  1. Indeed they are. I remember getting one of their leaflets through the door at the last general election. Some of their policies make the BNP look quite liberal! They seem petrified of gays, yet are keen on upping the speed limit on motorways and bringing the space shuttle to the Highlands! They really are a funny bunch.
  2. Watch and learn Nessie!
  3. I see a County fan on P&B says that there is some rumours going round that Michael McGovern has signed a pre-contract with ICT. Can't really see that being true myself. McGovern has rejected ICT before and anyway there's enough keepers here just now as it is.
  4. I'm sure I read somewhere recently that Butcher is keen to arrange another English tour, similar to the Blackpool one last year.
  5. Can you pay at the gate?
  6. And you'll get a reply from me too - a big red one!
  7. A Paterson-esque 3-5-2 for me - Esson Hogg Munro Gillet Sutherland Cox Duncan Ross Doran Rooney Foran Subs - Tuffey, Innes, Blumenshtein, Golabek, Odhiambo, Morrison, MacDonald It may look a little adventerous, but the three across the back is mainly due to the fact that St Johnstone play Parkin and Samuel up front, both of whom have the attributes to be a handful (two to mark, one to cover) and the fact that most of ICT's regular right backs our out makes me feel that this system would be the most beneficial.
  8. A couple who could do a job. That Mensing I thought was quite a good player when I saw him this season and he can play a few positions too. There was Hasselbaink who impressed me earlier in the season also but not so much at the second time of viewing. Of course Thomas Cerny is another one, perhaps their best player at times (and the king of time wasting!), but ICT don't really need another keeper just now. I don't know about the rest of them though. Alex Neil was quite highly regarded and his contracts up at the end of the season but he seems constantly injured. Antoine-Curier is another one who's contract is also up soon. Could he do a job for ICT?
  9. I wonder if the seller has gotten hold of shirts the club had as a kind of back up kit where, if a new shirt was needed, they could just stick a sponsor on and use it. Either that or it could be a U19/Reserve kit as I know they sometimes where ICT shirts that go without sponsors. Kind of reminds me as well of a friendly against Clach a few years ago where one reserve (who's name I haven't a clue) came on with the Flybe Swish top as a substitute wearing a sponsor-less kit. A U19 or trial game is probably the best bet for when the kit was used.
  10. What worries me is that while all the talk with contracts has been about Rooney, where's the talk about Russell Duncan? IMO he's an extremely important player to this club and I'm sure many others will agree that the team are better on the pitch when he's there. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be someone that Butcher has taken to at all and I fear that he will be gone in the not too distant future.
  11. HT - ICT 1-1 Hearts FT - ICT 1-1 Hearts ICT 1st scorer - Foran Hearts 1st scorer - Templeton Attendance - 4,101
  12. I think so. I remember him playing in the game against Clachnacuddin in the first half and he really was excellent. Looked a real cut above the rest. IIRC he was also due to play for ICT against Forres but got injured in the pre-match warm up. A shame really as he could of been a top class player if he wasn't always injured.
  13. An attacking set up for me, not need to play conservatively as there's no way ICT can go down and attacking Hearts gives the team more chance of pushing for 7th place. Esson Tokely Hogg Munro Gillet Cox Duncan Doran Hayes Rooney Foran Subs - Tuffey, MacDonald, Duff, Ross, Sutherland, Golabek, Morrison A 4-3-3 for me, with a license for Hayes and Foran to pull out wide and also come inside. Three in the middle to try and win the midfield, and Tokely at right back to give more attacking options down that side.
  14. Butcher was assistant manager at Partick Thistle for a time, just before he went off to Brentford. I'll tell you this though, no matter how untried McCoist may be, Butcher would never turn down Rangers. Not in any capacity IMO.
  15. I'm quite sure he and Malpas are signed up until the end of next season. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if Butcher is named as McCoist's assistant at Rangers next season, with - along with Butcher's blessing - Maurice Malpas taking over the manager's job. God help us if that happens, Malpas is a horrible manager.
  16. I seem to recollect ICT wearing that kit in an away tie in Dingwall in September 2001. IIRC ICT got beat 2-1, Nicky Walker was stuck in America due to biscuits and terrorists and Bobby Mann got sent off.
  17. One thing that I hope ICT take notice of in the signing of players for next season, is the style of play. If ICT carry on with the hoof-it-up-the-park-aimlessly-to-no-one style, they'll be heading nowhere but down next season. Mixu and Killie have shown us that attacking, entertaining football can lead to a good deal of success in the SPL and I for one hope Butcher takes great note of that. However, I fear that he will not and that will be his and the team's downfall. This team needs creativity, this team needs to attack.
  18. One of the hardest working players in the history of ICT.
  19. In my opinion, now that it looks like ICT won't get a top six spot this season, it's time to look at what's needed for next season. For me - Goalkeepers Ryan Esson Johnny Tuffey Max Johnson I think I'm right in saying that both Esson and Tuffey are signed up for next season. Obviously these are two class goalkeepers, so there is no real need in bringing another challenger for the number 1 jersey in. I'm not sure what the circumstances are with Max Johnson but he's still a fairly young and up and coming keeper. IIRC he may well be only signed up for this season but it be worth retaining him for another year and he also has experience to a certain level in playing a part in the Newcastle United reserve team. Renegade's Verdict - No need for any new personnel, unless one of the three leaves. Defenders Ross Tokely (Right Back, Centre Back, occasional Left Back, occasional Right Midfielder + often used as a target man striker when goal is needed with time running out) Kenny Gillet (Left Back, can be used at Left Midfield and can play at Centre Back) Grant Munro (Centre Back, occasional Left Back) Graeme Shinnie (Left Back, can also play at left midfield) Chris Hogg (Centre Back, but can play at Right Back) Chris Innes (Centre Back) David Proctor (Right Back, Centre Back, Right Midfield, Central Midfield, occasional Left Back) Stuart Duff (Right Back, Central Midfield, occasional Left Back) Stuart Golabek (Left Back, has been known to play at Centre Back and even more occasionally at Left Midfield) NB - Ross Tokely signed a one year deal at the start of this season, but has the option to sign for another one. On the whole, a feel that Innes offers little in any capacity for the team and him leaving would not be a big loss. Golabek may be old but he may offer some experience and cover for certain areas. I feel that Hogg is a good defender and I'd like to see him stay put. Duff, I'm a little unsure about but perhaps does offer cover in a number of different places. Renegade's Verdict - Punt Chris Innes. Try and bring in perhaps one more centre half, preferably one that has a great deal of height to challenge for a first team spot. Midfielders Lee Cox (Central Midfield, can also play at Right Back) Russell Duncan (Central Midfield, has been known to occasionally fill in at Right Back) Eric Odhiambo (Striker, Right Wing, Left Wing, Attacking Midfield) Roy McBain (Central Midfield, Left Back, Left Midfield) Gavin Morrison (Central Midfield, Left Midfield) Gil Blumenshtein (Central Midfield, Attacking Midfield, Left Wing, Right Wing, Striker) Nick Ross (Central Midfield, Attacking Midfield, Left Wing, Right Wing) Johnny Hayes (Left Wing, Right Wing) Blumenshtein has been either constantly injured or deemed not good so should not be retained. I feel that despite his bright start to the season, Odhiambo offers little to anything to the ICT squad. He may be quick but he has no first touch, no cross and not much else. His effort levels have also come in to question at times. McBain, like Golabek may be old, but I feel that he may still be able to provide a significant amount of cover and experience for the team. Renegade's Verdict - Punt Odhaimbo and Blumenshtein. Possibly retain McBain. I feel that ICT should look for perhaps one more winger and a good ball playing central midfielder for next season. Strikers Adam Rooney (Striker) Richie Foran (captain) (Striker, Left Wing) Shane Sutherland (Striker, Left Wing, Right Wing) Dani Sanchez (Striker, Attacking Midfield, Left Wing, Right Wing) Obviously retaining Rooney is a big issue and if he is to go and strong goal scoring striker is desperately needed. I'd also look at keeping Dani Sanchez. Renegade's Verdict - Try and retain all current strikers, but even if Rooney is to go, I'd still likely to see another one being brought in. Preferably someone of a Craig Dargo esque physique. End of Loan Aaron Doran Alex MacDonald Renegade's Verdict - I wouldn't complain if either of these two were brought back for next season. Name in: Red is signed up for next season Green is not signed up for next season but efforts should be made to keep them Blue is not signed up for next season and should not be retained Pink is not signed up for next season but should perhaps be retained So what's needed? IMO another striker (maybe two), a big centre half, a central midfielder and probably another fast winger is what's needed for ICT to have a good squad for next season. While I can't think of many names right now, the only one I definitely keen to bring in would be Gregory Tade, as he cover a number of positions and offers a bit of bulk and speed, a combination of two in one is not something that is currently present in the ICT team. Whether he'd come or not is another issue, especially with Raith being in with a chance of promotion. What are your thoughts on what is needed for next season?
  20. I see Csaba Laszlo is interested now. A good manager I reckon but will Killie and their fans want to switch to a less attractive style of football?
  21. With Mixu gone I'm a bit unsure of how Killie will play, so I reckon the best bet is to try and win the midfield. For me - Esson Tokely Hogg Munro Gillet Cox Duncan Sutherland Hayes* Foran Rooney Subs - Tuffey, Doran, MacDonald, Golabek, Innes, Duff, Blumenshtein/Odhiambo * - Hayes is a free roam/central winger.
  22. It's more than that is it not? There was two Motherwell games called of a couple of months ago (one of which was due to rain IIRC) and don't forget, there was a QOTS game called off due to very vague and unusual circumstances last season. It seems to be a bit of a recurring theme.
  23. Don't condone that either. Eh, bit of a difference in celebrating your team getting to the Champions League final and getting Juanjo sent off by blatant cheating. Another stupid thing to do. These are adults, not wee boys. And anyway, to me it looks like McCoist isn't shouting at all, more likely saying something about Diouf. It's Lennon who snaps and appears to say "hang on a second, he had a pop at me first". Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that he's a wee ned who constantly gets himself in trouble and loses nearly every must win game. He'll get found out before too long. He doesn't exactly strike me as a particularly intelligent man at all, something that'll lead to his downfall in the future.
  24. I see if you read the comments further down, he seems to think that the fact that the fact that the Celtic groundsman has won the best groundsman award three times, backs up his argument. Like most Celtic fans, he's more interested in point scoring than actual facts! And looking at some of his other articles, they all seem to be of the same cringworthy ilk.
