my club too!) is once again enjoying top flight football has to be CB! Statement of fact: I am not CB CD also told me that the problem was that our top flight football status was now under threat and this was the reason for the unhappiness. This could be true but the sad reality is that some on this board attack CB at all times and always will. In his firts spell and since he returned some on;y get pleasure ffrom failure. Why who knows? Maybe it's because all those who attack him are JR or BW or CC or anyone else who might like his job! That of course is ridiculous isn't it! Going back on topic, I didn't realise the board was as full of FIFA coaches, DOFs, CEs and Managers as it is. Also it has amazed me the number of posters who have spent time watching BW coach, understand his ethos in the game and state with such certainty what a fabulous addition he would make to our staff. I have no opinion either way as I have not devoted the time others have to watch him coach................ Truth is they know as little as I do but just like making a noise as it's another opportunity for a go at CB. Please correct me if I am wrong but I will not accept answers that include: "I know or a friend knows a player and he says BW is a great coach". Factual info based on evidence not hearsay please.

Fair point CD, forgot Dennis scored at weekend. Sure that many of our fans would be delighted if our CF had scored one goal by the middle of December. Mind you, it's different rules for some than others though isn't it? Happy. Absolutely! Kids can see top players they never had a chance to without spending hundreds of pounds going South. And they learn to support the local team at the same time. Maybe your kids are different but mine just want to see big names they've seen on the telly and guys they've heard off. Not really that interested in the quality of the football (good job at times!). So yeah, I'm happy! Another three points off the bottom on Saturday, I'll be even happier!
