    No thanks.

Well that's ?250,000 more to spend on players. Another new striker would come in handy, especially one who can score goals.
  3. Oh dear, that wasn't very good. Really shows the poor standard of Scottish football compared to the Premiership.

Sadly, the two headed monster runs the show in this country and the cowardice that permeates the SFA and the referees when dealing with them proves this. It's actually a worse decision than the one Norris made. While he and his linesman made the wrong decision, the had to do so in essentially two seconds - this lot have had nearly a week to watch it over and over again, from a number of different angles and they still can't get it right! The game's run by idiots and cowards here, and decisions like this should come as no surprise.

According to the Highland League website, ICT are the "home" team, but the venue has yet to be decided. Forres v Nairn is the other semi-final.

Where would this game be played? Can't see it being at the Caley Stadium. Presumably Grant Street, or would it be switched to their ground?
  7. NEIL MacGregor I think you mean .... ROY is someone different entirely .... NEIL: http://www.thefreeli...ED.-a0173883441 ROY: http://news.bbc.co.u...nty/8776759.stm Aye that's him. What a nutter!
  8. That's no way to talk about Alan Savage. No no! I'm talking about that bloke McGregor (Roy was it?). He was after Elgin at one point as well IIRC.
  9. I think this could be a pivotal moment in ICT's short history, IF these people have ICT's best interests at heart and really do have some ideas and money to help the club take the next step forward. Of course though, they might just be some tyrants looking for a new dictatorship (Romanov at Hearts being a prime example). Like everybody else mind, there's still questions that will surely be answered through time - Who are these people? Where are they from? How did they make their money? How will ICT change under their control? How will the team be different? Would Butcher be replaced with a manager of their choice? How will the stadium change? It kind of reminds me of the porn guy who wanted to buy the club a couple of years ago. Is this supposed takeover more credible than his?
  10. If ICT were to switch to 4-2-3-1, would something like this work? Piermayr Hogg Aldred G.Shinnie Tansey Foran Hayes Tade Doran Sutherland Seem to recollect Foran playing quite well in that posiiton last season and would lead to Tade playing in a more "creator" style role, which he is arguably better at and would also allow Sutherland to get a chance - a chance I think he deserves. A Tansey/Foran combination there could work. Also, would Tokely do well sitting infront of the back four? He's only played there once in the last few year (in a 3-2 defeat to Hearts when John Docherty was in charge after Brewster's sacking) - is it a possibility?
  11. He'll be out for longer at this rate!

You mean you actually had respect for Doncaster before!?

I tell you what I'd like to see, at Benfica and Lazio, they actually have a real eagle that flies into the stadium before games. Wouldn't mind ICT trying that as all.

ICT will probably use this as one of those "bounce" games that happen from time to time. Similar to the one against Lossiemouth the other week.

Butcher has said more than once that the transfer activity is done for this window, mainly due to the fact that all the money has been used. Not impossible, but highly unlikely that anyone else will come in.
  16. Having just the seen the highlights there, I think Euan Norris must have been on drugs. The Tokely one wasn't even a foul, far less a sending off and Aldred and the Rangers man simply run into each other - if those were given in every game we'd have a highlights reel of nothing but penalties every week. I think Jelavic was hard done by in the first half mind, if he is offside for his disallowed goal then there must have been only a couple of inches in it. The Hogg hand ball is simply accidental, though the Tokely/Aldred one could have been given. I think it is also interesting to note that the decisions that went Rangers way were the ones right in front of their own fans - make of that what you will, but there's no denying the cowardice that permeates the referees whenever one part of the two-headed monster comes to town. Also the note, why does Hogg stop running when Esson saves the second penalty? Had he kept going then it could have been enough to boot it away. All in all, a cagey game ruined by a referee, but ICT hardly managed to get into the opposition penalty area and some aspects tactically need to be addressed.
  17. I see many people have gone for the lone frontman. I don't think at this time ICT have anybody who could really do that role successfully - neither Tade, Foran or Sutherland are that type of player - and I can only presume that Billy McKay isn't either. I also think that Tade and Foran are two similar to start together, as they are both these battering ram type forwards that can't always be beneficial - it kind of reminds me of the Bayne/Niculae partnership that didn't really come to much. I think a 4-3-3, with Hayes moved into the front line could be the most beneficial system to use at this time.
  18. We are all Ross Tokely. Justice for the number 3!
  19. Esson Piermayr Hogg Aldred* G.Shinnie Doran Jones Tansey Sutherland Foran Hayes * - If Tokely's red card is appealed successfully, then he keeps his place ahead of Aldred, with Aldred taking Laing's place on the bench. Subs - Tuffey, Ross, Tade (Super Sub), A.Shinnie, Morrison, Greig, Laing
  20. I happen to think that Butcher would be interested in taking over Rangers, after all they are his team, along with Ipswich and I can't see him turning either of those jobs down. My hunch actually is that he might actually be away sooner than some might imagine - I can't see him being a Guy Roux/Jim McLean character myself.

I think what can be at times detrimental to Tade's game is that he might be a bit too keen. In saying that though, I'd rather have a player that was too keen, that one who couldn't be bothered.

    Bring back Angus!
  23. Ah but what style will get you there in the first place in order to do that as much as possible? That's the thing.
  24. And what's the deal with these wee short corners? Just get it in the box!
  25. Renegade replied to dougal's topic in Caley Thistle
I was just going to say that actually. Tade I think would work very well in that "super sub" role, especially as teams grow more tired as time goes on, where Tade would have more freedom and space between the lines or out wide to do whatever it is he does. If he is used in this manner, he could become a very dangerous player indeed.
