Derek Adams A true football gentleman.

  3. Something about how Burnley should keep their hands off because you think he'll be ICT's next manager.
  4. I take your the poster "ICTFC" on there then who commented then. I know it's you, no-one else uses such a pointless amount of smileys!
  5. Just because you post the same word over and over again, doesn't make what you want to happen, more likely to happen.

Why oh why are people still going with Odhiambo in that central midfield role? He may have scored on Tuesday, but essentially every time plays there, he is completely ineffective. It's an even more bizarre decision when bearing in mind that Danni Sanchez is far better suited to and a far better player in that role. He can open up the game from that position, Odhiambo can't.
  7. I have been a critic of Butcher this season, and to an extent I still am. I though, come from a different sway of opinion. In the beginning, when Brewster was sacked, I favoured bringing Butcher in. I felt he was the man to keep ICT up, but he wasn't. This season, could probably described (so far) as Butcher's greatest achievement in management. ICT started off pretty poorly, but he has brought in players and brought the determination to the squad that was needed, and has made ICT the force to be reckoned with that it has become in the second half of the season. That is to his credit. Still, despite the positive record right now, there still seems to be a few elementary issues that are still the case with squad. Some of the results have been good, but the play a good chunk of the time, hasn't. Some of players still don't seems to know how pass or control a ball. This is basic stuff. Some of the players seem a bit scared to shoot and some still seem to be too keen to go for the long punt when a short pass is the best option. All this, along with problems that should of been sorted long ago, such as a cure for the (at times) very leaky defence, the failure to find a true captain, players are playing who aren't good enough in certain parts of the field (such as Odhiambo in the middle of the midfield) are still in the mindset of the powers that at ICT. I also find it quite strange that some players, namely Iain Vigurs and Roy McBain seem to have disappeared since Butcher took charge, it makes me wonder who'll be next to fall. Overall, the record at ICT right now is fairly good, but there is still work to be done.
  8. I read on the County forum the other day that someone was taken out for calling Butcher an "English C-Word". Probably the same guy.
  9. What you should say is - Nah we're not going to Hampden But we are going to Parkhead, Ibrox, Tynecastle, Easter Road, Fir Park, Pittodrie etc.
  10. Where was it filmed from then? I'm guessing the main stand. There was no-one on the normal filming platform, probably because of the wind. There was some old dude running about the side of the pitch with a camcorder.. I dont have a clue who he was though.... Aye, I saw him too. Don't know what he was doing though.

Indeed it could, but the culture of these threads is to show what YOU would do, and has been the case for many years. And anyway, you give us the crux of the thing for YOUR thread anyway!
  12. The game wasn't filmed from what I could see.
  13. Whatever it was I'm sure it isn't life threatening.
  14. So, there's 5 games left. How many more points/wins do you think are needed to win it?
  15. Renegade replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
But the aim of thread is to show what you would play. Not to guess what Butcher's team will be.

I reckon with this game, that Raith are going to be another one of those ultra-defensive, six man back-line teams in the same way that Airdrie and Morton, so for me - Esson Tokely-----Bulvitis-----Munro-----Golabek Cox McBain Hayes Sanchez Rooney Foran Subs - Allison, Proctor, Odhiambo, Djebi-Zadi, Eagle A Dutch/Johan Cruyff-esque 4-3-3 for me. Keep attacking Raith because chances are they'll play ultra defensive. If it becomes clear that ICT don't need 4 defenders, then Tokely or Golabek can move onto in the midfield and play in a 3-4-3. The tactics for me are the simple, keep the ball moving and keep it on the deck as much as possible, and go out and gub them!
  17. I fear ICT! They always seem to blow it. :drinking09:
  18. Boo yeah! That was the result that was needed. ICT were all over County in the first half, the slum dwellers never looked like scoring. A hard free kick by Foran, Odhiambo's scissor kick and a well taken run and shot by Hayes. ICT really should have gubbed them, that was one of the poorest County sides I've seen in a long time. The first half ICT played some nice football, and obviously scored the three goals. In the second half, ICT seemed more eager to contain County, instead of going all out for more. I also thought County looked more solid at the back when Watt came on. The conditions didn't help things, especially with ICT being a bit too keen at times to play the long ball when a simple passing game would have made more sense and would have been more effective. Nobody in red and blue had a particularly bad game today, though Eric does at times look the weak link. He scored and worked hard, but he gets too crowded out in the role he is currently in. I'd start with Sanchez. Foran worked hard throughout, Cox fairly zipped around, Duncan was quietly efficient while Hayes played well (though can at times be a bit too predictable). Rooney also worked hard and and had the chance to make it 4, with a ball from Duncan in the second half that went right across goal. The thing I noticed with him though, is despite him working hard, if he isn't in the box, and is put under pressure, he doesn't seem to quite know what to do. He maybe lacks the all round football intelligence that can be seen in say, Foran or Sanchez. A comprehensive result for ICT, it could've been a gubbing and with that result and the Dundee result today, ICT are very very close to the Promise Land of the 1st Division title. 15 games undefeated, 15 reasons why ICT are a team to be reckoned with, 15 reasons why ICT are the team to beat, 15 reasons why ICT will be Champions on the 1st of May. It's time to say goodbye to the past, it's time to kiss the future Viva le ICT! Viva le ICT!
  19. He might have scored but he wasn't that good.
  20. A good player - one with natural ability and a decent work ethic - would ADAPT his game not expect the team to adapt theirs ! All through my working life things have changed constantly .... technology, rules, methods, the way a manager or director wants things done etc .... and each and every time I have to try and adapt my methods to make sure I can be as good as I can be rather than expect others to change theirs. I don't think that's always the case. Some managers tactics just don't work for certain players. As we all know, Brew loved the long ball game, would a wee 5"2 striker (no matter how good he was), be effective as a target man for the long ball game? I don't think so. That's not to say that Barrowman couldn't have put more effort in. The last time I saw him play a couple of weeks ago, I think I could've put more effort in than he did. Pardon!! pse explain!! that one after you are older than me and I still play albeit part time ..but dont pretend I am as good as AB Sorry what?

  22. This is one of the most important games in ICT's history. I know I've started a few on these threads, but this is the one that really matters. Whilst a loss tonight would not be the end, a win would be sensational for ICT's promotional chances. My own personal prediction is that should ICT beat County tonight, ICT will go on and win it. Lets go forth and gub the County! Viva ICT!
  23. Isn't this coming from the same poster that claimed that despite the huge amount of snow and possibly dangerous conditions on the roads, those who decided not to travel to a certain ICT game last season, reasons for not travelling were "lame"?
