  1. Poor excuse. You could play a game of football with a cracked rib. I will be there with a few other top boys.
  2. I used to sell half time raffles and I never got a commission!
  3. Did Wayne Addicoat not play against County in the 3rd Division when he was 16? Also, Niall Calder wason the bench against Partick Thistle when he was 15.
  4. When I went to Dingwall... etc etc
  5. You wouldn't actually chant "Insert score here" Indeed. The idea being if we win 3-0 you cahnt Three nil in your cup final Three nil in your cup final etc He's done a Joey Barton!
  6. Gutted I missed that!
  7. He's doing down He's going down He's going Vigurs going down Brewster get to **** Brewster, Brewster get to **** County fans go on about us being arrogant etc so we need loads of arrogant chants if we are winning. If we win by more than three goals to nil (big if): [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final [insert score here] in your cup final We are unbeatable We are unbeatable We are unbeatable etc etc If we are losing none of this 'you only sing when you're winning' pish, it's cringeworthy.

  9. I'd expect us to stick with the same XI that played yesterday: --------------------Esson------------------- --Proctor---Bulvitis---Munro---Djebi-Zadi--- --Hayes-----Cox-----Stratford-----Eagle---- --------------Sanchez-----Foran------------- Sanchez and Foran did well up front yesterday - Sanchez took his goal well and showed some good touches and Foran was dangerous and made a goal for Cox out of very little. If Foran is at his best, he will be a real danger for County. I can see County being up for this game more than us - I'd imagine that the importance of it will be ground into their players more thanit will the guys we have, most of whom aren't Scottish or from the area. Hopefully Granty and Rosscoe will get everyone up to speed. Our most important player will probably be Lee Cox, who looks to be developing into a fantastic player, for a 19 year old to be so influential in the middle of park is rare. He also gets forward well, he scored yesterdayand had another great chance in the second half. Our defence has also been pretty solid - it was only Gary Harkins who scored against us on Sunday and I don't think County have anyone that good. Hoepfully County take a good support through - do their fans think they could fill the away end, 2200? I'd hope that we manage to pretty much fill out our end for this one.
  10. Absolutely fantastic game, really enjoyed it. I thought we were the better side in the first half but Harkins looks a class act and took his chances very well indeed. Proctor had a bit of a time with him. I thought that we looked very sharp in midfield and up front - reports of us being shot shy in earlier games look wide o fthe mark on that evidence. Foran had a good game, his work to set up Cox for the second was brilliant and Sanchez was good rolling off his man and playing neat little balls all game. Cox and Stratford in midfield were impressive - I think we've really pulled one out of the bag in signing Cox, he looks very good in this league and he's only 19. Dundee looked pretty shaky at the back and it's surprising that they haven't signed anyone to shore up these areas, considering they seem to have a lot of money to spend. In terms of their players Harkins looked dangerous as did Griffiths when he came on.
  11. Earlier than that, get through for a couple of early snifters in the Commercial.
  12. That was a great team, particularly the ten matches in a row we won just before Pele left. Robson and Wyness that season were absolute class. I often think it's sad that we used to get crowds of around 2000 at that point, yet pulled in double that for some of our routine SPL games - people really missed out. I have a VHS with highlights from the 2002/03 season, I must get round to putting it on Youtube. My favourite team was the promotion winning team 96/97 - some great players and memories. Ian Stewart, Scott McLean, Charlie Christie, Barry Wilson, Mike Teasdale, Ian McArthur, Jim Calder. Around that time there was a great feeling around the club and we really tore that division apart.
  13. Get the train - you can arrive early and drink in skanky boozers in the rough part of town and can get a couple of slabs of Tenants for the journey home. Happy days.

I booed when we lost 5-1 at home to County. Nothing wrong with booing at the right moments - booing after a 0-0 draw at home to Ayr is a bit Old Firm-esque though. I remember when we beat Albion rovers 6-1 in the 3rd, people booed because we didn't score in the second half!
  15. CaleyStan made a good point when he said that our midfield lacks experience. If we go with Eagle-Stratford-Cox-Hayes then we will have a midfield with the following experience of first team football: Hayes - 19 (29) Eagle - 8(8) Stratford - 5(0) Cox - 5(0) Dundee have guys like Paul McHale (over 100 starts at this level), Richie Hart (played First Division and SPL since 2002), Brian Kerr (100 odd starts at SPL level), Gary Harkins (60 odd starts at First division level) and Colin Cameron (played in the SPL and Premiership for donkeys). Obviously experience isn't everything and Cox has looked a promising player. I just wonder if we will be able to get a handle on the game in the middle of the park. I wouldn't be upset to see either Russell Duncan or Roy McBain coming back into the side.
  16. Teams left in the draw: Annan Ross County Partick Thistle Elgin Stirling Albion Dundee Queen of the South Elgin away would be a great draw, I might even go up for it!
  17. The First Division is going to be very close this season. Only one game so far has had more than a goal in it and that game (Morton 0 Pars 2) featured a last minute goal.
  18. Good point, perhaps we should introduce either Duncan or McBain to the midfield on Saturday.
  19. When we played Dundee in the cup semi-final one of their fans threw a bottle at me on the way to the game. :) It's all getting a bit naughty!
  20. According to hibs.net we are being linked with former Celtic and St Mirren right back David Van Zantan. Don't see it myself - we already have Proctor, Stratford and Tokely for right back cover.
  21. I am the voice of sanity. I don't think we have enough goals in our team. We did create some chances against Dunfermline but Rooney squandered three great opporunities without even getting a shot on target. What we need for a title challange if for either Rooney or Barrowman to step up their performances and start scoring regularly. Whether either of them can do this is another matter. I also think we'll really miss Dougie Imrie while he's out, he could be a great asset in the First Division. Eagle hasn't looked the real deal to me, although Hayes looked direct and pacy in his cameo at East End.
  22. I am going with a few of the faces.
  23. I worry that we'll end up like St Johnstone in the first season they came back into the First Division. They had the best defence in the league but were left behind by Falkirk, who had more goals in the team. :(
  24. Can Andy Barrowman contribute to the team this season more than last? My two cents: I think Barrowman could contribute goals this season. He was clearly out of his depth at times last season but equally he scored over 25 goals for County in the Second Division. I don't think you could score that number of goals and be incapable of making an impact one level up. Last time out Barrowman was part of a strike force of Adam Rooney, Garry Wood and Rory McAllister, with no experienced player to play alongside. Now he has an experienced targetman in Richie Foran and some players with real pace in Odhiambo and guile Sanchez, if he lives up to early promise, I think he has the potential to concentrate on bagging goals. One aspect of his play is his confidence - he had the look of a player out of sorts and timid towards the end of last season. Hopefully he will be gee'd up and ready to prove his worth. Thoughts?
  25. Any news on this?
