From what I am lead to believe, Whyte has control and title of all the property assets. As long as the company continues to trade be it in a normal format if someone were daft enough to buy the club as it stands or in administration, these assets remain with the company. The minute this ceases to be the case i.e. liquidation, then they effectively become the property of Whyte to dispose of as he sees fit. As CD rightly pointed out, the only potential pitfall is to prove he as acted illegally in his role as a company director. This will be extremely challenging as, until February 14th no one was suggesting this was the case and since then, the club has been run by the administrators. And, despite all the hot air to the contrary, no suggestion of charges have been made by anyone in authority. Makes sense to me. The only man that doesn't seem to be concerned is Whyte!

As I understand it, the structure is such that Craig Whyte has effective ownership of the assets mentioned previously and they cannot be touched by HMRC or any other creditor.

I reckon we are in a very large silent (ok not always but .....) minority. Taste is alive and well in the Highlands. We just hide it well CD!

I would suggest that Craig Whyte's plan is entirely on schedule. He has no interest in football or Rangers (his former father in law has remarked on this in several media articles and been joined by others) and merely views this as another financial transaction. His plan now depends on liquidation and he will do everything in his power to ensure this happens whilst protesting the contrary. His administrators ( and remember he appointed them despite HMRC seeking others) have procrastinated and delayed long enough to ensure that liquidation is almost a formality. If anyone else can show me an example of a business, never mind a football club, that is saddled with the debt and potential liabilities that Rangers are, were the administrators haven't taken immediate steps to reduce costs I would be amazed. Liquidation affords Whyte, thanks to his secure and preferential creditor status, the perfect vehicle for asset strip and value realisation. How can Rangers 2012 (Sponsored by Kleenex0 Ltd function without Ibrox Stadium, the car park and, to a lesser extent, Murray Park? Whyte is bang on track to deliver exactly what he set out to do.......................asset strip and financial gain.

Wylde did not offer to stay for the season and play for free though. Now rumoured that he is on the verge of signing for Southampton. No transfer fee = huge signing on fee, not to mention championship wages. Smart not sacrifice. Also have little admiration for people earning in excess of £1 million a year offering to work for no pay for 8-10 weeks. Their tax rebate (how appropriate!) will cover much of their loss. And, the reason the game is in such a mess is due to their greed and owners stupidity. Whilst I'm at it, when will footballers work out that wage deferral is absolutely pointless in this situation? The club has no money now and will have no money in three months time!

I'm more of a cynic OCG. Wylde may wish to portray himself as a martyr but for me is is clear that he would not leave without having something to go to. In January he was the subject of a £400k bid from Bolton that was rejected (sounds ridiculous know doesn't it!) and would hazard a fair wager that there are still a number of clubs ready to snap him up now he has been released. If he had stayed, he would not be getting his wages and would still require a transfer fee to be released (until the inevitable happens). The Administrator would have no choice but to accept his request as others are refusing to go without a pay off (questionable if they would get one or not?) and may not have the options available to young Wylde. Suggest this is very good PR by Wylde and his team. And, once clearance is given by FIFA, expect him to sign for an English club on double his wages. He looks like a saint and doubles his money!

They are in no position to stop him leaving as they can't honour his contract. No doubt, as a free, he will already have a club lined up by his agent.

Your right Yngwie, last night wasn't one of his better games. Friends with a couple of Arabs who go to every game. They cannot believe what they have picked up for nothing and wind me up constantly about him not being at his 'local' club (geography, like the women, leaves a lot to be desired in Dundee ) . Point I am trying to make (badly!) is that surely we should be concerned that our coaching staff didn't think he was worth the risk, certainly when compared to other risks they have taken? Had also hoped that someone may be able to to correct me if I'm wrong in believing that he was prepared to play for a low wage and appearance money but was still rejected. Always like to see Highland boys at our club.

Have never supported a campaign for any manager to be beheaded. Think it's as degrading now as it was in the past. What I will say is that the only people who **** me off more than those who constantly talk things down are the 'happy clappies' who (like the Rangers fans who think that shouting 'We Are The People' will somehow save their club) refuse or are unable to consider that all is not well and that TB and Co are beyond criticism. TM4TJ has got it right for me. Probably repeating myself but...............TB is spending a significant wage on a keeper who won't play and wasn't needed. His choice. Why? TB chose to let Grant Munro go despite the fact that left sided centre backs with his experience (and on his wages) are impossible to find. He has also failed to replace him. Why? (we still haven't had an answer!) TB has Gary MacKay Steven at our club and didn't see a player. This is astounding. Instead he has spent our money on poorer players from the lower reaches of the English (non) leagues. Why? Just some of the points I think are legitimate questions to be asked. The don't have to be answered but will always be legitimate. And Gringo, OTJ will never be fit. Period. That's why he is up here.

Your story regarding Caldwell is typical of the attempts to justify mediocrity and a clear example of why players are the problem not the solution. Caldwell could quite easily have come out and said: 'Despite the fact that others in the club are being paid a ridiculous amount of money that is ludicrous, I am more than happy to continue my career on a mere £400k plus bonuses. Perhaps others within the game may chose to follow my example.' He didn't. He, like the rest of them, demanded obscene money and justified (as you are doing) by saying it is the same as everyone else. Until a player of intelligence and stature has the gumption to come out make a stance our game will continue in the same manner. Sad. Equally, as long as intelligent supporters like you seek excuses for players behaviour we are doomed. There was (and rightly so) a public clamour for bankers to be denied bonuses which led to Stephen Hester refusing in excess of a £1m. I see little difference in the behaviour of fat cat bankers and fat cat footballers. In the vast majority of cases they are delivering a sub standard product and lining their own pockets at the expense of the masses. Equally, in both cases, they have apologists. I am not one. What your post also highlights is how incorrect I was in stating that average players can earn in excess of £500 kpa. Caldwell earned in excess of £1 million if you are correct!

Players are the principle culprits. Greed has gone beyond belief and the money within the game now remains within control of a chosen few. When you here stories about how much the European Cup finalists of the 60s, 70s and 80s were earning in comparison to the average person it shows you clearly just how obscene our game has become nowadays. Run of the mill footballers who will achieve little in the game can easily earn in excess of £500 kpa. Could only stop when we stop going and, more importantly, stop buying TV packages and merchandising. That won't happen. Could only stop when the players say they are willing to, collectively, cap their earnings in return for investment in grass roots football. That won't happen. Will only stop when the elite have total domination, the others run on a hobby basis and it becomes the pastime of the chosen few. This is happening now. Jumpers for goalposts anyone?

I don't want to stand as age is creeping up on me. I also have bad memories of guys who refused to use toilets. Count me out.

Ah, it must be trial-by-internet-forum. Much more reliable. What have you missed? Have you missed the detailed reporting of the facts? Have you missed the admission by the club that they have used EBTs? Have you missed the statement by HMRC that they view this as illegal and will pursue all those who have operated in this manner to court? Oh..........I see where you're coming from. You are choosing the path that until a court of law finds Rangers guilty you think every thing in the garden in rosy and the consequences/repercussions of their guilt should not be discussed until the legal process is concluded. Assume this is for fear of compromising the integrity of the process? And for the record, Adolf Hitler (despite his failure to appear in court) was guilty. You okay with this or should we not be allowed to discuss or have an opinion due to his failure to have legal closure? Rangers are guilty. The degree of guilt is all that has to be established.
