  1. There's a fine line between passion and stupidity. When he got Juanjo sent off, what passion! Getting a touchline ban against Hearts, what passion! Getting sent to the stand in a friendly against Athletic Bilbao, what passion! The guy's a liability and it's only a matter of time before he gets himself the sack IMO.
  2. Interestingly, before he signed for Toronto, he played for the Frogs, the Seals and even the Golden Bears!
  3. If this isn't another reason to get some sort of cover for the pitch, I don't know what is!
  4. HT - ICT 1-1 Celtic FT - ICT 2-2 Celtic ICT 1st scorer - Foran Celtic 1st scorer - Ledley Attendance - 7,058
  5. I have a bad feeling about this. 2-0 Lennon
  6. What I noticed was the contrast in managers. Menezes looked all swave and suited and booted, unlike Levein who looked like he'd spent last night sleeping in a Soho doorway. Where's the inspiration in that?
  7. What's the deal with Scots? On mine, I put down my language as English only, and as far as I'm aware, Scots is a dialect of English. So how do you know if you can speak it? I'm sure people think they're speaking English (aren't they?) and I can watch as episode of Still Game without a dictionary or subtitles (unlike in the Scheme!) so where does that put me?
  8. That Garry Wood's being on the go for years!
  9. Do holes have kitchens and dining rooms?
  10. Not so sure about that. He signed for Brechin 31st Jan after being released by ICT. Brewster was sacked on 19th Jan and Butcher joined on 27th. I think he was one of those let go to allow Butcher to bring in his own. Did he had a couple of weeks teamless before joining Brechin? I'm pretty sure Brew booted him just days before he himself did. IIRC he was part of a small group Brew tried to get rid of that January that included an attempt to loan out Lionel. Edit - Just looked it up that in fact McAllister was released after Brew was sacked. Brew was sacked on the 19th and McAllister was released on the 23rd, so would've been released probably by the ICT stand in staff (John Docherty?) and was released a few days before Butcher came in.
  11. Sorry, I can't make head or tail of what you're on about. Go back to your medicine.
  12. Seems to be another one of those players Butcher just hasn't seem to have taken to at all.
  13. I'm not, Dougal originally went for 600-900 IIRC, then to 1,500+ before changing his vote again. Dougiedanger is another voter.
  14. I'm pretty sure getting rid of McAllister was one of the last things Brewster did as ICT boss.
  15. Would be nice if you also told us that you have changed your vote three times over the last week, at one stage being one of only two posters who went for 1,500+.
  16. While I agree with this statement, I feel that if ICT want to have any chance in winning this game, they need to have three strong battlers in the midfielders to win the ball. I feel a player of Foran's ilk would be best suited in doing this,.

What about the Iceland flag? It's pretty similar.

    Esson

Just from reading the thing there about Ryan Esson leading the POTY poll as things stand (and IMO he'll probably, deservedly win the lot), has got me wondering, is Ryan Esson the best ever ICT keeper? Obviously there other ones that also stand out - Mark Brown was a good shot stopper and very good player for the club over a number of years but his kicking and what not wasn't the best. Also, he hadn't a clue about what to do with penalties. Of course the other one that comes to mind is Jim Calder. A very good keeper and excellent penalty stopper and IMO is the only one who can challenge Esson for the mantle. The fact that he was a bit of showman too also helped endear himself to the fans. Could he have played at SPL level though? That's the thing. Obviously Tuffey is a good keeper as well, but he hasn't had enough games (not yet anyway). But is there anyone else really of any note? Zibi? McRichie? Fraser? Walker? Fridge!!?? Of course none of this lot were half as good as Esson, so that begs the question - Ryan Esson, is the he ICT's best ever goalie?
  21. Esson Tokely Hogg Munro Gillet* Hayes Cox Duncan Doran Rooney Foran Subs - Tuffey, Ross, MacDonald, Sutherland, Golabek, Innes, Duff * - If Gillet is out, Shinnie comes in, if both are out, Golabek comes in.

Does anyone else remember a guy who wanted to buy the club and build one? Whatever happened to him? He was nuts.

  24. What about the overseas viewers? I believe Setanta (yes, they still exist, or at least did last time I checked) would have the rights to show the game in Australia/North America, as well as those who would the show the game in Asia. Could there not be a chance that the game could still go out live elsewhere, something that ICT could still benefit financially from?
  25. I think what some people have to remember, is that the idea of a merger is nothing new. IIRC it is believed that there was a time when a merger was very close in the 30s between Caley, Thistle and Clach (and possibly Citadel). In fact I think I might be right in saying that Caley and Thistle themselves were also mergers from previous and now somewhat forgotten clubs (Inverness Rovers, Inverness Celtic, Crown FC etc.). Also, an Inverness XI also played a number of friendlies against bigger opposition over the years. And it's not just here. Elgin City were formed from the merger of Vale of Lossie and Elgin Rovers. Aberdeen were formed from three clubs - an older, different club also called Aberdeen FC, Victoria United and Orion. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples too where clubs have merged and benefited from it in the long run.
