  1. West Stand covers the terracing in that area and is concrete poured over the original steps. Not sure how suitable the new steps are in terms of dimensions for converting to safe standing. Centre section houses the media scaffold towers which would need to be moved backwards (they need to stay on the centre line) which would place them above the roof of the catering area...cost would be involved in doing that as you can't just sit them on the roof. Terracing towards the away end....we were already denied permission to use that by police for terracing when in Div 1 as segregation would have (in their opinion) caused problems. It also doesn't solve the issue of closing in the stadium, which seems to be the OPs main problem. Bottom line is that many of these things would be possible if we had the money....but we don't and I can't see us having it any time soon. Even if the clubs income was to increase by £500k a year, there's lots of other stuff that need money spending on them before a 4th stand/enclosure would reach the top of the priority list.
  2. They don't have to make a split second decision though. There's nothing to say they can't take a moment to let it run through the head and/or ask for input from their assistants....that's why they are mic'd up.
  3. I can't help but wonder if these thousands of people staying away from games because we don't have a fourth stand are the same thousands that don't go because of the merger. You know, the ones that lead such a reclusive life that they hang out in secret locations only known to them and only ever seem to talk to a handful of people in Inverness.
  4. What does "getting the balance" right have to do with refereeing? Surely their job is to apply the rules in a fair and consistent manner and has nothing to do with creating balance??? It is something, without doubt, that referees do...seek balance. We've all seen it, he makes a dubious call for a corner or a foul and then the moment the ball is kicked he blows for the slightest bit of contact between two players in the area just so he can give the ball back to them. It must be one of the very few places where two wrongs are considered to make a right and only serves to highlight that Refs are incapable of admitting when they make a wrong call in the first place and reversing the decision...instead of allowing play to continue and then trying to undo one error with another. Totally bizarre. On the subject of wrongfully issued red cards....Without bringing in technology (which I am against, but accept it may be inevitable and a necessary evil) then the only practical and workable solution I can think of is that the Referee is not allowed to make a straight red card decision on his own and must have the agreement of one other official (one of the assistants or fourth official) before issuing the card. If nothing else, this would force him to stop and take a moment to think about it before brandishing the card. As an aside, and on the subject of assistant refs. They need to start earning their keep as well. More and more over the last few years there seems to be this trend for them to wait to see what the ref does before giving their opinion/decision on something...or more accurately, mimic the refs decision.
  5. Unfortunately I won't make this one now either due to other commitments.....commitments that also mean I won't be able to watch the match live. Grrr!!!!
  6. If only we had a Sainsbury in Inverness!!!
  7. Why would/should the club invest in a Stadium they don't own?
  8. Ouch....that has to be the least entertaining game of football at TCS in a long time. I was going to suggest it was a pantomime, but you couldn't even pass it off as a comedy of errors. On a positive note....an equaliser in the final minute does suggest our luck might be changing!!!
  9. Ok folks, you are free to argue and discuss the good, bad and indifferent with regards to our stadium and how it compares to anyone else's....but let's not start with the name calling etc.

I agree with and support every word he says....ok, maybe not every word, but there's no denying that Scottish Football is in a mess, those running the game are making it worse and that the media are a bunch of shysters. The fact that everyone seems to bend over backwards to appease the OF, deliberately or not, is also something that cannot be denied. Whether it's them getting more than their share of "favourable" decisions on the pitch, avoiding punishment through unsporting means, failure on the part of the authorities to deal with the culture that drags so many to "the cause" or biased reporting by the media...it all creates and promotes an environment by which no team can hope to compete, even when they are willing to spend money trying to achieve it. Vlad's perhaps not the best person to hold up as a shining example of football philanthropy, but he's not the only person to have pulled his financial support from a club on the basis that they refuse to bankroll it in a biased and un-level operating environment. He makes it easy for people to mock him instead and ignore the points that are made among all the crazy crap...but he's perhaps not as "Mad" as his is sometimes labelled.
  12. The legislation only prevents organisations charging a credit/debit card "processing fee" which is more than they are charged. It does not stop the application of a handling/administration fee. So all companies will do is rename and alter the description of the fee.....i.e. pointless legislation. In terms of what the £1.25 pays for. It pays for the use of ticketmasters systems for the processing of ticket sales. I could be wrong, but I don't think ICT charge a postage fee and absorb that cost themselves. I certainly know that the last time I purchased online tickets (not for football), it was a £4.00 (per ticket) fee and then another £5+ for postage (per booking and not per ticket). If you want to avoid any queues then get to the game a bit sharper. We have the Sports Bar now, so at least you can get there early, get your tickets and then chill out in there for a bit.
  13. Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust Notice of Annual General Meeting on 19th January 2012 at 7pm in Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, Inverness Further details can be found at www.ictst.co.uk
  14. I got a response from the club today. Terry did review the incident but decided not to pursue the matter....no reasons as to why he chose that course of action was given (or sought).
  15. I did some reading on this last year in relation to something else and the stance they take seems to follow a similar argument to the one which makes hate speech (within certain parameters) a constitutional right in the states. As that is where these companies are based then some wacko would probably try suing them if they had anything in the T&C's that denied them that right.
  16. With a thread title like that you could give Uncle Bill a run for his money!!!! Only just got around to reading the article and I'm glad to see he is staying. I was worried that he'd blown his chances early on when a couple of needless errors had ended up costing us, but was glad to see him getting another chance which he has grabbed with both hands.

Marc hasn't been too well himself of late, had one stint in hospital over the festive period and is back at the hospital again today. I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery, as well as congratulating him on his fundraising efforts.
  18. I've lost count.....how much do I need to add to IHE's Warning %?
  19. I'm not sure I can tell you my reasons as I have no idea how responsibly you would use the answer or if you are only asking in order to stir trouble!!!! I contacted them because it is better to know what a situation is than to allow continued speculation and because the club have invited Scotty and Myself (as site admin) to approach them with any questions that arise if we feel the club might be able to provide an answer.
  20. Wow....the thanks you get for trying to be helpful. Marks, if you have an issue with my (or anyone elses) posts and believe them to be in breach of site rules or common decency then please use the report function and they will be reviewed. You are welcome to discuss the merits of the public being allowed/able to raise matters directly with the Compliance Officer, but the subject of how and why these forums are moderated should be referred via the report function or by contacting one of the moderation team directly using personal messenger. Any further posts on the later point will be removed from this and any other threads. I have e.mailed the club to ask the question, but the person who would be able to tell me is not in the office on a Wednesday. The point of my asking the club is to answer the question asked and shed some light on whether we can expect to see any more on the topic (or not). It would be remiss of me to refuse to seek or pass on information on the basis that I do not trust the recipient/s to use it in a sensible fashion. I can only imagine the reaction I would have got had I said "I should be able to get an answer, but I'm not going to because there's idiots on here who might misuse it"!!! FWIW, I agree with you (personally and not as a site admin) that if the club do not deem it necessary to have raised the matter then it is not for us, as fans, to interfere by contacting the Compliance Officer directly....but that is just my opinion and others are free to disagree with that and make decisions for themselves.
  21. The guidelines state that incidents can be brought to the attention of the Compliance Officer "by any means". So I'm guessing a letter/e.mail from a member of the public would meet that criteria. I'm trying to get information on whether or not the club have, or aware if, the matter has already been referred.
  22. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we've been watching the DVD of the game on the bus...don't think tv shows just had crappy conditions were at the game. Even though Terry and the lads were desperate for back to back wins, I think they can be satisfied that they got the job done today....even if we should have perhaps had the win. Was surprised to see how bad the tackle on Foran really was....it didn't look that fierce from where we were sat (just about on half way line). Also, the 'last man' challenge on the edge of the area is exactly what we have seen red cards for this season....but que sera, two wrongs wouldn't make a right. For anyone who thinks ICT fans can be fickle....Hibs take it to a whole new level. They moaned and boo'd every ref decision and spent most of the game telling their own players how bad they are. it really was something else. Role on Monday...actually looking forward to the next game for first time in a while!!!
  23. You will never see a better goal than Hayes got....definite contender for Goal of the Month. Still image does not do it justice.

  25. No, but lack of sleep, a thumping migraine (which I've only just woken up from) and a week of dealing with crap probably did contribute to my being a bit of a grumpy barsteward last night...apologies.
