  1. See that the appeal panel in England agreed with RIG and not me........ Standard has now been clearly set and await the plethora of red cards to follow or a procession of bleats about inconsistency.
  2. There was young lad name Manny, Who at times was a bit of a fanny, He gave Laurence a hard time, As his posts they did not rhyme, And........................................................ Missing line anyone? No offence intended TM4TJ
  3. I would be more than happy to see a fourth stand built or a new ground but ..... let's worry about this when we have our current facility bursting at the seams on a weekly basis eh? At the moment, we struggle to sell out matches with the OF. What is the economic case for building even more empty seats? Granted, a more sheltered environment and accessible location would help but don't see a move to Malaga on the horizon any time soon! As my Granda once said to me, you can only p*sh with co*k you've got!
  4. This is why we all love football. I disgree entirely with RIG and believe it was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen by a referee. What makes it worse (had Citaay on my coupon!) is that Foy couldn't see clearly. He's probably moved above Howard Webb on the list of Fergie's favourites and that's saying something. Give me technology any day!
  5. If I had Fernades money i wouldn't have given it to Warnock either. Hughes is far more esperienced at this level and will do a decent job............until his ego gets the better of him and he throws the toys out of the pram!
  6. Going to be pedantic. It's the Scottish Cup not Scots. Do me a favour Mahonio and change the title of the thread? As for the draw.........don't give a hoot. Happy to still be in the cup and will be even happier if we are after the replay at EEP.
  7. Don't be too hard on him CD. He's just not that bright.
  8. Can't understand the clamour to support the fans of 'the twins of evil' on here. I see the bill as a clear attempt to deal with vile sectarian chanting and abuse. Surely this has to be welcomed? I am perfectly capable of enjoying myself at a match without the need to resort to such abuse and get surprised at how many seem unable to do so. The day when you get evicted or arrested for singing good natured banter is not upon us. This is being promoted by fans of the OF to try to garner support and legitimise their own unacceptable behaviour. I find it quite ironic that they are now in a joint crusade (probably an offensive word to some but doubt I'll get arrested for using it!) to normalise such crass bile and appear to be winning friends from other supports who supposedly hate everything the stand for. Confusing? 100% behind the bill and anyone that is bold enough to try to address this hideous cancer.
  9. Understand he is banned from the boardroom.......
  10. As in any football league that has dominant forces (most throughout the world if we are honest) they are viewed with disdain by everyone else, Our game is not pleasant at the moment but the blame cannot be laid solely at the door of the OF as they have declined as rapidly as the rest. Gone are the days when even though you hated them there was definitely something exciting about have real top European players playing in our league. We don't have a single one now. In Vlad's case, he is mad. There can surely be no debate about that? Only a mad man would invest the kind of money he has in Hearts. Only a mad man would have sacked George Burley when he did. Only a mad man would protect a convicted sex offender and lay blame for the 'witch hunt' on the media. And, if anyone needs any further proof, only a seriously deluded individual (mad man is an understatement) could place a £50 million valuation on a club like Hearts?
  11. Best description I've seen in years.....
  12. His Dad was fair player in his day so you never know?
  13. Great job! Been working away for a while and not able to access. Most impressed. Thank you for all the effort you put in on our behalf guys. Much appreciated.
  14. Interesting one this. Remember the crusade to have the other one removed? They were a phenomenon compared with this shower. Careful what we wish for in future.....
  15. Don't think that either are particularly good. All I will say in conclusion is that Jimmy Calderwood remains an unemployed football manager and has been since May 2011. During this period he has had enjoyed numerous self promotion opportunities on tv, radio and print. During this period, between England, Scotland and the Netherlands (where he has publicly stated he is searching for work) there have been numerous appointments made. Jimmy Calderwood remains unemployed as it appears that more people in football agree with me than you !
  16. Accept the 'wise after the event' point about GMS. As for OTJ........what has happened was not predictable but to be expected. You didn't have to be Mystic Meg to see this situation coming. Don't accept there is any luck involved at all in this situation, good or bad. It was a certainty. Only our management team could not see this And this is why a full Welsh international player who was once transfered for over
  17. Once again you my friend you have a selective memory. It is easy to pick out pieces of JC's career and view as favourable. Incredible? Never! Ask Ross County or Kilmarnock what they thought of a manager who turned up at 10am and left at 11am daily? With the third highest wage bill in Scottish football as the Aberdeen boss surely he should have achieved more? His record with Dunfermline was great and he deserves credit for that. Or does Jimmy Nicholl? At long last he has been found out for what he is and chairmen have stopped giving him jobs on his name only. He will remain an unemployed manager for a long time (unless he takes the Peterhead job when McInally leave).
  18. Suggest you take a look at the wages that are required to fund a move for OTJ and one for GMS. GMS was a free, no accomodation required and the competition came from Airdrie. OTJ comes with a considerably greater burden that GMS would ever have. Risk and reward is what it's all about. The risks with OTJ were huge and the reward (to date) ............? The risk taked by Dundee Utd on GMS was much less and the reward (to date)......? As I understand it GMS was desperate to sign on at ICT. Perhaps some of our north based posters know more?
  19. Watching on Saturday and couldn't help wondering what if. He looks really decent. Not sure what happened when he was training with us. Anyone got any info? Would hate to think that it was just that we didn't think he was good enough.
  20. Agree with Chris. Though how worrying is it that such an incompetent man thinks we are certain to be safe?
  21. TSNY this is a myth. As I understand it, the club with the smallest budget in the SPL is Kilmarnock with us, St Johnstone, Dunfermline and St Mirren all around the same level. This comes from a financial controller of one of the other SPL clubs who I know through a family friend. Obviously I can't 100% verify this and neither can he but this was the picture given to me at the start of the season. I always worry that these kind of posts lead to the usual accusations of - 'the muppets not backing the manager' or 'need business to commit more' when the issue here is clearly the responsibility of the manager and the players the manager chose to employ and dispose of. Nothing else. As a clear example of this. two of the highest paid players at our club have contributed next to nothing this season and will continue in the same vein for the remainder of the season. Tuffey, as he was never required in the first place and is a ridiculous waste of our limited resource (whilst we hear all the time about Granty's performances at Dingwall surely I'm not the only one to notice the praise that Ike is receiving? An ideal back up keeper when free and for a fraction of the cost) and OTJ who will hardly play a game for us. Once again surely I can't be the only one that wonders why a guy who was earning over ?10k a week and a Welsh international ends up with us? It can only be that no one else was prepared to take the risk. Who is right? Credit goes to the management and team when the do well. Rightly so. When the opposite happens, so must the blame and responsibility.
  22. Best league in the world is quiet today eh?
  23. As once sang by the elegant Zammo McGuire (I think?)........Just Say No!
  24. Don't need a carrot PMF. We are, always have been and always will be capable of running our own affairs. Can't stop laughing at Danny Alexander slagging of our government for making a long term pledge. Aspirations......surely not! Wee Eck and co have comitted more to us in one minority government and a bit of real power than the rest of the clowns have given in decades. At least we can be sure of something............there is absolutely no danger of ever seeing Danny's lot be in a position to do anything for Scotland ever again (not that the did in the first place). As Paul Weller said: 'You've made your bed you'd better lie in it!' And no Scotty, not all politicians are the same. Neither are all doctors, nurses, IT workers, train drivers etc. It's just easy for the media to make us think that way. Now roll on the final revolt!
