  1. There's no JD Sports in the town centre. Is there?
  2. Not sign a deal with a joke brand. The deal with Carbrini and JD must be good financially for the club to take it. I also think that the quality of the merchandise is much better than Errea had provided for us. I can't see there being much of a difference in waiting until September because I know fans will still buy the kits. Fair enough we missed the perfect opportunity during the European games vs Astra to sell them but I think we will still have a good number of them sold when they do eventually go on sale. Don't you believe it. We really don't have a clue when dealing with this kind of thing! Keeping with the same supplier would have been the easiest option. Its a bold move and looking like the right one. Ideally it would have been better to sell in the club shop too but its for sale in the town centre and people have been crying out for a town centre outlet for a long time. Is it?
  3. I think the biggest travesty of this whole saga is that Celtic announced on their website that Christie had signed for 'Bhoyhood heroes'....with the H in there! CRINGE!!
  4. While the deal itself may have been negotiated with a owner of a few local branches, Subway is still the name of a massive corporation donning the kits. The same goes for Carbrini. Neither of these need any extra advertising from me. As I said, if it was the name of a small local independent firm or a charity or something, then that's a different matter, but it isn't. It's the club's right to choose them as sponsors and suppliers, it's their right to put their name on the kits, it's my choice not to give them any free advertising.
  5. Just out of interest, what is it that's 'historic' about this new kit? First one with Carbrini? Agree with this. I think the new away kit is one of the smartest we've had, but I don't fancy going to games (wearing it as casual wear is a no no!) with SUBWAY written across me. If it was a local independent business or something similar (Inverness Medical for example) or a charity, then I'd be more open to it, but I don't think a company like Subway need any extra advertising from me. It's the same with the training/casual stuff out recently. Nice from the front, but it doesn't need the suppliers name plastered on the back of it.
  6. Seemingly Roberts is to be out for another two months. Wonder if that was the thinking in bringing in Sho-Silva and hence why he's only signed until Christmas.
  7. Am I not right in saying that should he return to Celtic in January, he'd be cup tied for the Europa League? I'm a bit disappointed we've dealt with Celtic after their dreadful antics towards Meekings last season to be honest.
  8. My understanding is that Murray would take about 2 months to get fit. Don't think this is the time to take a punt and wait and see if he becomes any good to be honest.
  9. How much did Hamilton Accies get for that left back Hendrie by the way? I'm sure it was about a million and was certainly more than we've been offered for Christie anyway.
  10. That Alex O'Henley from BBC Alba has just tweeted that Anthony Stokes coming here on loan could be part of the Christie to Celtic deal if it goes through.
  11. Has he not just signed on loan with St Mirren? EDIT - Just checked. He has.
  12. The only plus side about Mutombo's challenge, was that we won't have to see him for a while. A dreadful challenge to sum up a dreadful game. I could see him giving the eyes to some of the fans giving him grief as he went off. Can't say I had any sympathy for him though. A stupid thing to do. What I couldn't understand was why he lasted so long. I could understand Wedderburn coming on for a tiring Vigurs, but I couldn't understand we weren't taking Mutombo off for Foran (or even Horner or Polworth), just to see out the game and run down the clock, while also bringing someone on who could hold up for the ball. The way Mutombo was holding the ball, you'd think it was a bar of soap! As others have said, I'm really liking Williams at left back. The only thing he needs to work on a wee bit I'd say, is his crossing into the box. Reminds me a bit of Richard Hastings in that it's always straight at the keeper. Who was the suited up guy in our dugout by the way? Didn't recognise him.
  13. I've watched Myles Hippolyte on TV a few times last season. Always impressed.

  15. It's a nice idea, but I'd have thought our chances to being able to bring Stevie May in would be approximately nil sadly.
  16. Just goes to show you actually. Liam Boyce is playing for a far smaller club in a less fashionable league but he's in the squad. Would Mckay be in the squad if he was playing for us or some other 'unfashionable' club but playing and scoring fairly regularly? Probably.
  17. Is he not a Celtic supporter? Wouldn't at all be surprised if that's where he ends up to be honest. Even then though, would he get much game time? Certainly nowhere near as much as he would with us, against mostly the same opposition. Can't really see how he'd grow as a player with that move to be honest.
  18. MacKinnon was the same the last time we played Hamilton at home. Screaming at the referee for everything, kicking everything that moves and it should come as no surprise to anyone that he was in prison a few years back for assault. The guy's a ned pure and simple. While the Alex Neil era now seems to have eclipsed everything that went before, I'm sure many on here remember the Accies side the last time they were in the top flight. Much of their attitude is very reminiscent of those days. While the slinky football might be a product of Alex Neil, the dirtiness, the play-acting and the petulance seems to be a product still instilled in them from the Billy Reid days.
  19. Just worked out there that in the great season we had in 2012-13, where we finished fourth in the league and missed out on Europe on the final day, we only had one more point after five games than what we have now. It was also around this time that many had dismissed David Raven as not good enough and we were all worried where a goalscorer was coming from (we already had one!) Keep your hair on folks. The season is young.
  20. I actually felt Lopez was more in tune with his team mates this week. I could understand bringing Wedderburn and Tremarco on as the latter allowed Williams to go further forward, while the former has the presence to win the ball in midfield and be a threat from set-pieces, but I can't understand why Lopez was replaced with Horner. Now taking a striker off when you're a goal down is one thing (especially if he's injured), but surely Ferguson would be the man to come on? At least getting another striker on in place of him would've retained the goal threat up front. Has Horner ever looked like scoring? I would've had the faith that Ferguson or even Sutherland up-front towards the end would've made at least a good go of it.

  24. Interesting Jordan Slew fact for you here (warning: not that interesting): He loves classical music.
