We have a better squad than Falkirk. We should, like we did in the semi, attack from the off, grab the game by the scruff of the neck and show why we deserve to win the cup. I like the idea of going 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and just go out and do it. For me - Esson Raven Devine Meekings Shinnie Ross Draper Tansey Williams Watkins Ofere Subs - Mackay, Doran, Christie, Tremarco, Polworth, Vincent, Kink Now I've left Christie on the bench. From what I gather the two central midfielders for Falkirk are fairly older and slow. For that reason, as the start to tire, I'd like to see Christie and maybe Doran as well unleashed in the second half.
  2. Does anyone know what kind of build up there'll be prior to the game? Do they also not as well parade the trophy with two club legends before the start? I'm sure that happened with County's final. I wonder who our legend would be. Munro? Tokely? Steve Paterson?
  3. Been one of our most underrated players this season IMO.
  4. To play Devil's Advocate a wee bit here, do we *need* a new left-back? We have Tremarco but I was looking at a Chester forum the other week and their comments seem to suggest that Danny Williams is actually naturally a full-back as well. I seem to remember much the same being reported when he signed. Also, he did play there last season in one game and from my recollection had a very good game indeed. Could he be the rampaging wing-back to replace Shinnie? I think he could be you know.
  5. Seemingly only the chairman knows the actual figure and he's not telling anyone else. Again, why the big secret? It's a bit silly IMO. I don't believe the club have any reason to embarrassed by how many they've sold, but the fact it's radio silence on this front, gives the impression that they are.
  6. I heard somewhere on the grapevine that we'll be bringing in a keeper on loan at the start of next season in order for Brill to fully recover.
  7. I seem to recollect Livingston having a ticker on their website at one time for the number of season tickets they'd sold. Why can't we do that? What about every couple of days announcing the number? That would drum up interest constantly. Even if they didn't want to announce the numbers, they could say "We're with 20 of 12,000 etc., the person to buy the 12,000th ticket wins a shirt!". That'd get people interested. And anyway, why the big secret? Granted the amount doesn't really matter, but if we did announce it, would lose potential sales? No. If we didn't? Potentially. We've got nothing to lose by making the numbers public and potentially something to gain.
  8. I see on the PFA Availability List, along with Vigurs, I also spotted Stuart Carswell, Paul Lawson and John Sutton on it. Worth a look? I've always thought Sutton was a dangerous player but then if we retain Ofere we already have that 'type' of player. Carswell and Lawson would suit Yogi's style I reckon. There's also the brilliantly named David Banjo on the list. Great name but would probably be better suited at County!
  9. Baptie has been told he won't be offered a new contract. - and a decision on Ferguson will be given next week. Going by the PFA Player Availability list, you are right and Baptie has indeed been released.

Probably some saddo in an office claiming it was litter. Also, did no-one think about giving Flora MacDonald's dog a scarf as well?! By the way, there's a lane round the back of my house that doesn't have a name. Should we win the cup we should get the council to name it after the club. In the event of that happening, I'll personally move into my garage so I can be the only resident on said Caley Thistle Street!
  11. The current white third kit is by some distance the dullest kit we've ever had. Looks like something like a Welfare League team would wear. I don't understand the clubs obsession with having to have the home colours in the away kit either and I'm bored of constant white kits. Black seems to be a total non-starter as well. It'd be nice to see something totally different for a change. Think I'm right in saying that we haven't had a non-home colour away kit since that orange number in 2002.
  12. A 'nothing friendly'?! It's the Qatar Airways Cup don't you know!
  13. A red reverse of the home kit as the away kit next season, would look pretty smart IMO.
  14. It doesn't, I just think it's awfully curious that there now seems to be all these Man City and Chelsea supporters in the Highlands. When I was in school there wasn't any. Now that they're successful that seems to have changed. I wonder if some Russian oligarch bought say Bristol Rovers and they won the European Cup, you'd see their shirts up being worn up here... Personally, I think having two clubs is like having a wife and a girlfriend. Just wrong!
  15. I'll take that as a no then.
  16. McHugh isn't very good, hence why he was released and ended up at Airdrie on loan. Five goals in 70 matches for Motherwell. No thanks. As far as I'm aware, I've never seen Chalmers play. I doubt you have either... No-one is saying you can't have an opinion, but it's hard to give it any credence when you've never seen any of these players. The same goes for tactics and team line-ups and all the rest of it.
  17. I'll reiterate again that we need to give Cameron Mackay some game time before the final. Imagine Falkirk bombard the goal for the opening ten minutes (not inconceivable at all) and then Esson picks up an injury or gets sent off (or both!). This is nothing against Mackay at all but do we really want a teenage goalkeeper making his debut as a substitute in the final with no first team match experience at all? What have we got to lose by playing him on Sunday? In fact, I wouldn't even be risking Esson ahead of the final.
  18. I take it you supported them when they in the lower leagues as well aye....?
  19. You'd take Chalmers and McHugh over McDonald and Ainsworth. I know you don't attend many games, but jeez. From what I remember, McHugh hardly did anything in the Premiership for Motherwell, hence why he was released.
  20. Accies got promoted through the play-off.
  21. What about Stuart Kettlewell? Unless he's more involved with coaching now...
  22. Is there anything the club and/or the council can do to stop the sale of fake merchandise outside the ground? Surely that's taking business away from the club and possibly in breach of the club trademark (if they have the rights to the name of course?)? I suppose the other question is though, is what kind of self-respecting fan would buy any of that trash?
  23. The Northern Irish teams play the same type of season as us (expect no football on a Sunday!). A trip to Belfast to face Linfield or Glentoran (featuring Curtis Allen - booo!) would be good fun and might see us bring 500+ fans. Glenavon (Johnny Tuffey - booo!) are in the draw as well, but they're in County Armagh not far from the Republic border I believe.
  24. Has De Vita signed a new deal at County? Think he'd be a great signing.
  25. Baptie has been told he won't be offered a new contract. - and a decision on Ferguson will be given next week. That's a shame. I really liked the look of Baptie. I'd be surprised if Ferguson isn't retained, especially after talking him up in the press for a couple of months. On who to bring in, I think McFadden is passed it and would probably still command a big wage. Three or four years ago yes, but not now. I might be wrong but isn't Tesselaar always injured? McGeouch would be worth looking at though and I think Ainsworth would fit into our team no bother.
