  1. Every time we play Motherwell we seem to take about 40 fans. When we play Hibs or Heart we take 4-500. It's bizarre.
  2. Gerry McNee worked as a Daily Express reporter in Inverness before he became the voice of (a) football. One of the funniest things I've ever seen was him not noticing a goal being disallowed during an Old Firm game on ITV about 15 years ago :015:
  3. Mark obviously has enough confidence in his ability to think that he can make an impact at Celtic. Goalkeeper is a unique position - if Boruc was injured or suffered a loss of form Brown could step in. There are also persistant rumours linking Boruc with a move away, giving Brown a chance. He might never make an appearence at Celtic but he is giving himself the opportunity to do so. If he didn't take this oppotunity he'd probably never get a chance at a club the size of Celtic again. With regards to money, he'll probably make three to four times as much at Celtic as he could at us or Falkirk. There's nothing wrong with that, after all football is his career and he has to do the best for his family. I also think that the media intrusion is being overstated - he's not a star striker, he's a reserve goalie (initially) who is hardly a gallus type who gets into bother. Good luck to Broonie, I hope he gets the first team spot at Darkhead and gets into the international squad.
  4. Good luck to Mark Brown in his move to Celtic I say. He has been an absolutely fantastic servant for us, a reliable, dependable keeper who, as said above, has been part of some of our clubs biggest achievements. Spending four and a half years at one club is a rarity in football and anyone saying Broonie is a 'traitor' or any pish like that wants to give themselves a shake. He will get a chance to make far more money which the vast majority of people in any line of work would do. Also, signing for Celtic shows he has faith in his ability to try and break into the first team - Boruc is linked with moves away to the Premiership or even Barcelona. Boruc could break his leg, get sent off, get the jail for saying mass at Ibrox - who knows? As for us, it's time to give Mikey Fraser a chance, he's never let anyone down. Perhaps we shold invest in a back-up keeper though as Jonathon Smith is on loan to Rothes and is a bit wee.
  5. I demand that someone bring a Finland flag tothe Hibs game.
  6. I have your keys RiG and this morning I ransacked your flat. I have never seen so much gay porn. :018:
  7. Clacher, where do you stay in Edinburgh? I just moved flat to one down near Easter Road, until last week I was living at Foutainbridge near Tynecastle. No-one is welcome at my flat though, I am an anti-social chunt.
  8. The Highland News is a shocking paper. They filled the back page with this ****? Utter garbage.

    Liam Keogh

I think Keogh is a good player but looking at the facts he has been injured for the last two years and was only really a key member of the team for six months in 2003/04. I can only remember him being a stand-out in one SPL game (v Rangers at Pittodrie). Hopefully a stint on loan will do him good and he can make an impact but I think he's going to be one of these players who will move to get a fresh start.
  10. I have heard it being sung in Dingwall.
  11. one man went to kill went to kill a ***** one man and his baseball bat went to kill a ***** two men went to kill went to kill a ***** two men one man and his baseball bat went to kill a ***** repeat until bored, or at least that's how I remember it.
  12. We were linked with Chris Templeman when he was at Brechin but we signed Hissy instead I think.
  13. Is Malone not a full back?
  14. From todays Inverness Courier: Any clues as to who this is? If we had scouts at First Division games could it be Dougie Imrie, left-sided Clyde attacker?
  15. We shouldn't make wholesale cahnges. In fact, we shouldn't make any unnecessary cahnges - Stirling are a good side who could easily beat us. It's a tough tie and we have no right to be complacent.

    snodgrass

He is an overrated wee ned. Take a look at Alex Williams or Brian Carrigan to see where his career is going.
  17. Chic Young sounded blootered on reporting Scotland. "The Rangers fans found the french flavours too spicy or perhaps not hot enough..." :024:
  18. Naked dancing go-go girls.
  19. The Irish Leagues might be a good shout. Reading signed Kevin Doyle a couple of years ago for £80,000 and now he's a top scorer in the premiership. I think that Mark Brown will leave, I'd imagine that Hibs would be looking at him. Dods seems certain to go as well.
  20. I don't think a players attitude depends on his passport - Nacho Novo had a good game for Rangers I thought. Sebo is a trier, it's just that he is absolutely ***** at football. I thought Le Goon's biggest mistake is not strengthening his defence - Hemdani and Svensson aren't going to inspire confidence in your team. Hemdani is a holding midfield player who is a decent footballer but when he was faced with someone like Bayne who was always going to pressure him physically he couldn't handle it. Svensson looks raw, a rookie who makes mistakes. Shocking play from him loitering on the penalty spot for our first goal. I didn't think much of their full-backs either - Papac looked average and had poor distribution and Hutton is the archetypal Rangers youth player, i.e. *****. He is the new Maurice 'Screamface' Ross. The key to our success was that we exploited these weaknesses by getting quality balls into the dangerous areas. We had more chances in the first ten minutes against Rangers than we did in the ninety minutes against Dunfermline. If you are facing a side who have a shaky back-line then put them under pressure - balls in for the forwards to chase, get it wide and stretch them out, get good balls in from set plays. We did all that to a tee. We need to do it in EVERY game now - Rankin in particular needs to take confidence from his dispaly and show that more often.
  21. Someone stick the goals on youtube.
  22. Superb performance. Defence were solid, I thougth Grant Munro in particular timed his challanges superbly and we were using the ball out of defence a lot better. Midfield were great, Rankin played the sort of game we need from him all the time, cutting in from the flank, threatening opposition goals. Bayne and Wyness did magnificently up front - Bayne using his strength and workrate and Wyness picking the ball up deeper with his great touch. Hopefully we can push on from here and pick our season up again.
  23. Excellent post. I think that in the article Charlie seems to come across as wondering why he isn't lauded to high heavens. Well, you have to achieve things to do that - we have shown over the last two seasons what we are capable of achieving and we should be matching that level of achievement. We haven't lost significant players (aside from Brewster) yet our performance level has dipped. As supporters we are entitled to ask why this is the case. I paid £21 to watch absolute rubbish on Saturday, £21 I could hardly afford, I am entitled to say - why did we play a striker who has never shown that he is capable to play at the SPL when there was a far more capable alternative on the bench; why does our midfield slip into bouts of abject disorganisation; why do our best midfielder and striker appear in the press criticising the club; why does our record signing not look worth half his fee? Of course, there are positives too at the club, no-one could argue that this is not the case. Charlie has shown himself to be an innovative manager - his changing around of the side won us the game agaisnt Falkirk, he organised the team superbly to lead us to win at Rangers, the first half against Killie we displayed some superb attacking football; last season he immediately put Wyness and Dargo together up front and they put together a magnificent scoring run. Asking these questions doesn't make anyone a bigger or better fan than anyone else.
  24. Our next few games are vital. We are capable of taking something from Rangers at home - despite their upturn, Rangers are still a side wth problems and if we stay solid defensively and show some discipline up front we can do something. Falkirk away and St mirren at home are games we have to take something from, at least avoid defeat in. Four points out of six in those two would be a good return and have us back on track.
  25. I'd say we had a few more important games during our first season up. When we beat Dundee for our second league win, we hadn't picked up three points in nearly two months and had lost six of our previous eight league games. If we'd lost that game we'd have been marooned at the bottom and it would have been as very grim situation. Also that season, we beat Livingston 4-1 at Almondvale - I think we would've been a point off the bottom if we'd lost but after that we pulled clear.
