  1. I would just like to say that if the Wikipedia editor is indeed a bit more in the know, I would just like to make it known that if Shane Smeltz has indeed signed for our fair club, I would be delighted.
  2. Aye, their flag was down the away dug out end, but it's not necessarily about anyone being "offended", it's more about how professionally the club portrays itself.
  3. There was a Spanish flag.
  4. Indeed, it's not like this announcer was picked out from the street at random. He knew weeks ago that this tie was coming up and if he didn't know how to pronounce Vallodolid, then he should of looked it up and learned it. You'd never hear a commentator on the TV say - "Well here comes the Spanish team for tonight's game, but unfortunately they're foreign so I won't tell you who they are cause I don't know how!" It's just very unprofessional, that's what it is.
  5. Calder Tokely Dods Mann Hayes Wilson Bingham Sheerin Robson Dargo Wyness (1st spell) Subs - Esson, Christie, Stewart, Black, Hastings, Brewster, Rankin/Foran/Richie Manager - Steve Paterson Edit - I somehow managed to forget Paul Richie!
  6. Well he was born in Germany, but he plays for NZ (and has done since the U20s), grew up there and counts himself as a New Zealander. He is thus one of them.
  7. Yeah, it Smeltz like a hoax. He's scored 40 goals in the last 2 A-league seasons and probably makes decent money. Shame though, could've been an extravaganza of puns on this thread if we'd signed him. He scored against Italy for NZ at the World Cup IIRC.
  8. According to Wikipedia, ICT's number 22 and presumably new signing is striker.....Shane Smeltz! Though he is down as Australian, even though he is actually a New Zealander!
  9. A bit of a dull game really. ICT really need to keep the ball down a bit more, they did at times, but sometimes it's just long ball after long ball. Vallodolid played some nice stuff. Proper Spanish football for periods, but maybe lacked a bit of bite going forward. Tuffey was solid, Tokely had a good game and Odhiambo again looked good, along with Cox and Ross putting in good shifts. Blumenshtein was anonymous a lot of the time, and I think that's mainly to do with he was played. He has a good touch and some other good aspects of his game, but he's no tear-away-winger like Hayes. Hopefully Butcher will see this and moves him to the centre, cause if he stays out wide it'll probably be more of the same. Gillet looked comfortable on the ball and seems to have potential, but did look a little rusty at times but that's to be expected considering he hasn't played a game for a few months. Rooney again didn't get the distribution. I still feel ICT are maybe one good striker away from a good team, but there is potential in what is in hand.
  10. Did Butcher not say the other day that with the results of the scans, Hayes and Foran can now work their way back to full fitness?
  11. When I got my mine a couple of weeks ago, the Main Stand was nearly sold out, though there was still a fair amount of North Stand seats available. Not a huge amount though.
  12. Surely it would just be that the signings are over for this transfer window no?
  13. I also endorse the aforementioned view, that would favour a tie that would be played in Dingwall against Ross County FC.
  14. Apparently there's Premiership clubs after him. No chance he'd come here. Just another IHE wind-up.
  15. Will this be before or after Robbo and Duncan Shearer become ICT's management team, the Niculae case is settled and the signing of Darren Huckerby?
  16. Anyone else think that Blumenshtein's corners were quite good?
  17. Too early to say IMO.
  18. I have been led to believe that it pretty is written by someone else, from the player's perspective and they then just stick his name on it.
  19. From what I could see, it was 4-2-3-1 for the first half and 4-4-2 after Odhiambo came on.
  20. It's interesting to note, that the country with the lowest number of murders in the world is Norway. They have no life sentence. Their prison system also seems to work, as this video shows -
  21. On the death penalty, I agree with Mayor Bloomberg -
  22. Well that was a bit of a boring game. ICT still seem too eager to punt it, with the play not being the best. The best players - Cox looked good, Blumanshtein had some nice touches and McCann was all right. Special mention though has to go to Odhiambo. What an improvement! Last season he could barely pass the ball, and now he's creating chances for fun! Unlike a certain Mr Rooney though who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo! An improvement is still needed for Celtic mind.
  23. I noticed recently that his Revbirdog page has him in the "banned" group. What he was banned for, I don't know but I did notice that he did seem to be awfully bitter about something in the last month or so before is banning.
  24. Why does he need money? He isn't going to be released, thus can't spend any of it!
  25. I think the "hoof-the-ball-aimlessly-up-the-park-at-all-times" tactics that most Scottish teams seem to use is a part of the problem.
