It's not Chairmen that are the problem (foreign or otherwise), it's a system and legislation that allows then to run up huge debts and then just walk away without any personal liability.

Oddquine, these who aren't already will get their chance in due course....when the manager deems them ready. I would love for us to be producing a half dozen new players every season from the youth ranks, but it doesn't work like that.....not here, and not at many other clubs. In fact, I think we do pretty well to take a few through every season...and if even one or two of those "make it" then all the better. Also keep in mind that many of our most talented youngsters are poached from under our nose before they ever get to that stage and there's nothing we can do about it because we simply can't afford to match the money being offered by the "academies" down south. Do you think that Terry is just holding on to the young players that come through our own ranks for fits and giggles? If, as you seem to think, he has no interest in them...then why not just let them go? He had £300k (yes, three hundred thousand pounds) knocked off his player budget this season. So I very much doubt the he's bringing in any players on "much higher wages" than anyone else....old or young, local or otherwise.

Those who asked to make use of it, then abused the privileges that were extended to them in terms of flexibility on standing etc. i.e. Shot themselves in the foot.

Not sure if it's been mentioned earlier in the thread as I haven't read it all, but I understand that Esson felt a twinge in the same place as an old injury and they took him off as a precaution. Hope it's no more than that, but great to have a second keeper who we've got no hesitation in bringing on in these scenarios.

Got a good feeling for tomorrow.....reckon we'll rip C*unty a new one on our pitch. If GotACrotchItch and EgorTheMoo try to push up like they did on the sandpit then their going to leave themselves totally exposed....and I reckon that's what they'll try and do. Going to be bags of space for our wide players to get in behind them and it could very well be Dorans day to really shine. Bring it on.

This is something that has clearly not got enough exposure and I'm glad to see a second thread dedicated to the subject. Without it we'd have had nothing else to talk about this week!!!

The club give tickets to schools etc for all games, regardless of whether they are expected to sell out or not....so yes, it will be true that we are giving out free tickets.

Yeah, god forbid anyone might want to do something that's remotely fun or attention catching. Like it or not, and I don't particularly care one way or the other, it's done precisely what it was intended to do.....get people talking about the game. The average video views on a normal pre-match interview is 200-250 and this video is already over 1500 and climbing on YouTube, and another few hundred views on ePlayer where it has been the leading video on the SPL channel for a day and a half (and still is right now)....putting it on the front page of Pie & Bovril, SPL official website and many other Scottish sports/football news sites. So, in answer to your question....no, it probably didn't need the captions and all the rest of it, but their addition has vastly increased the exposure for this game and ICT in general the last few days, not only with video views being way beyond normal, but also with inflated levels of website visitors, facebook page visitors and twitter followers. If it's captured the attention of even a handful of people and sewn a seed which might lead to them attending a game at TCS, be it this weekend or in the future, then job done.

The 5 O-Clock Shadow is just there to mock the C*unty fans.

I broke a seat once by dunting down on it in frustration....does that make me a vandal? Yes, I paid to have it replaced....and if you're going to make fat jokes, please try something original!!!

The money due to HMRC is the least of their problems to be honest. It accounts for only about £134k of a total debt in the region of £8.5M. As most of that is owed to Directors etc, then they will be desperate to avoid liquidation as they'll lose the lot....if they haven't already. However, it's very difficult to see how they could trade their way out of trouble with that level of debt, so it would seem fairly inevitable.

We should have a whip round and get him one of those punch bag dummy things for the dugout.
-
I'd far rather have a passionate manager who is clearly frustrated and upset when things don't go well than one who sits in the dugout collecting a wage and barely gives a toss. If that means we/he picks up the odd bill for a broken bit of perspex or a door or whatever, then so be it.

If I, or anyone on this forum, was out there having to play the game then you'd get 100% agreement from me. But we're not, so I'll continue to look more towards the positives and potential for the season whilst blowing raspberries at the harbingers of doom and gloom. If that leaves me with egg on my face come the end of the season...meh, who cares, at least I can say I enjoyed it at the time.

Excellent....now we're working out all the ways we can fail....on a thread about how we should be looking upwards!!!
-
The decision to postpone was based on the predicted weather and protecting the pitch, as well as the potential for hazardous travel conditions. I got a look at the pitch on Sunday and (to my untrained eye) it looked pretty decent. I doubt there would have been any issue holding a game on it as it stood then.

I like the banter with the C*unty fans, but it is just that...banter. Ultimately I couldn't give a toss what they achieve this season (or any other season) and I'm certainly not letting it have any bearing on how I go about supporting ICT or enjoying what we are doing. For those who are concerned with our near neighbours, or want to hold their achievements in high regard......bear in mind that they are achieving thanks to Uncle Roys wallet, although the existence of side companies which hold in excess of £2.5 Million of debt suggest he's maybe not dipping as far into his pocket as some might have you believe!!! People seem to have short memories...a quick look at the rise and fall of teams like Livingston and Gretna should be warning enough that such things are not sustainable. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them - Ephesians 5:11

They don't have an official Facebook (or Twitter) page. Aye they do. Oh no they don't.
