  1. Had a wee scan look Soccerbase, and it looks like that about towards the end of SPL Season 1 and the start of SPL Season 2 Golly seemed to be in and out of that role, usually only moving forward when Hastings came back into the side.
  2. Yes, but then you have to remember that they are UK wide Parties. the SNP are Scotland only. I am really dissapointed by how poor the Socialist Parties have done. I see George Galloway didn't get in either.
  3. :004: how an earth was it the right decision to let him go. IMHO he was one of the most promising youngsters to ever grace TCS and look at him now. Whilst I rated him highly as a player, his attitude was apparently pretty bad and was consistently late for training.
  4. I don't think he was BNP as far as I remember he was from the "Land is power" or something similar. EDITED to correct party name, also to say that if people should check their facts before posting, a quick look at the BBC site shows BNP were not even standing in Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath, sometimes I wonder if allowing the masses to chose our leadership is the most sensible option! Whoever he was, he was weird. Edit - Did anyone else think he looked a bit like The Edge from U2 but without the hat?
  5. Were you there?
  6. LOL @ the BNP sunglasses wearing guy giving some bizarre solute behind Gordon Brown. Absolutely cringeworthy.
  7. You're missing my point entirely. I would never criticise anyone for not being able to attend games. I myself have been in the situation where it was impossible to attend games. What has my point to do with this thread? It has everything to do with this thread. You're giving an opinion on a whole bunch of players, yet you've only physically attended one game this season. To me that makes you unqualified to give a proper opinion. Look at it this way. I myself have only attended two away games this season. Some people claim that certain players play better away from home. That may be true, it may not be, but I myself would never give an opinion on a certain player's away performances. Why? Because I am in no qualified position to do so. You even back up one of your points by saying that a player walked out slowly! Says it all really.
  8. A shortened version of the Japanese name for Japan, Nippon perhaps?
  9. I know it's a bit late, but ah, who cares? It was a good day. The game was a bit dull, some of the players looked like they were already on their holidays, but some of the football was quite good with Munro and Golly (usually the main offenders) seeming less keen to punt the ball forward at every opportunity and rather look for the pass. Cox, Hayes and Tokely were really good. Esson had a couple of good saves and the rest were fine. No-one you could say had a bad game, but Bully looked hot and cold at times. The wooden spoon award goes to Rod Stewart (was that really him?)'s sound system - rubbish, but he was sure good with that microphone stand! I liked how Butcher announced all the players on individually on, that was a nice touch. And those were certainly some cool pyrotechnics! One last point though, that crowd surge at the end. Was it just me or was it a bit short? I seem to remember in 2004 the pitch invasion lasted ages and IIRC there was a second one as well afterwards. We just seem to run on, and then run back off again. A bit tame, but I can't complain.
  10. Those amounts show just how hideous these people are paid.
  11. That's some great expert opinion for that lot from someone who was only at one game!
  12. What about Michael Fraser? He came through the ICT youth system (I think) and was playing in the SPL just last week.
  13. that opening to a sentence is where the rest of the post usually becomes irrelevant ! :015: Aye, I know, but it was the best source I could find!
  14. I think I'm right in saying that Mizuno can also play in the centre so he could in fact play in the first team alongside Hayes, Rooney and Foran. Edit - According to Football Manager 2010, Mizuno can play in the centre as well as on the left, but it is not his natural position.
  15. IIRC in ICT's first couple of seasons in the SPL, Golabek was mainly used as a left midfielder.
  16. For me the only mistake there is letting Duff go. The handful of times I saw him play I thought he looked like a capable and sturdy centre-half. IIRC Duff was thought by some to go on and be ICT captain one day, but obviously his bad injury did him no favours for this season and for Butcher's decisions.
  17. Just because someone else will likely slot into a position, does not mean a similar player is "not needed". If this guy's a good player then he's a good player, and side like ICT can't afford to let good players slip out of reach. If he's good enough and is willing to come, then he should be signed, whether he plays in the first team straight away from the first minute is irrelevant.
  18. I was actually referring to the record for the highest scoring draw, but the Australia result was from a 2001 game against American Samoa which they won 31-0. That's the record for the biggest win in international football.] Edit - Apparently the last time there was a 6-6 draw was in August 1999 in the Belgian League when Genk drew with Westerlo.
  19. I seem to recollect seeing him in a reserve game at Caley Park a couple of years ago. He was quite good and set up a goal IIRC.
  20. 6-6 :clapping04: I believe that equals the world record that was a Netherlands game a few years ago. Unbelievable result.
  21. Van Zanten was linked to ICT before of course, just after he left Hibs. According to Wikipedia, Eastman is an eighteen year old, Ipswich centre-half. And a pretty tall one too at 6"3.
  22. He did work under Butcher at Scotland, so TB may talk him into signing for us. I would LOVE it if he came but who does he replace in the team? Probably David Proctor if Tokely is kept a centre half, or perhaps fighting for a midfield role with Duncan and Cox.
  23. It was reported a while ago on here that Park would not be offered a new deal when he returned from his loan spell.
  24. I'd be pleased with this signing. I know for Scotland some claim he wasn't much good, but from the Burnley highlights I've seen over the course of the season, he looks like a very good player - and his penalty kicks alone are something else! He can play right-back and in the midfield I believe and could also be the captain ICT have been crying out for since Dods left.
  25. I think he had a few more than that mind. :023: Lionel's just one of those players though who could score a hat-trick and there'd still be people going nuts.
