  2. More like 1%. Too slow, too fat, too lazy, nowhere near good enough for this level. A dreadful player who unsurprisingly has fallen into the midst of obscurity ever since. He made Eric Odhiambo look like Lionel Messi!
  3. Fon Williams Devine Warren Meekings Vincent Tansey Wedderburn Vigurs Williams Storey Christie Subs - Esson, Tremarco, MacRae, Polworth, Sutherland, Howarth, Horner
  4. I'm actually quite pleased. Means Hughes will get a far better view of the pitch than he would ordinarily and could thus see some of the issues we've been noticing of late. Why managers spend all game in the dugout though anyway is beyond me. You can't see anything down there!
  5. I see that after spells in Turkey and Ireland, Eric Odhiambo has recently signed for Kidlington. They're in the Hellenic Football League Premier Division - the ninth level of English football.
  6. John Robertson? Is the Orion group running that Facebook page. Even more bizarrely, they put up their favoured line-up for the Dundee game last week, with Devine dropped and replaced by.........Calum Howarth! The guy's not even a centre-back!
  7. With all the speculation in recent weeks, I've noticed that ICT Loyal Army Facebook page popping on my timeline a lot again. It has to be seen to be believed! Along with stealing people's tweets and posting them as their own, they want Yogi to resign and be replaced by John Robertson or even Richard Hastings! It's also worrying that some of our fans would seem quite happy for Butcher to return. Deary me!
  8. I see Kenny Gillet is without a club at the moment and is still only 29. I really liked him when he was here and a better left-back than Tremarco I reckon.
  9. I was just thinking the same thing. If his deal is up prior to the tournament and he doesn't sign a new one by the time it starts, he'd technically be a free agent. Presumably in that case we'd get nothing.
  10. IIRC we got something like 60k for Niculae going to it.
  11. The winners of the ties between LTHV and Huntly and Wick against Linlithgow would all be great away trips IMO.
  12. Nope! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33801858 Interesting! I don't suppose that was us sniffing about again? I hope not, after reading that article about him there, he doesn't come across very well. Apparently we were going to offer him a contract before the Astra home game but that also fell through because he had a high wage demand because we were playing in Europe. Seemingly since the deal fell through after his agent wanted megabucks, Hooper has played a grand total of 16 minutes for Port Vale, who now have to pay Havant and Waterlooville £8,400 in development fees (something we wouldn't have done). Still think we dodged a bullet there really.
  13. I recollect Hughes saying he past a fitness for a game about 6 weeks back but in the end decided not to play! He's been on the verge of a return ever since!
  14. Is Jordan Roberts ever going to make a return? Saw him heading into the stadium on Saturday and looked to be walking pretty well. And what has happened to Tobi Sho-Silva? He's been on the verge of a return for weeks but seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth!
  15. I might be alone in thinking this, but actually felt we looked more defensively solid after Raven was sent off and we went with a back-three. Considering almost all of our natural wingers are out, Raven will be suspended and Garry Warren is back, I wonder if that's something worth trying next week. Imagine something like this: Devine Warren Meekings Vincent ----------------------------Williams That's a pretty solid looking back three, with Vincent and Williams as attacking minded wing-backs. Worth a try I reckon.
  16. I never noticed at the game, but I see in the highlights there's some ICT-Glentoran fans friendship flags behind the goal. What's that all about? Presume it's someone who supports both. Whatever happened with our Crystal Palace link by the way? Did Marlon ever manage to sell any of those t-shirts?

  18. Fon Williams Raven Devine Tremarco Williams Tansey Wedderburn Christie Vincent Sutherland Meekings Subs - Esson, Polworth, Horner, Vigurs, Brown, MacRae, Howarth With Storey out, I've gone for a slightly revolutionary idea - Meekings up front. Think about it: he's strong, he's fairly quick, he's a decent passer of the ball, he's a strong runner with the ball, he's a hard worked and on top of that, according to Ryan Esson he's got the hardest shot in the whole squad. Worth a try I reckon.
  19. Not the first time that's happened. Dougie Imrie sold me a ticket once! As I mentioned in another thread the other day, Hamilton Accies used to something very similar to what you described. We all know how good their youth academy is and it was used, in a way, in tandem with the first team squad. They'd go into the game with their starting eleven and on the bench a substitute goalkeeper and five outfield first team players. The seventh spot was then reserved for a youth team player. As well as the experience of taking part in the matchday squad, the following week the coaches would observe the effect that his inclusion had on him in training. Did he become arrogant? Did he become lazy? Or on the flipside, did he strive even harder in order to win that place on the bench again the following week? A very clever approach IMO. The three U21s rule was scrapped a few years back. There's now no limit in the matchday squad. The Development League used to only allow 3 over-20 players but that's now been expanded to 5, but trialists count as one outfield player no-matter how old they are (or something like that!).
  20. Teams have cottoned on to Tremarco as a weakness and in the first half everything seemed to be coming down our left. Shame as he's really good going forward but defensively he's poor. I thought Devine had come on a lot in the past year and even imagined he could fill Warren's boots, but this season how many times has he let us down with horrorshow defending like the penalties v Dundee and St Johnstone. Anyway roll on Saturday as you say big man. Teams have cottoned on to Tremarco as a weakness and in the first half everything seemed to be coming down our left. Anyway roll on Saturday as you say big man. Totally agree with Mantis. Our defensive problems all stem from Shinnie's departure and Warren's injury. Neither Tremarco nor Williams has really filled Shinnie's boots, and Devine is too inconsistent in the middle of the defence. Get back soon Gary! I also feel that Hughes has made some unwise decisions in some of the players he has brought in. I always thought that the reason to bring in a new player was to strengthen the squad. Can we honestly say that Wederburn, Roberts, Lopez, Silva meet that criterion? Not true. Williams had some superb games at left-back earlier in the season.
  21. On the subject of Wedderburn, I saw him play Astra away and I thought he had an excellent game. Strikes me as the perfect man to replace Draper.
  22. Calm down buttercup. When you became a member....is that your current username or the Mahonio one....or the Caley Shaun one on P&B? By the way, I never said you were wrong, just that your post was very predictable. It's been the same for years. Butcher Out - I'm backing Butcher - Butcher Out - I'm backing Butcher - Yogi Out - I'm backing Yogi - Yogi Out! You were wanting him to stay and claimed you were backing him 100% for the rest of the season, less than a fortnight ago. And you've changed your mind.....again. What a surprise... http://caleythistleonline.com/topic/29927-yogis-contract/?page=9#comment-445812
  23. And the 'Most Predictable Post of the Night Award' goes to....
  24. While using my computer machine earlier, I see the writer of the article in the original post has given an interview with Ladbrokes about ICT - http://ow.ly/TIAeO . As well as being a particularly handsome chap, he's bang on about County fans and the imperfections of Scottish football as well as being quite taken with Bobby Mann (who wouldn't be of course!).
