  1. As the events were likely to have a crossover in terms of the people attending we afforded the Supporters Club the Courtesy of checking with them first as we did not wish to compete with their plans or detract in any way from people attending the EOS Party - Selfish of us to have done that? I also don't think it is Selfish in the slightest to have expected they show us the same consideration, or at least made us aware that due to restrictions in regard to Stadium and Player availability for the event they had no option but to opt for a date at the end of July. If we had known we would have put our plans on ice quite happily. The Supporters Club is simply a title for a group of fans working to arrange things for the fans. Just because the other fans who were arranging another event have no title, it does not mean they should be simply ignored.
  2. I understand that Maimie - but had you come back and said that due to arrangement issues you were looking at end of July then it would have saved me, and others, wasted work. We have written to Police, written to and visited the Council to get permission etc. I have called in favours from people to make things available to me which they will have refused other bookings on, and now I will look a right plum when I turn round and say "sorry you my have lost bookings there I no longer need it" You knew we were looking at end of July, the very least you could have done was checked after we had afforded you the courtesy of checking with you in the first instance. Instead you respond with a "F*ck you Jack we're ok". Not even so much as an apology!!!! And people wonder I get so worked up over stuff.
  3. Maimie - thanks for that - you may recall I had the courtesy to send you a message making you aware that a few site users were arranging an event for the end of July and to check that it did not clash or come close to anything which the Supporters Club were organising (we even made the offer of allowing the Supporters Club/Trust the option to run a raffle or something to raise funds from it). I fully understand the issues with arranging venues etc etc. Unfortunately all the work that has gone in to arranging our event will now have been wasted as we were not afforded the same courtesey we afforded you.
  4. The Berriedale tought me one of lifes great lessons - it's easier to drive uphill with (a trailer on) in snow than it is to get down the other side.
  5. I was leaving Elgin the other night in a friends 4x4 and I got caught behind this complete t0sser crawling along like he had feck all better to do. I fair sorted him out though - sat right up his erse so he could see my number plate and would know me again if he saw me. Gave him the w@nker sign as I overtook him - he looked so nervous it must have been a new driver.

  7. Very good point Alex - however, we have got to a stage where we have been messing with nature for so long that we cannot afford to risk "letting nature take it's course". Regardless of what we know and what we are still to learn - one thing is certain - Whatever the planet/nature is doing it is doing it to correct something as it continues it's constant search for the "perfect state". For all we know that "perfect state" may have no place for us and our technology, but being what we (humans) are, we are seeking our own "perfect state" and that is causing a battle between us and the planet we currently inhabit. The most ironic thing is, their is a good chance this is a lose/lose situation for us. In the effort to create our own "perfect state" we may well end up killing the planet which would then be unable to support us. And if we do nothing, the planet will constantly change and very likely reach a state (or go through a phase) where it is unable to support us. Unlike most other living things on this planet who adapt to suit the environment in which they find themselves, we as a species are trying to adapt and control the environment to support us. It is this one fact which is most likely to herald to our ultimate and early demise as nature is all about survival of the fittest and, IMO, we have stopped evolving as a species and instead rely upon the evolution of technology, a technology driven by the energy from and received by the planet on which we live and which we are, in all probability, killing.
  8. Someone told me the t-shirt place in the market was closed??? I haven't been past there recently so I have no idea, maybe someone knows for certain? I know the club have (or had) a machine for putting the numbers on - think it was another of Tommy's many jobs.
  9. Now that is an offer which is hard to refuse!!!!
  10. Doing both the training camp and the Intertoto was not down to any clash of dates - it was financial reasons and pre-season preperation. CC has been working with a tops sports scientist to put a structured pre-season training plan into place. I believe they had plans in place for oneor the other and messing too much with that by trying to fit both in may do more harm than good.
  11. I had a bit of a Eureka moment earlier today. We witnessed what has been one of the very few nice days so far this year - and it was with much delight that I saw groups of kids out away from their computers after school and in the field kicking a ball around - just like when I was a lad.....lol. I was also reading an article about Global Warming, and why we are experiencing so much crap weather when the world is suppose to be getting hotter. The article explained that some places (including Scotland) have been witnessing worse weather - i won't bore you with the scientific reasons given - whilst other places, notably those closer to the equator are experiencing better/hotter weather. We all know that in order to improve the Scottish Game of Football we need to be encouraging the youngsters to be out more often kicking a ball, but as most kids are wrapped up in cotton wool and are Soft Wee Jessie's these days they won't go out unless it's sunny. Therefore the decline in the weather has resulted in the decline in the number of kids out kicking a ball around and this over the years has fed up through the system eating away at the overall level of the game. Is it any wonder we struggle to qualify for the World Cup when the planet we live on and it's entire population is conspiring against us? I think we should therefore petition UEFA to make an allowance for Global Warming when it comes to International Competitions and World Rankings.
  12. No worries - and I don't disagree with what your saying.
  13. No - calling them all convicts was being stereotypical. :015:
  14. Don't shoot the messenger - if you want answers to your questions you can contact the club via the contacts page on the official site or call them on 01463 222880.
  15. Bunch of bloody convicts - if they don't win the cup they'll probably just steal it anyway.
  16. ok - listen carefully - i shall say this only once [img=http://www.imageurl.com] It really is as simple as that.
  17. I actually found it quite funny that they had a program about their travels which probably lasted longer than the trip itself :015: I was flicking between channels and caught the "The players have 7 pairs of boots each" line which was enough for me.
  18. Hope they got the spelling right!!!!
  19. The stripes are continued on the back
  20. All applications had to be with UEFA by today, probably meaning we would get "official" word from them late this afternoon or tomorrow I would imagine.
  21. I like the strip - although I am not sure about the side panels and how they will encroach on the design on the smaller strips - especially the kids ones. I would buy it, however Errea have never done a football strip that has come anywhere close to fitting me so I'll be sticking with me ICT Rugby shirt for the foreseeable.
  22. The match reportedly took longer to play than expected as IHE kept eating the maltesers.
  23. Sounds like Caley83 failed the audition and is just jealous :015:
  24. There are probably as many arguments for a smaller squad as there are against it. However, my only thought comes down to Money, and although this may sound a bit backward, I think lack of money actually means you need a the 22-24 squad size. If we had a stash of funds available to buy "the best" then yes, you could fill your team with superstars and reduce the squad size and rely on youngsters for the reserves. But as it is we have to take in players who may be unproven at this level and it becomes a bit of a numbers game. If we sign 3 such players and one of them makes it as a first team regular, then we are doing well IMO. You need to be spending far more than we spend on 2 or 3 signings to get a "guaranteed" good player, and even then things can go wrong. If it's not broken - don't try and fix it.
