Bobby Williamson's a bit of hoof merchant. His record isn't bad, but would he have suited the players we had at that time? Arguably not. Done quite well in Africa I'm led to believe. Archie Knox took his name out of the running after deciding he didn't want to move to the Highlands I think. He might have been quite an astute choice. Was Alan Kernaghan not offered it as well at point? I seem to recollect he was, as was Paul Hegarty with Malpas as assistant I think as well.

Was Gough not interviewed for it once? Think he expressed an interest last time as well.

Nevio Scala. Applies for a lot of jobs over here, but I don't remember him ever being linked with us. Bobby "Blobby" Williamson was interviewed for it once I think. Probably wouldn't have been much good. Paul Telfer came second in the running when Yogi got it (ahead of Paul Hartley). A surprise from the outside that he was even interviewed, but apparently came with some glowing references. He was player/coach of Sutton United in the Conference South at the time, but has since become one of the assistant managers of American side Indy Eleven in Indianapolis!

Does anyone else remember the Austrian/German manager Bernd Krauss (formerly manager of Borussia Dortmund, Real Sociedad and Tenerife amongst others) applying when Brewster was sacked? Only seems to have managed one club since - Etoile du Sahel in the Tunisian league. I remember Ossie Ardiles was the favourite for a short time and in that STV interview AJS mentions said that the only thing he knew about Inverness was that it was "very cold"!

Seemingly, Hughes is after bringing Celtic's Callum McGregor here, who scored against Maribor last Thursday. I seem to recollect him mentioning looking to bring someone in on loan and this is presumably one he was referring to. http://au.eurosport.com/football/hughes-monitoring-mcgregor_sto4367802/story.shtml

I'm sure the sort list after Christie left was Brewster, Warnock and Owen Coyle. Coyle probably would've been quite good actually. Wasn't Donald Park offered once (and maybe twice) and turned it down. Duncan Shearer was offered it once as well apparently. Both know their stuff but I'm not sure how good they'd have been. I've always wondered as well that had Shearer wanted it when Butcher left, he'd have gotten it, at least until the end of last season.

If it was say Falkirk or Kilmarnock or somebody then non-segregation would be do-able. The problem with teams like Celtic, Rangers and at times Aberdeen, is that they seem to have a far higher of scum than every other club. It just takes one neanderthal to ruin it for anyone and it's because of these cave men that we can't take a no barriers approach. I know people will probably think "well if they're causing a scene, tell the stewards and they'll get rid of them", but we all know and have seen many times that when it comes to the Old Firm, the police and stewards are spineless cowards who don't want to get involved. In an ideal world, we could have barrierless games, but because of some of the fans of clubs like Celtic, it is a must.

Presume Marsella had some engagement up here. Used to play for Elgin I believe, maybe he was seeing someone from there.
-
He was offered it before Charlie Christie got it. A lucky escape if there ever was one! He's been interviewed on the last two occasions I believe. Never fancied him getting it at all and he wasn't much good at Lincoln apparently. From what I remember he said something about moving to Inverness when he retires and possibly taking over here. Think he said something about the job "not being big enough for him at the minute".

Did anyone else spot some of the neanderthals in the wee stand near the North Stand? Most seem to spend more time watching the stand and sending us wee messages than watching the game.
-
Why are we going into matches with only six on the bench by the way? Surely there'd be no harm including Ferguson (who I was very impressed with in pre-season) or Brown or Sutherland? Even putting MacKay as a second keeper on there would be better than nothing I'd have thought.

Are you sure you're plugging the microphone into the correct socket? If it's the same type of cameras I've used, there's two sockets kinda on the top. Plugging into the wrong one is maybe the problem?

Anyway, I'm sure as everyone who could be bothered going today will know, that was a wonderful performance. The defence and attacking play were both excellent and it is testament to the work being done on the training field. Draper and Brill amongst others were excellent, as was Marley Watkins who I think is our best winger since Barry Robson. Carry on like this, and we could well get into Europe.

Happy clappers that said naysayers wanted ICT to fail as it was 'personal' against Yogi A great result like this and the usual suspect tried to make it 'them' and 'us'. Everyone wants ICT to win! Everyone wants Yogi to succeed! As many did with Butcher, all naysayers want to hold their hands up and say their wrong. Amazing this still needs said.... Absolutely right. This is the poster of course who constantly attacks other posters no-matter what. Sad that somebody just can't enjoy the win but has to make it all about them as well. Negative and tiresome in the extreme. Think we'll find as well that almost all the prominent "Yogi Naysayers" were at the game today, while this superfan was not.

Thought he was pretty hopeless and pretty biased myself.

Seriously, that half time challenge was farcical today. If it was from the penalty spot to the corner flag, that would be far enough, but to kick the ball off the ground and get it that far with enough height on it, is very very difficult, especially from people in flat shoes who've probably haven't kicked a football in years! You could be offering the car and no-one would win it!

I thought his comments about being "interested in signing for Southend" were a bit disrespectful to Concord. Also, according to his Twitter, Richie Byrne is now a London-based personal trainer. He also plays for Egham Town who play in the Division One Central of the Southern League!

In light of that thread on P&B, it got me thinking about people who have been linked/interviewed/offered/expressed an interest in the ICT's manager's job over the years. Did we have any lucky escapes? And what about people in hindsight who could well have done a great job? IMO a lucky escape on two occasions was Maurice Malpas. He was interviewed for the job when Robertson left (I think) and was of course offered it when Butcher went. He did a horrendous job at Motherwell and Swindon and I think we got away lucky with that one. On the other hand, I'm sure that Stuart McCall expressed an interest in taking over when Charlie Christie resigned. His stock was quite low at the time I believe, as he had just left Bradford, but in hindsight he probably would've done a really good job (far better than Brewster did anyway!). Any others over the years?

The one with the dreadlocks is definitely the one I saw after the reserve game.

Isn't the first one Febian Brandy? Does bare resemblance I think. IIRC it was reported that one was an ex-England U20 international and he is.

Madden is mediocre IIRC. Collum on the other hand is just hideous and the amount of red cards he dishes out is very suspicious.

Did anyone else notice the "You are the ref" kinda scenario in the first half. The Motherwell keeper passed out a goal kick to one of his defenders who was just inside the box. The rules state though, that for the ball to be active, it has to clear the box. When the Motherwell player touched it, the referee blew and made the keeper take it again. Should he not have awarded us an indirect free kick in the box?
