  1. What was the point in having it behind closed doors? Surely had it been open, even for a small entrance fee it would have been better off for the club financially.
  2. It's not about the standard of football - it's about the style. St Mirren and Kilmarnock seem capable of retaining possession, but last season ICT were still playing a style akin to a team in the English Division 4 in 1982. That's one of the main factors turning people away.
  3. What about "Caley Thistle United"?
  4. That's the OF for you. I remember being in Glasgow when Rangers won the league on the Sunday in Kilmarnock the season after last (I'd been to ICT v Hamilton on the Saturday) and Buchanan Street was like the Gaza Strip. Scary stuff, and it's not just neds, it's women, it's kids, it's old folks, you could actually sense the tension in the air. I even saw one guy running out of a KFC to throw things at a Rangers fans-filled bus! Sadly that's Glasgow for you. The Old Firm have ruined that city.
  5. People are sick to death of having to watch this long ball/hoof and hope garbage that was served up last season, played with signings who have no connection to the fans, the club or the area and look (and in many cases do) jump at the first chance to leave as soon as it arises (Tansey, Aldred and Davis being some prime examples, and in the case of Tansey and others, they are signings which are simply not good enough). I've heard of quite a few people who aren't renewing, and these are the reasons given every time, with the style of football being the one constant factor.
  6. I'm a bit confused, the article suggests he was on trial in these last few games, but he said himself that he'd signed a pre-contract months ago after playing in that trialist game.
  7. As others have said, he certainly had something about him. Pretty quick and looked dangerous when running at people. He could well come good I reckon, but was unlucky with injuries while here.
  8. I forgot about him!
  9. Sutherland is NOT a winger. McKay up-front alone does NOT work. For me - Esson Meekings Warren King G.Shinnie Draper Doran------------------------------Foran A.Shinnie McKay Oswell Subs - Reguero, Sutherland, Jones, Raven, Cooper, Ross, Pepper
  10. From what I could see, Graeme Shinnie is now number 3, Draper is number 8, Doran is now 17, Meekings is now 14, Reguero is 12, Morrison is 19, McKay is 7, Cooper is 32, Laing is 20, Polworth is 21 and Pepper is 22. I'd presume (if the others haven't changed, that Warren is 6 and King is 15. I hope there's a number 13 this year. I always find it annoying that people are so scared of it!
  11. I believe Dundee do something like that and it's entwined with their sponsors in some way. Here's another idea, this might seem a bit left field but hear me out - When you're coming into land at Luton Airport, I've always noticed that on the way down, there's a retail park, with a B&Q. I know that because they've stuck a massive yellow B&Q sign on the roof, so thousands of people everyday will be sitting looking out the window saying "Oh look there's a B&Q!". Now the planes coming in to Inverness get quite a good view of the TCS on the way in, particularly the top of the South Stand. Could the club get more money from advertising on the roof of that stand a la B&Q?
  12. Apparently Simon King can play at left back and I believe Warren can fill in there as well.
  13. If ICT don't win the league this year, I will be very angry! :annoyed:
  14. Horizontally you say...
  15. That was my thinking as well, though the same was said a couple of seasons back and a few weeks later Stuart Duff was signed up, but I know there's a lot more financial differences now. I don't think Casalinouvo's even that good anyway.
  16. Poster on P&B says he's heard Casalinouvo is coming on trial. Not heard that myself, and is he really any good?
  17. Excellent performance. As I've always said, ICT are a far better team when the balls on the deck and some of the passages of play (particularly for the third goal) were really good, even more so when you consider the amount of new additions. Doran was very good, the two Shinnie's will be big players this season and I think Draper shows signs that he'll come on to a good game. Unlike last season, that team looks like a much more solid unit, with each player doing their job very well in the grander machine. Two points of note though - McKay, while a good player, is not a lone frontman. He needs support. I'd like to see him and Oswell getting a run together as that could be a combination that works well for both players attributes. The tactical game for me this season would be to scrap the 4-2-3-1, and go for either a straight 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 Diamond with Foran moved out to wide left, Doran at wide right, Oswell and McKay up top, with Shinnie in the "hole". The other point, which is linked to the above, regards Shane Sutherland. The guy is not, has not and will never be a winger. He's a battering ram centre forward and nothing else. There's no point in saying, "well, he might come good". He won't, as he doesn't have the pace, balance, the ball work or the physical build to do that job. Overall a good display and the kind of football that we need to see next year. PS - Since when was Ruud Gullit Coventry manager?!
  18. That's what the poster Bridge and Castle got banned for. All he did was call Butcher English and someone got offended!
  19. It was a somewhat decent performance, yes.
  20. I enjoyed it. Bit surreal though seeing an international like Jones playing in what is essentially a public park though! Ryan Christie was good, as was that Connor Pepper and that Polworth runs he's swimming lol! He played well though mind. The keeper pulled off one great save as well. A decent performance.
  21. What's the deal for seating for the Coventry game? Is the whole ground open as normal, or just the Main Stand?
  22. I was looking at the threads recently from the time Brewster was sacked and the amount of people who suggested Bomber Brown to replace him is quite worrying!
  23. According to today's P&J, Butcher reckons Sutherland is the "ideal replacement" for Hayes and "has all the attributes to do well on the wing".
  24. You can for it pay it monthly IIRC.
