  1. I seem to recollect that one as well and it might have been Unirea Urziceni who beat Rangers recently but I can't remember exactly. The story with the sending off, was something like the Romanian bloke was sent off and when he went off the Romanians sneekily threw another guy on but they were found out not long afterwards IIRC. Edit - just noticed the list further above and it wasn't Unirea at all, rather Craivo. My mistake.
  2. Just thinking earlier about some of the bizarrer teams ICT have played in friendly matches over the years. Obviously the first one that comes to mind is ICT's 2-0 win over the Qatar U21 side in Italy. ICT have also had friendlies against teams like Bolton and QPR, but are there any friendlies that ICT have played in that have been against teams who aren't the normal Highland leagues sides they normally play or were there any rumoured friendlies against more unusual opponents, that in the end never happened? Discuss.
  3. Oh dear, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that list.
  4. I've thought myself quite a few times as well but not just when it comes to Lionel. As you've said, you'd think that having a management duo who were both such accomplished defenders would lead to ICT having if anything a very strong defence. You'd think that even if other parts of the squad wasn't quite as good, the defence would be the one place that would be secure, but it isn't. And I find it odd that this is the case.
  5. Probably cause both the home and away ICT kits would clash with the blue and white stripes of Killie. I have to say myself, it looks rather snazzy.
  6. Have to laugh at some people, Lionel has a bad game and all of a sudden Golabek is Maldini and Roberto Carlos all rolled into one! Golabek has look rather mediocre in every game (bar County away) I've seen him play him in. Hopefully a new competent left back can be signed at some point, or the very promising Graeme Shinnie can step out to the plate.
  7. Agree with the bit in bold, but I also feel that the fact that there is absolutely no leader on the park whatsoever is a big factor. Munro can be a very efficient centre half, but I feel it's a bit ironic that he doesn't wear a captains armband, as he's no captain at all. You never see him shouting or rallying the players, and a leader needs to be found ASAP cause ICT will be going nowhere until that problem is solved.
  8. Because he's big I reckon. Butcher has had one constant at every team he's been at - long high balls towards a target man. A boring and mostly ineffective style of play. No wonder almost all of his teams fail.
  9. Agreed, look at Charlie's Christie's team, Robertson's team when ICT were promoted, Brewster's first team along with the final team Paterson had. They were far far superior to what ICT have now become. I would even go as far as saying that this is one of the sorriest versions of ICT I have ever seen.
  10. TBH I couldn't really see what all the fuss was about.
  11. Renegade replied to BA's topic in Caley Thistle
I'd go with - Esson Proctor Bulvitis Munro Djebi-Zadi Tokely------Cox------Hayes Sanchez Foran Rooney Subs - Allison, McBain, Odhiambo, Duncan, Golabek
  12. "Untalented"? You mean like Andy?
  13. Anyone else read the comment from "Brian" further down? For those who didn't he says - Brian Absolutely agree with the club on this one. They should not have to put up with a constant stream of negative comments aimed at them from their own stadium announcer. Did he honestly think the club were going to put up with all these ridiculous comments, whilst still employing him to do a job? Someone in the boards answer to the whole thing perhaps?
  14. Doesn't look like it. Don't wait for the official site though, Barry Robson just gone out on loan to Forfar according to there.
  15. I saw from the Who's Online page a guest printing something off just after all this sacking stuff erupted. Coincidence? :wave01:
  16. I was going to say that myself! You better delete the last part of that post or it'll execution time for you!
  17. So here's the answers as promised - 1. Which actor did Terry Butcher fall out with, essentially ending his time at Sydney? Without a Trace star Anthony LaPaglia. Butcher and him fell out mainly due to Butcher's love of long balls which LaPaglia had a deep dislike for, as did many supporters and pundits. During Butcher's feud with him (and while he was still in the job), Butcher claimed he would never watch LaPaglia's programme again. Some info - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-sack-jibe.html http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/soc...r-1111112398816 LaPaglia's comments on Butcher are at 06:06
  18. Just go into the shop, they give out previous games ones free.
  19. Holy moly, more freedom in Communist Russia!
  20. I never mentioned penalties.
  21. How on Earth two people can give 5 to Rooney is nuts. He does nothing but miss.
  22. I see I got me programme today for ?2.50, and this weeks is far far smaller than before. It's just a wee flimsy thing. An indication of ICT's financial trouble perhaps?
  23. Today, ICT probably just edged it but neither side were particularly good. I got a bit of a shock when I saw Pele walking through the car park, but sadly our curly haired messiah was only presenting an award to the number 9'd Tokely. Some of the tactics did seem to be a bit Brewster-esque today. Long balls did seem to be the order of the game. Both sides had chances with Partick hitting the bar just after going ahead, and Proctor headed off the line during a corner. For ICT Foran had a magnificent chance saved, by a keeper who was on top form. Most of the team played quite well. Esson had one good save, but had little chance with the goal. Proctor was quiet while Cox was quite effective in the midfield. Bulvitis and Munro looked solid, while Djebi-Zadi had a couple of scary moments but also came more into the game as time went on. Tokely looked a little dodgy at times but was still fairly decent. Hayes had a very good first half and decent second, while Sanchez looked productive besides one miss that he should of put away. Foran came in and out of the game but still had some good moments, while Rooney, besides being extremely slow just doesn't seem to know how to put chances away which includes the first penalty that was very poorly taken. Odhiambo added a bit of zip while the ref seemed to blow for everything under the sun and booked Hayes for what looked to me like a penalty. Overall not to bad, but ICT really need to learn how to chances into goals.
  24. What do you mean the board pushed Esson out?
