EPOS = Electronic Point of Sale - Which basically means he could be talking about anything from electronic turnstyles to a new cash register. The club already have an EPOS ticketing system already and it should be able to handle ticket transfers. It also only needs a minor modification to make ticket sales available online but that's a different argument :001:

Was Grassa that was quoted as saying no offer had been made yet.
-
Can't find it online anywhere but it was on Radio Scotland and confirmed by Grassa that the lad is up here so we can check him over. No offer has been made yet.

Given the opportunity I would - I know, I know, I had the opportunity...yadda yadda yadda, but the opportunity wasn't properly publicised, and that is my counter argument to the point about the low attendance. "Sorry folks, I know you wanted to go to Culloden but I've just got a quick meeting I need to attend" - in light of recent developments I might just have got away with it :015: I do hear what your saying, but getting someone to ask a question on your behalf is one thing, getting them to press for a proper answer is another. Also getting someone to ask a question on behalf of Don Johnstone could seriously endanger their popularity :001: I have no argument about whether or not I was able to ask the questions I wanted. I couldn't attend so I accept that fact. But just because I, or anyone, never asked the question doesn't mean it wasn't something which should have been addressed. It certainly has nothing to do with the fact that the full purpose of the Chairmans attendance was not properly publicised. Also, someones inability to attend should not prevent them from being allowed to discuss it on here, again I make the point that if clubs (not just ICT) embraced technology and it's abilities more then it could be used to their advantage instead of just ignoring what they don't want to hear. The meeting is done with, we can't turn the clock back and ask other questions at it or tell people in advance that the subject is up for discussion with the chairman. I do however still expect the Trust and the Club to produce a proper communication for fans on both the events at the Dunfermline game and the general state of the stewarding and how it will be changed going forward - not just in conjunction with the singing section but at the stadium as a whole. It's fair enough to say home stewarding will change, but they will still have a job on their hands getting our fans to comply when away fans are left to run amok.

Forresdame, not arrogance at all, merely one suggestion for the control of ticket distribution for the larger games. I'm not suggesting it should be Season Ticket Holders only in this section, just that tickets would need to be purchased by a ST holder. There are many ST holders on here who would be happy to assist if you didn't know someone already. It's not ideal, but it would allow the club to utilise existing technology/practices as an answer to a potential issue.

LG, I'm simply trying to make the point that it was the Stewarding and treatment of fans that was the big issue and confirmed discussion of that prior to the meeting would have attracted more people. It is something that has impacted on more fans over the last couple of years than the singing section and it looks to be getting buried under the singing section initiative news. Mrs PB, your not the first to want me to shut up and I doubt you'll be the last :004: RiG/Others - If we can get a list of all current songs and words then we'll happily create song sheets for download on here. With Alan Savage being keen to see this work then perhaps getting one or two printed in the programme each week may not be out of the question (lyrics permitting...lol)

Lets be honest, the whole "giving people a voice" thing is a crock of chit - the club came to that meeting last night with no intention of providing any further information as to the events at the Dunfermline game and that is the one thing people wanted before they moved on with the whole singing section initiative. They also arrived at the meeting with the idea of the Temp Enclosures to facilitate the fans, but only on the basis that it could be done without costing them anything due to the way it will be used for the big games - "lets give them a singing section, that will shut them up and we can brush the other stuff under the carpet and make a few quid into the bargain" The voice of the majority of people at the meeting would have been useless anyway as if they disagreed they would be powerless to act against the clubs proposals. Then that should have been used as a selling point for the meeting. I asked when the meeting was announced what the Chairman was to be there for and the Trust could not tell me. It's all fair and well spouting about these things after the event, but as far as anyone was aware he was just coming along to talk about the new singing section. Like you've just done you mean? I predicted when the meeting was announced that unless people knew that they were going to receive information regarding investigations into events at the Dunfermline game then they would be unlikely to support any new initiative for fear of the same thing happening again. We were told that the Trust would present their findings at the meeting, did this happen and is their information which could be made public (a report)? I find it quite astonishing that your getting annoyed about the attendance at the meeting when people as good as told you they wouldn't be interested unless questions were going to be answered. We received no assurance that these issues would be addressed or even open to discussion. That isn't my reason for not attending, but I would bet my last £ on the fact that it was a consideration for others. It's all fare and well asking people to be more pro-active, but the Trust and the club have to learn to listen a little better. This meeting was never going to be well attended because nobody could tell us that we would be discussing what we wanted to discuss. People these days are lazier - it's a fact of life and one you have to factor for. Town hall meetings are a thing of the past for exactly that reason and websites, forums and chat rooms are where most people will vent their frustrations (or indeed sing praise). Just because they choose a different media doesn't make their points any less valid or meaningful and clubs, societies etc should ignore them at their peril. Many football clubs seem to spend their time distancing themselves from these new forms of communication instead of embracing them and, IMO, it is one of the major factors contributing to the wedge being driven between club and fans.

Oh I know, and I understand the frustration in getting people to attend and speak up where it really can count. You know I would never miss that opportunity if I was able :015: Seriously though, this is a great move on the part of the club and it can and will work provided they ensure they've crossed all the i's and dotted all the t's - I'm a great troublemaker shooter and if the club are wanting to use this site then I'll be more than happy to sit down with them and the Trust for a bit of a brain storming session to make sure everything has been looked at.

If this is the same meeting as I attended last year (or was it the year before???) then it is very informative and well worth the effort to attend in order to get an idea of what Supporters Direct and the member Trusts are/should be about. Before I attended I had the vision of the Supporters Trust as being nothing more than a glorified Supporters Club but that is far from the case and although a Trust can incorporate all the functions of a Supports Club it's actual remit spreads far beyond that. Their were some great ideas shared as well as information on the stumbling points faced by some of the Trusts which should be useful to others to help them avoid the same issues. Supporters Direct also produce a regular publication which is worth a read by anyone if you can get your hands on a copy - perhaps someone at the Trust could lay their hands on some for those who want them? BTW, the buffet was pretty good as well :001:

A step in the right direction and I hope it works. I am concerned that the club are shelling out for this new seating when they already have the uncovered wings in the main stand which could be utilised at no extra cost to get the scheme up and running. In times of financial prudence spending without need seems a little silly. I realise that the increased capacity will bring extra revenue for the larger games, but we all know that hundreds of tickets for these games end up in the hands of the opposition support. Put even 50 to 100 opposition fans among our most lively and vocal fans and it is a recipe for disaster. For that reason I would like to see control of the tickets for the new seats very strictly controlled. They should be made available to existing season ticket holders only so if trouble does arise they can be traced or make sure names and addresses are taken for all tickets sold in that area for these matches. I am also a little confused as to how the club can make this work without having a ticket transfer scheme in place. It is a requirement that all SPL clubs issue tickets for a numbered seat, and although not strictly enforced anywhere I know off, people should be sitting in the seat for which they hold a ticket. It's one thing to turn a blind eye, it's another to promote a scheme which breaches the rules. It's small things like that which can throw a spanner in the works of even the simplest of ideas and I hope the club have gone through it all with a fine tooth comb to make sure it doesn't become unstuck before it has a chance to get off the ground.

In one of my previous jobs we had a client with the surname Stawartz, I sent the entire office into a fit of laughter that lasted an entire afternoon one day by seeing him out with the line "May the Force be with you"

All the info is available on this site HC, all you have to do is trawl through all the the Match Rports to find out who assisted who for what goals....that is your mission should you choose to accept it. If you do decide to do it then we'll save the info somewhere on the site so it can be accessed in future, and depending how keen you are you could go back through all the previous seasons aswell. I think we have match reports for just about every ICT game ever played in one form or other.

I think Rory has maybe been under-performing as opposed to under-rated, I get the feeling he may be a bit Wyness-esque in the old confidence department and all it will take is a couple of top performances to see him on his way to shutting up his doubters. If you'd asked me this question during the first part of last season I would have said Hastings but with him performing consistently all season he did start to get the credit he deserved. McBain seems to go on and off more often than the bulb in a fat mans fridge IMO and still has large spells of anonymity during matches. Fraser has been praised on these forums a good bit for stepping up and filling Browns boots with confidence and ability - I think this season will be the making of him and if he carries on where he left off from last season then I think we'll see a far more rounded keeper than Brown ever was. I don't think we've seen enough of Sutherland yet to rate him either way - he shows promise and much of what he is lacking will come with experience. I think Duncan has to be the most underrated player we have at ICT. I believe it's down to the fact that his whole game is about keeping it simple - he doesn't try and complicate things for himself or his team mates. If we need someone to put a foot on the ball, that's what he does, if we need the ball spread wide then that's what we get - his tackling is solid but fair and he never seems to get involved in bust ups with officials or opposition players even when he is on the receiving end of a bad tackle or if he's collecting a yellow - he just gets on with it. For all the above reasons he never stands out (for good or bad reasons) and I think that is largely why his efforts go unnoticed.

Not sure if the club still employ the services of a PR company but I know they once paid a company £3000 for a years services during which time they were only involved in a handful (if that) of press releases. (I should check the figure as it is from memory but can't be ersed so we'll go with allegedly, it certainly wasn't less)

Granted, Inverness is fortunate enough to have fewer/smaller depressed areas than Glasgow and even the few we do have are undergoing price hikes due to rumoured developments. But you also have areas within Glasgow and Edinburgh which are far more "Elite" and drag prices up again at the other end of the scale - it's swings and roundabouts.
-
From a document I have sitting here - House prices in Inverness in the last 5 years have gone up more than any other town/city in Scotland. Inverness - 132% Dundee - 122% Edinburgh - 89% Glasgow - 89% In real money terms the average prices are (as at January 2007) Edinburgh - £217,049 Inverness - £154,235 Glasgow - £148,848 Dundee - £136,566
-
Inverness House prices are now reported to be higher (on average) than Glasgow - You won't get much in Inverness for £150,000 these days.

I am of the opinion that unless you are securing the services of a World Class manager then you should never have them on any more than a 1 year rolling contract. Any more than that and all your looking at is having to pay higher compensation should you need to get rid. CC is doing a fine job and I am in no hurry to see him shunted out the door, but he is also not World Class (Yet :004:) so I'm happy enough that he has decided to delay his decision. In all honesty it kinda smacks of a move by the boardroom to generate a "Positive" among so much negative talk with regard the (lack) of player signings and I would read very little in to either the offer or the refusal to look at it by CC.
