McBain's back on the bench, and about time too. No Stratford on there though.

I've noticed your first point. I noticed a few months ago, one poster came out with a seething anti-Islam stance. Was anything done about it? No. If he'd said the same about Catholics or Jews or some other minority group, they'd be banned for life on sectarian grounds. On your last point, I must have had the most attacks on me than any other poster on the this forum, and once on P&B, where I was referred to by a regualar poster on here as a "retard". But on here I've called everything from a halfwit, to a County supporter, numerous parts of the human anatomy, numerous different names for human waste, an idiot, stuck in a pre-war era, had a thread calling for my dismissal and even a Gay Crusader! Seriously unbelieveable stuff.

Golly out!
I'll be glad to see Lionel get another chance, though I'm surprised no-one has mentioned McBain yet as a replacement for Golabek. On a good day, Lionel can be the best player on the park, unlike Golabek who from what I'v see of him, 9 times out of 10 contributes nothing, and seems to be struggling to get over the half way line these days. I've seen Shinnie a couple of times this season, and rated him quite highly each time, though he is fairly small and maybe a move into the midfield would benefit him. But on the whole I hope Lionel has a great game tomorrow, and hopefully keeps it up, keeping Golly back in the retirement home in the process.

Tokely's broken hand blow
I seem to recollect reading on here that when he was at the Aberdeen Youths, he scored 40 goals in one season.

World Cup draw
I wouldn't. Most of those teams would beat Scotland, probably fairly comfortably.

Re-Building Process
Who's that then? I know CC must be Charlie Christie, but who must BW be? Barry Wilson? Bobby Williamson? Bohn Wobertson? Bele Waterson?

Scottish Cup 4th Round Draw
I feel quiet good about the draw actually. Mainly cause I feel that this could well be a close and exciting game.

Fitness - Lack of
Fitness is a huge element right now from what I can see, but I can't help but feel sometimes, that where the fitness is most important, it is absent from those players. Those players are the full backs, and at the current rate, both Tokely and Golabek have to be the slowest, unfittest players in the team. Look how often ICT are done on the counter attack, when Tokely has neither the speed or the staying power to get back in time from his forward runs. The same can be said for Golabek on his side. Lionel and Hastings may have had their faults, but if someone got passed them on that side, they could still stay with them and challenge them when they go for a cross. Now with the slower-than-a-week-in-jail right back in Rosscoe, and the slow, overweight pensioner in Golabek, if someone with even a slight bit of pace gets past them, there's no chance they'll be caught. What County have done this season IMO is very clever. What they have is, I think it's fair to say, an excellent fitness coach in Craig Brewster, doing fitness and fitness alone, along with a fairly decent tactician in Derek Adams. Is it any coincidence that in essentially every Highland Derby this season, County have look far more organised and more fit than the ICT team? To me, this issue could well make or break ICT's season.

The ones that got away?
Dan Wagaluka - Now playing for Azam FC in Tanzania. Played against Liverpool last season, but Brew felt he was too small and too lightweight. http://www.azamfc.co.tz/first-team/player/dan-wagaluka

Remarkable comebacks
Man U in the 1999 Champions League final. ICT being 3-1 down to County in about 2001ish. Wyness scored twice with ten seconds to go to draw the game 3-3.

Butcher has to Go!
- Butcher has to Go!
I thought he did amazingly well at Coventry. Ok at Sunderland. Good at 'Well. Not enough time with Burnley or Sydney. Can you explain why you don't or are you just looking at the sackings (in which case, would you then count Alex Ferguson, Arrigo Sacchi and Jose Mourinho as bad managers as they have also been sacked). Butcher was never manager of high flyers Burnley, he was actually sacked after a horrific managerial display at then lowly Brentford. And on your second point, none of those managers have been sacked time and time again, unlike a certain Mr Butcher. None of those aforemetioned names ever had a decent playing career (or in Mourinho's case, no playing career at all), and IMO that says something for their managerial skills when essentially mediocre (and sometimes not even) players (and in Sacchi's case, a shoe salesman!), can make it up to the heights of managing the sort of clubs they have. Mr Butcher on the other hand, is a hugely well known player, and with someone with his sort playing career as manager of a team like ICT, shows to me that his managerial skills leave a lot of be desired.- Butcher has to Go!
That's a good point, but after Butcher's rather relative success in his second season at Motherwell, he had essentially what Brew had at Dundee United twice! Two absolute disasters, at both Sydney and Brentford. If you actually compare the records of Butcher at Brentford and Brewster at Dundee United, they are really both as bad as each other, with Butcher's only really being slightly better (Butcher at Brentford - P23 W5 L13 D5 and Brewster at DUFC - P30 W3 L16 D11). Two managers who quite simply can't cut it.- CTO - The Future
This isn't a English class, if it's readable who really cares! That's the point though, sometimes it isn't and at the bare minimum, people should at least try and make an effort.- Butcher has to Go!
When Brewster was sacked, I for one was quite keen on seeing Butcher come here. To be honest, I admit I was rather naive. His record on the whole, is to put it bluntly, rather hopeless. Besides Motherwell (where, in his first season in charge he finished botton [only saved by Brockville]), he's been sacked from every club he's ever managed. He's had five managerial jobs before this one, and he's been sacked by four (six if you count his recent Scotland sacking). To me that paints a picture of a poor manager (how someone can actually say he's a "good" manager is very debatable and I sure would like to hear their evidence in saying so) and I also get the impression of him being someone who gets a manager's job, only because of the fact that he was such a big name in the footballing world. After all, how many Scottish First Division managers have a feud with Diego Maradona?! Tactically though, he seems to be rather inept. This can be seen in the way that he fails to combat the changes in other teams tactics, going into important games such as Falkirk last season, fielding a rather bizarre team selection, the freezing out of certain experienced players like Roy McBain, and the way that he seems to compelled (bar the recent dropping of Eagle) always to include his own signings (see the constant inclusion of the poor Daniel Stratford). I've also heard a number of allegations from both here and other places, that he does have a rather arrogant and nasty element to him. I also used to find it rather laughable when he's talking about the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United and saying what they should do, when he doesn't even get his own team to do hat! This post is not a call for his head. I understand and somewhat agree with the aforementioned attitude that it seems that when you come on here after a win it's all "Butcher is genius", and after a defeat it's all this "Butcher must go!" stuff. IMO he is not a good manager, but I reckon he'll either go around Christmastime, or he'll see out the season. Again I'm not calling for his sacking, but there sure won't be any tears from me, should I wake up tomorrow and hear he's walked out the door.- Partick -V- ICT : matchday thread

Some of you may be interested to know, that Butcher is actually from (or was at least born), in Singapore.- Partick -V- ICT : matchday thread
Must admit I didn't expect to see Eagle make the bench. How on Earth Stratford makes it every weeks while McBain doesn't is another thing altogether though.- ST ANDREWS - Quiz Night
I think he was the patron of Jamaica as well was he not? Hence the reason for the similar flag.- This Time Next Year...
Do you get some sort of sexual pleasure from replying to my posts and attacking me personally? You've only had four posts on this site, and each one has been an attack on me. Please refrain from posting in this childish manner again, and in future, keep your posts to make an answer of topic of the thread in question. Is that really too much to ask? - Butcher has to Go!
